Must win game. There are 3 off days between Games 2 and 3 so the Nuggets really need to go all out in this one. Needs to be a 40+ minute game from Jokic and MPJ.
I'm trying to be optimistic after Game 1 but there are a ton of concerning stats from that game.
However, the key stat was that the Wolves scored 26 points off turnovers. Don't turn the ball over and maybe you win. The Wolves halfcourt offense doesn't look too special. It's just Ant creating space and nailing shots. The Nuggets really got fucked in Game 1 when they weren't able to set their defense.
We're due a Jokic masterpiece. Have yet to have a signature Jokic game this playoff run. He NEEDS to set the tone. First possession put Gobert in the rim.

Nah, it’s a comment in style with his previous ones - winning is nice, … Although it was a common concern several years ago, at this point we shouldn’t doubt his competitive nature nor his unwillingness to talk to the media (thus such short answers)

Nuggets fans need to stop pretending Jokic is a mental midget. Dont be concerned about his motivation. Be concerned with Murrays health and how amazing Ant is, and how great the Wolves are playing. Thats concerning

Thank you, JB. I don't have any data to back it up but it seems most Knicks fans have a Brunson jersey -- so its good OG is getting some respect out there

always was a fan of OG. I never forgave Tim for fumbling the 2017 draft - Nuggets were projected to pick him and had two FRP in that draft class, and Tim traded one FRP + Nurkic for Mason Plumlee and traded back with the second FRP for Trey Lyles which left the Nuggets one pick back of the Raptors. and anyone with a brain knew who Masai was picking. that left the Nuggets with the great Tyler Lydon, who didn't play a single significant minute in the NBA.
it still stings to this day. love that OG exceeded expectations and will always root for him.

Nuggets havent been playing good basketball this postseason, but if there is one thing that brings me hope, its the fact that this group is resilient as f**k. since 18-19, first year this team enter playoffs, this is their longest losing streaks 18-19, 4 games (once) 19-20, 3 games 20-21, 3 games (4 with Suns sweeping us) 21-22, 6 games (once) 22-23, 4 games (once) 23-24, 3 games lets say 4 games is something you would call losing streak, in 6 years Nuggets have 3 losing streaks with 4 loses and one with 6. and that one with 6, 4 games Nuggets played without Jamal, MPJ and Jokic(had that ankle injury). last season 4 games losing streak was 0 fvcks given since Nuggets secured first place. so the only time Nuggets lost 4 in a row in last 5 years if both Jokic and Murray played was when they secured first place in the west last season. so maybe loss doesn't motivate Jokic, but he sure as hell don't like losing

I wasn't aware of this trade, but Nuggets got fleeced for sure. On a positive note, OG was a part of the Raptors 2019 championship team. It was nice to see Canada get their first NBA championship. Obviously, he is a big part of the current Knicks team. My only criticism of OG -- he seems injury prone

if the Nuggets start yet another playoff game by being down by double digits in the first quarter, I'm ready to wave the white flag on the run/title defense. we're not going to be able to pull the okie doke on the Wolves like the Lakers. they're too good.
either the Nuggets fix what's ailing them by the start of game 2, or the ailment is officially unfixable and we can just hope for a dignified exit at that point.

Maybe everyone in Denver was satisfied with one ring I cant lie, I never thought Id see a Nuggets Championship so tbh I am content with one. I obviously want more for Jokic legacy reasons and because it’s fun as f**k but again it was something I genuinely didnt think Id ever see. With regards to Calvin I am a little disappointed but it’s tough to kill the guy because he didnt really have much flexibility. I obviously would prefer him to use the MLE on someone other than Reggie but its very difficult to get a true difference maker at that salary. Bottom line is he put too much faith in defensive specialists in CB/Watson. The Nuggets had no bench offense in the regular season. I do want to be clear though, the starters are the reason why Denver has been poor in this playoff run. Both Murray and Jokic have severely underperformed in multiple different ways. Jokic was a much bigger reason as to why we lost in Game 1 than Murray was tbh. I didn’t feel that way after the game but on rewatch it was very evident.

Jamal had ZERO points at half time and played ZERO defense in the second half.
How on Earth was Jokic a bigger problem in that loss?

Things look a lot different if we have flamethrower playoff Murray out there and not hobbled Murray. We need him to panic the defense to open the court. If he can’t get there, our path forward is still possible but we’re gonna need like an AG gets hot from 3 game and a random 25 from KCP or something.

Jamal had ZERO points at half time and played ZERO defense in the second half. How on Earth was Jokic a bigger problem in that loss? We were winning at half. Murray in the 2nd half scored 17 on 6-9 shooting. Go rewatch the 2nd half. Watch every possession and then come back and tell me Murray was any worse defensively than Jokic was. He wasn't. Jokics defense was a major reason why the Nuggets lost the game. 2 of the biggest buckets of the game came on offensive rebounds where Jokic didn't box out. If you want to give him a pass on the Reid one, fine. Kind of a freak play. But the Gobert one which was probably biggest play of the game...watch his effort. AG makes an all time great contest and Jokic shows zero effort/burst to get into rebounding position. He stays on the outside of the play. Jokic also just left the ball and gave Minnesota wide open 3s multiple times in the 2nd half. Like dude if nobody is behind you, you don't just leave the ball and let guys walk into open 3s lmao You guys just refuse to take your bias away. You keep judging Murray and Jokic on the same level when one isn't an All Star and the other is a top 15 all time player. Jokic should be held to the absolute highest standard. He was bad yesterday. He takes a ton of blame, as does Murray, as does KCP, etc. If Jokic plays a B+ game, they win that game. If Murray plays a B+ game, they still lose that game.
