It may be a bad trade for Bridges since most Knicks players wind up injured.

Some fans don’t know or appreciate what we have. We were a healthy Jamal Murray away from reaching NBA Finals (we’d have won WCF, IMO), and would have had a punter’s chance at winning title again. You don’t break that up by passing on a doable kCP signing or trading one of Jamal or MPJ. That would mess with the long-built chemistry that could get us back to Finals. Nothing is guaranteed, as Charles Barkley proves repeatedly. Making panic changes on recency bias risks destroying remainder of Jokic era. But I’m about to ride up a funicular to a viewpoint of Bergen Norway, so just killing time spitballlng here. Oh! Bergen! Nicee Lucky with the weather today!

lol what an utterly ridiculous overpay. at least the Nets were on the positive side of these for once hopefully this means OG --> Philly and we lose another KCP rival. None of those are lottery picks and bridges is on a friendly contract for 2 more years. Good trade for both teams. dumped all of their draft capital. they're going to lose Hartenstein which is an actual position of need for them. and now this gives a team like the 76ers all the incentive in the world to offer OG a Godfather max to steal him from the Knicks. this is the type of gamble you take for Embiid, not Mikal f***ing Bridges lol.

If the Knicks are able to keep OG I love the move. If they lose OG well then they basically just traded 4 unprotected firsts for.........OG in another persons body.

the Knicks are far more likely to lose OG, which means the Nuggets would be more likely to retain KCP now
shout out to NY for always shooting us some bail

You're basically getting a slightly more versatile offensively OG Anunoby at probably 15M cheaper but he's only under contract for 2 years. And you traded 4 unprotected 1sts and a swap for it. It just makes no sense. Brunson - Divincenzo - Bridges - OG - Mitch Deuce - Hart - Achiuwa? That's a team that has a real chance at beating Boston. I'd still take Boston but they're equipped to beat them.

could be they just didn't want to commit a max to an extremely injury-prone player and see Bridges as the perfect third option. they have the leverage now to negotiate a better deal.
because the trade hard caps them at the first apron, they're going to have to make a Sophie's choice between Hart and OG. and picking OG leaves them horribly thin up front.

Nets are starting their fire sale.
Dennis for the Reggie/Zeke/FRP pu pu platter is the obvious choice, though trading any of Calvins goonies instead of the pick would be my presence.

Yeah but if you just swap OG for Bridges, that team isn't a true Championship contender. Even in the East. They'd be basically what they were this year aka the 2nd or 3rd best team in the conference when healthy.

Since the Nets are blowing it up, here’s my armchair GM deal of the day: Porter, Nnaji + future 1st to Nets for Johnson and Schroder. Works according to realgm and spotrac trade machines. ESPN says it’s about 300K off for Nets incoming but that will be wrong if the Nets get under the cap by waiving Bojan, who has only $2 mil guaranteed. BTW, if the Nets do that and get under the cap, the deal could include any of Strawther, Pickett or Tyson if they want any of those guys as a sweetener. Or Reggie if they want him as a “tank commander” for next season. Or both Reggie and one of the mentioned young guys (not Braun or Watson).

Yeah I'm not trading MPJ and a 1st for Cam Johnson. No thanks. I think adding Schroder to our backcourt rotation would be a big addition. He’s only under contract for 1 season but given the payroll concerns that’s a plus.
