i happy be we just get cash back for zeke- clear some space. It’s possible. That’s the thing folks forget about this CBA. All 30 teams have to spend at 90% of the cap. The salary floor this year is is over $120 million. Every team is required to have bad contracts. So there is probably a market for Zeke.

I guess I shouldn’t take you either seriously or literally when you insert Watson into the same grouping of players as Strawther, Pickett, and Tyson. That’s what you wrote. All I wrote is that none of those guys has a full complement of NBA skills. Braun doesn’t really either, as he doesn’t have a jump shot off the bounce game, something NBA guards should have. So there, I’ve denigrated Braun as well, although his strengths are good enough to make him a rotation guy. The Nuggets need at least a few bench players with a broader set of NBA skills than the guys they had on the bench this past season. Maybe Hayward is completely washed — I wouldn’t know since I haven’t seen him play in years — maybe he’s not. I’ll leave that to the FO. I know that he at least has NBA skills.

I’d take Willy Hernangomez in a second as backup C over the guys we had this past season. But I imagine he’s enjoying life in Barcelona.

I often said I found it puzzling why the Spaniard bros insist on grinding it out as 9th men on depressingly bad (Charlotte) or depressingly cold (Toronto, Denver) NBA markets when they could live as rockstars in Barcelona.
and I'm sure Willy is asking himself the same question now.

and if I can preempt some of the "bu bu Denver gets more sunshine per capital than any other city" takes that I hear often.
if you grew up in a southern mediterranean country, Denver is an arctic hellhole.

Nonsense. I grew up in NoCal and spent most of my young adulthood in SoCal, which has what is called a Mediterranean climate. Denver is most certainly not an Arctic hellhole.

it is in the winter when you come from Spain and have no reference with things like windchill and frostbite. I don't know if you've ever been to Canada but I wouldn't trade life in Canada for 10 Spains lined up next to each other. Trout and Salmon fishing season starts at begging of September and ends at the end of May lol. For somebody who spends an average of 70+ full days of fishing in a calendar year (me) there isn't a place in this universe to be traded with Canada. And I miss those cold winters. The last 15 years or so are soo soft...

I'm guessing you did your fishing in Newfoundland and Labrador.
if you made it to Western Canada (not counting BC, obviously), I highly highly doubt you miss -40 with the windchill if you experienced it lol.

No I live in Toronto, ON and that's probably the best location for the type of fishing I like. In the epicenter of the great lakes but still in the urban area for everything else. I experienced -40C maybe once in my life but I wish we had at least 10-15 of those days a year This past winter I don't remember single day below -10C. Maybe there was a day or 2 it's just that I don't remember. I even hate skiing when the temperature is higher than -10C

I haven't watched a ton, but he'd immediately be the best scorer on our bench. By a mile. Whether that's enough to convince anyone we should sign him is a different story. I get both sides of the argument.

I'm going to be happy for Adelman. If he's ready, I hope he gets his shot.
Malone has never had trouble finding good assistants.

It's only a matter of time before David Adelman finds a head coaching gig; If not this offseason, certainly within the next year. His name has been floating around as a HC possibility for a couple of years now.
I wish him well when that day comes. Good dude.

Watching the Finals reminds me (I know I’ve mentioned it as recently as when Naz Reid was pissing me off during the TWolves’ series) of another reason the Nuggets’ depth is poor — doing badly in the undrafted free agent market. The Celtics’ Sam Hauser played 22 minutes/game this season and in 3 NBA seasons now is a career 42% three point shooter. It’s not a shock, because in 4 college seasons as one of the main guys on two different teams (Marquette and Virginia) he shot 44% from three on 700+ attempts and was an 88% FT shooter. That wasn’t a shock either, as in his junior year of high school he shot 51% on threes and he was recruited by strong college programs.
At the NBA level, he’s a role player, but its not a tiny role by any stretch — he made 197 threes this season, which was 24th in the entire NBA and many more than every Nugget not named Porter, who made 220 threes. Hauser is an elite shooter.
The Nuggets have little to show for the undrafted free agent market since signing Torrey Craig in 2017 (and even that year the Mavs signed Maxi Kleber, a better player). There was Facu, but overall, they haven’t done well from this pool. It compounds a lot of unsuccessful draft picks — other than Porter, the Nuggets have not drafted a single NBA starter — on any team — since 2016.
