I love the age of aprons and parity.
MPJ calibre players should not be getting the max and I'm glad the league is forcing idiot GMs to spend rationally.

Honestly feel like current NBA is at the lowest point it's been since Lebron came into the league. The on-court product sucks. The off the court stuff is just really annoying. The new CBA is really bad for the league. It's just a s**t show at this point. Like that had to be the worst finals of all time right? None of the games were even close really. Just a complete borefest. Not sure what Adam Silver and co need to do but you're definitely not going to grow the game with the way the NBA is going. It's just really trending downhill from both an on court and off court perspective which is a shame as there is still really great players in the league that can be marketed better. the whole playoffs was a boredfest,, even the nuggets

don't love the Celtics added another banner, but do the precedent that a good not great team won the ship. this is what I dreamt of as a Nugget team pre-Joker. like I said earlier, the Celtics are like the rich mans version of the 2012 Nuggets. I'm sure Karl is beaming on X right now. Bad analogy. Boston has two AllStars and others on the fringes, The 2012/13 Nuggets had Gallo, Chandler, Faried, Lawson, Iggy, and teamness. Nothing similar about those two teams. the key three words in my post being rich mans version. Tatum and Brown level players are second tier stars, the best the Nuggets could hope for pre-Joker.

Jaylen Brown wins Finals MVP, rightfully deserved. Would have been sick to my stomach if Tatum won it.
That being said, whens the last time a non top 10 player won a finals MVP?
Also is fun that there's no passing of the baton and no stupid argument that the Finals MVP automatically becomes the best player in the world. Jokic still holds the crown for at least 1 more year. Hope the Nuggets are serious about putting a better team around him next year (I have absolutely zero faith they will) because the man really really deserves some help after what he's done the past 4 seasons.

If you take away Knicks/Sixers you basically didn't have a single memorable series. You can say Nuggets/Wolves but almost all of the games were blowouts. The actual NBA product is horrific right now. Parity isn't always a good thing. The ratings are always better when you have a few elite teams. Kobe/Shaq Lakers, MJs Bulls, Lebron in general, etc. You need that. If different teams are making the finals every year it's extremely bad for the league because there's no storylines that fans can get attached to. This finals you had Boston and Dallas, 2 of the bigger TV markets in the US and it's going to most likely do less viewers than Denver/Miami.

Rich man comparisons don't even work because they have 2 players who are drastically better than Gallo/Lawson etc. Gaps to wide for the rich man's comparison. Celtics get underrated. Tatum/Brown's potential to meltdown in any given game lowers there ceiling but at their best it's a pretty great team. Tons of depth and lots of talent.

I think Brown has an argument as the 10th best player in the league. He's certainly ahead of frauds like Devin Booker. I'd even rank him ahead of Embiid who is a playoff catastrophe.
But your sentiment is correct. This Boston team is incredibly well balanced. It's outrageous that they could add two all-stars to a team that already had Tatum and Brown.
Meanwhile the Nuggets are in a position where if KCP leaves we're praying for... the return of Gary Harris?!
Booth and Kroenke owe it to Jokic to make big moves to improve this team.

I do but I've already accepted that my passion for the Nuggets is going to dip once Jokic retires. It honestly dipped after the Championship. Still my favorite team in all of sports but if you put a gun to my head I'd much rather a Bills Super Bowl (my NFL team lol) than another Nuggets ring. I never take for granted that we're in a golden era and Jokic is going to be the best Nugget we ever get to watch play basketball. That being said, I wouldn't mind us turning into the modern day Spurs where we just hit on an all time great every decade (Robinson, Duncan, Manu, Kawhi, Wemby) lol

Superteams are a disaster for franchises like the Nuggets, etc. Because the superstar free agents won't come here. The new CBA restrictions give every franchise hope that if you draft well you can be competitive. f**k the Lakers and the leg ups they've gotten for decades.

NBA is about to sign record rights deals with NBC, ESPN, and Amazon. Possibly TNT gets a slice. Total rights will double the $2.7 billion received in the last cycle. NBA salary cap will rise by 10% a year throughout the life of these rights deals, and the NBA franchises will still have record profitability even with RSN revenues withering away. The league has never been in better shape under Silver. You can hate the aesthetics, but it’s a thriving business.

Jokic, Luka, Giannis, Embiid, Steph, Lebron, Shai, Brunson are the clear top 8 in the NBA to me. After that it gets tricky but I think I'd still take AD/KD over Tatum. Jaylen Brown has to jump Tatum too after both Finals runs they've had. He's been better each Finals and has the Finals MVP.

That being said, whens the last time a non top 10 player won a finals MVP? Tatum's probably a top 10 guy. Maybe if you ignore durability amd hammer him fir his low points than you could leave him out. People will start remembering the monster games now that he's git a ring tho. I agree with everything else. Nobody's calling him the best player and Brown deserved the FMVP. I think Tatum makes like 80% of top 10 lists at this point tho.

The league has never been in better shape under Silver. You can hate the aesthetics, but it’s a thriving business. That's only because cable is dead and the only thing that can keep subscribers is live sports, hence why they over-pay for all of the major sports leagues. Also to be completely transparent I don't really care about the business of the NBA because it doesn't affect my enjoyment of the game/the Nuggets. I do feel like the on-court product is the worst it's been in an extremely long time. 3 point era really has hurt the game IMO.
