Overstated, but relatively correct. Russ is a good enough offensive engine to keep a bench afloat and keep the team from having to run Jamal too hard in the regular season. And that itself may have made a huge difference in the playoffs. We have no idea if this is true. Bench could be even worse. I doubt that

Im shocked! Lmao Nuggets used to have great vibes. Now we have a GM that believe he is the GM Jesus. I bet Malone wanted to keep KCP. I bet Jokic also saw value in KCP.

Do we get a separate ring if we are the best of the cheap 1st apron teams?

I dont want to see one f***ing person that called KCP washed because his bad shooting playoff run give Russ excuses and say Russ isnt washed. Completely different roles though. Everyone knows Westbrook is washed to a certain degree. In Denver all he needs to do to be a successful player is play hard, get to the rim, facilitate and bring energy. I'm positive he will do that. Are there going to be times in every game where we're begging him to not shoot an open jumper and he does? Yes. But 1/3 times he'll make that jumper.

Booth definitely is an arrogant GM. When you think you're the smartest guy in the room.......you better be the smartest guy in the room. Worked out with CB/KCP. Blew up in his face with Pickett/Tyson and we'll see about Strawther. Booth has still done more good than bad but he should be on the hot seat if the Nuggets under achieve again. However, it's hard for me to kill the guy if Murray is all time bad in the playoffs again. Nothing Booth can do can offset the 2nd best player on the team being historically bad for an entire playoff run.

Durando correctly points out that Jackson, Holiday, and KCP collectively took over 28% of our 3s last year. We need massive, massive volume from Braun. Braun simply needs to do what kcp, holiday and Reggie couldn’t do - and that’s stop Anthony edwards (which he already has done). We win the banner it Braun and Watson stop edwards.

I will say tho -
Pickett gotta go.
How Justin holiday is not on this roster is beyond me.

Russ had a 8.11 Netrtg in the playoffs with Harden off the floor, which should give the Nuggets hope that he has enough juice in the tank. KCP is on his Wesley Matthews trajectory. which is fine, I'd take 32 year old Wes Mathews on the Nuggets. just not at 66m

My wild ass guess is that Malone is more upset that CG wasn’t retained and that Pickett was. He understands the second apron realities and KCP’s age going against us and resulting in his departure,. He probably does not understand how a kid he personally nurtured back to full health and good showings in games he was utilized never got a regular roster spot, but a no-hoper like Pickett, who BOOTH likes because he’s biased toward his Penn State fellow alum, is given that roster spot and kept instead.
Sometimes it’s the little things that get under the skin of a coach when it comes to the GM. The CG/Pickett situation might have caused Malone, who sees a lot of himself in CG as a former PG, to raise his voice in his interactions with Booth.

Malone is very clearly against Calvin's two-timeline strategy as a whole. he only warmed up to Braun, and that's because his defense was NBA ready from day 1. Malone wants vets, lots of them.

I think he warmed up to Watson too, but got rattled during playoffs and took him out of rotation. Watson was a good find by Booth at end of first round. He might have had lottery talent but never got the chance to show it at UCLA. As Ring said above, Booth has done both good and bad. So far, he gets an A for CB, PW, BB, and KCP when he took over after TC left. He gets a D- for this offseason so far, though it would have been a C- from me if Holmes hadn’t torn his Achilles in first SL game.

You can't even blame Malone. It's hard to have your cake and eat it too as they say. Jokic is in his prime...get him Championship caliber role players and bench.

It is quite normal to feel as Malone does, if you look from his point of view, he is most likely fired if Nuggets are not in WCF at minimum. Malone wants the "ready now" roster. Booth wants to be the "smart guy" and he has the room to be because Josh is not going to fire Calvin over Malone due to results. I would not be surprised if Kroenke's decide to sell the Nuggets for the right offer instead of doing something like GSW did to maximize Curry's prime and window. That press conference where all 3 of them were talking at the end of the season told me everything i need to know. Josh thinks about $ as #1,#2 and #3 priorities. Booth is there to make sure those priorities are not compromised and Malone is there to make the best of what he has or he will be the sacrificial lamb in case of similar playoff showing like last year. So, it's normal that Malone is not happy at all.

Im pretty sure letting KCP wasnt booths decision though. Probably from ownership

I also sense there is something to this because for one KCP was largely not a Booth decision anyway as that one comes straight from KSE refusing to go over the 2nd apron. I'm sure Calvin also understood an aging KCP that couldn't guard Edwards vs CB/Watson that could, was a change needing to happen anyway. In contrast Booth keeping Pickett over CG is a head scratcher that I'm sure irritates Malone. Even that probably had some KSE cheapness written over it given existing guaranteed contract for Pickett.
