as I said earlier, the first 6 minutes of this game will determine the rest of this series. if we're down double digits, we're just going to have to accept we're fighting against the current at that point and make peace with the inevitable. If Jamal Murray can control himself and not shoot the ball for the first 6 minutes of the game, then it is good At this point, its a given, he will miss his first few shots at the very least ...hope he waits to shoot at the beginning of the 2nd quarter -- When Jokic is on the bench resting

Tim Legler thinks Braun is the best guy on the Nuggets to guard Edwards ...either way, time to bench KCP for this series

Definitely don't think we can just bench KCP. Though to be fair, Braun was better offensively as well in game 1, so who knows.

You guys keep blaming Murray but I guarantee that the gameplan is just for them to run 2 man and get him going. Jokic is too strong for Gobert. He's crafty. Jokic scoring gets the energy in the building too. 1st play HAS to be a Jokic post up tonight. He has to go through Gobert too. You have to set the tone for the game and the rest of the series.

Thank goodness you aren’t Malone, Jokic, or Murray. You think they thought this way when they were down 1-3 in the Bubble? Twice? We are the champs until we lose an elimination game. I don’t expect us to win this series, as you probably gathered from my earlier posts, but we certainly will not and SHOULD not have the defeatist attitude you are espousing.

this isn't the bubble.
I'm a realist, not an optimist.
the guys are exhausted, beat up and drained, physically and mentally. mostly from propping up a bench that you assured me I was being too pessimistic and "defeatist" in my criticism of in the summer.
if the pattern remains, then the problem is not going away even if we eek out a win via Murray and Joker magic. I need to see a break from the pattern to change my opinion.

Jamal was -22 (2nd worst after AG) and started the game 0-5, which lead to the T-Wolves being up 18-4 in the 1st quarter

Nuggets only had 3 offensive rebounds in game 1 ...it would be smart to play Zeke/DeAndre instead of Justin Holiday ...match size with size ...its a chess match between Malone and Finch

Pwat is our only shot at slowing edwards. The sooner Malone realizes this, the sooner we win the series.

Gotta beef up a little. Our starting 5 got beat like a drum. The first 6 minutes and last 6 minutes were a disaster in game one. Gonna have ups and downs, but we don't want to mess around too much. Get some fresh legs and better length out there and make things harder for Ant.

Edward's is a safe bet to get his. We've seen this core get dismantled by scoring guards in the past. We can offset it if Jokic is giving you an A+ game on the other end. That's the key. We've been cooked by individual players quite a bit at times but we've always had a player who can outclass then.

Gobert is NOT playing. I repeat, NOT playing.
Must win is now a should win.

Nuggets just need to play a complete game. 4 quarters of good basketball. Good decisions, effort, and execute. That's the concerning thing to me. You cant blame the other team for the lazy/sloppy play amd poor decisions. Ignore L.A/Minny. Ignore the matchups and what other teams are doing well. Nuggets have just played well below their standards regardless of circumstances.
It would be nice to see the Nuggets show up from start to finish even if they just don't stack up this year.

one of the rare times I'm in full agreement with IYM.
we were able to hero-ball our way to victory against the Lakers, but Minny is not the Lakers. if the Nuggets cannot string together 4 good quarters, even with the wind-gods keeping Rudy out of Denver, then we should probably accept they're incapable of doing so.
