Lets open this now. No point in waiting.
This series looks to be over. Wolves are 2-0 up, won both games in Denver, and now in game 3 Nuggets might be even without Murray who will face either fine or suspension. Jokic looks tired, AG looks spent, KCP is overwhelmed. The only one with any energy in that starting lineup is MPJ.
Nuggets have been totally outclassed in these two games, and honestly, can't see how they can come back from this. Its gotten to the point where people already talking they are going to get swept. And it looks like it.
With all that said, there is something, and I can't describe what, that is telling me this isn't over. I think Nuggets are going to win this series. I don't know why nor how, but we are going to win. This team hasn't look like last year champions all of the playoffs. There is no hunger, there is no urge, and they are injured and tired. And I don't think they have it. We saw it couple of times this season, they were capable of turning it on, and playing shut down defense in crunch time. But in this series, their defense is bad, really bad. I know they are held to 80 points, and everything is pointing towards offense, but if you ask me, its all about defense. You are not going to unlock that defense with half court offense. Wolves are playing hard, fouling Nuggets from first possession. But you know what happens when team plays like that? Refs are stop calling fouls. So you have to answer with same energy, same physicality. So that's what Nuggets have to do. Play physical. Get CB more minutes, he deserves it, and honestly, he is the guy who can bother Edwards more then KCP. And he is healthier then KCP. Aaron Gordon needs to find his balls and fight KAT. And Jokic needs to be ready to go into the dirt, and work like horse for every single bucket. Cause that's what is going to take. And I believe Nuggets are up for a challenge.
So call me crazy, but, Nuggets in 7... LFG!

you're crazy.
hopefully Silver suspends Jamal for both games so we can transition to the offseason without any serious injury risk.

That's not great, and if we could just cut our TO's down it would be even less. I think 90% of the issues are offense not defense. Personally.

If the last two games were close losses, I'd agree with you, but after watching the shitshow the last two games, there is no way. For the Nuggets to win the series they would have to get their s**t enirely together. There isn't a player on the team ready to do that. Cancun here they come (except Joker who is mentally already at DIA on his way to Sombor)

Just don’t want to get swept.
What an awful sad end to the season this has become
Silver lining is the games are less stressful. I’m just going to let things play out, hope I’m pleasantly surprised they steal one, get ready for summer and enjoy time with the fam.
And of course be completely confused with who denver picks at 25.

And of course be completely confused with who denver picks at 25. It's weird rock like...I almost feel like this is the best possible way for the Nuggets to go out. I knew the series was over after Game 1. Was very very afraid of the Wolves coming in for obvious reasons, they were our toughest matchup. The way they are going out at least is making it easy on the fans. The team is hurt, the games aren't stressful and instead are just disappointing. Outside of Jokic not having fire/leadership, I don't really take anything from this series. Murray is hurt. KCP is hurt. MPJ isn't good enough to be a #2. AG isn't skilled enough to be a #2/#3. It happens. This team was built where the starting 5 had to be completely healthy and they simply aren't. It sucks but that's basketball. It takes a lot of luck to win a Championship. Like I'd feel way worse about my life as a fan if the Nuggets were losing heartbreakers. They just are getting dominated by a better team because they are hurt and weren't prepared to play a team this physical. It happens. I never thought I'd see a Nuggets championship. I got one. I'll always be content and it'll always be in my mind. Obviously I want more than 1 but it's hard to flip out and get that upset nowadays. You can't win every year. I more so get upset that we have to wait 7 more months for basketball but at the same time I have to be honest and say this regular season I wasn't into the team like I previously was. I really think things changed for me after the ring. I'm still upset/disappointed but there's no reason to let it affect my every day life lol Also we are 100% getting swept. I'd genuinely be surprised if either of the next 2 games are within 12 points. That Minnesota team was built properly and the culture they have established is A++++. They're like the Nuggets from last year but Ant has the killer/mamba gene. And he's 22. It's just scary.

I hope we get swept.
I hope we lose the next two games by a combined 100 points.
the FO had insulated themselves in this self-congratulatory bubble after winning a championship and was operating under the assumption that Calvin Booth was some basketball genius that had gamed the system. they are now reaping what they sowed.
this is the only way they are going to change course, maximum embarrassment to their collective ego.

They're just going to use the injury excuse man. Peyton will be a year older, bigger role. CB same thing. You don't think that's what those guys are going to think internally? They built the team/drafted those guys. They're not swallowing their pride and admitting they were wrong.

still can't believe they traded into the 2023 draft and clogged the roster with a whole bunch of mid when the one clear NBA ready prospect (Jaquez) could've been had if they just pooled all those picks together and traded up. it was a slow moving car crash at the time and 100x worse in retrospect.

Calvin thought he was the smartest guy in the room. Basically everything he did the Championship year worked out perfectly. This year it's been the opposite. He simply believed way too much in his guys. Surrounding a Championship team with a young bench was always a disaster waiting to happen.

Jaquez would have been great. I was telling scooter about him since his sophomore year at UCLA and he and Johnny Juzang led the Bruins to Final 4. If not for Jalen Suggs, Jaquez mighta won a chip. Adam Mares wanted us to get him too, fwiw.

I won't be watching this game and the rest of the series. Back to Knicks basketball only for me. However, I wish you fine gentlemen the best of luck the rest of the series against Minnesota.
In case, Denver advances to the WCF, I'll be back posting. Otherwise, I will post occasionally in the summer and next season.

Outside of anything family related, 6/12/23 will probably be the greatest day of my life. I never thought the nuggets would ever even get close to a title. Sports are an amazing, crazy and often frustrating part of life that non sports fans will never understand. I guess sort of like how I don’t get how people are entertained by watching the kardasians. 🤷♂️ But for some reason if you take taller than average guys from Serbia, Canada, Missouri, California and Georgia, make them all wear the same clothes and then throw a ball into a ring more often than 5 other tall dudes for 48 minutes, it means a lot to me. I love the game. I love sports. It brings so much joy and so much pain but we all keep watching. Wish the nuggets wouldn’t go out like this but come draft day, training camp, pre season and the season opener I’ll still be rooting for them as much as ever.

Winning a title last season does ease the reality the Nuggets are getting absolutely destroyed. Gut feeling is Denver wins a game but this series is toast anyway.
I'm officially more interested to watch this off-season play out. Given this early playoff exit, I don't see anyway KSE stays above the 2nd tax apron although a number of ways to make that happen. The most likely is KCP opting out and KSE telling Calvin that KCP isn't coming back. Also sense we are approaching the end of the AG, MPJ, and Jamal "next 3" trio behind Jokic as one of them may be shipped out for a 6th man (Bruce Brown like) and a legit backup 4/5.
