I honestly think Steve balmer questions how much longer he will live - thus - going all in
Also, the new Intuit Arena opens next year - so it really behooves the clips to make some kind of playoff run so more boxes and ads sell
This team will have some playoff success but it’ll be garbage overall - that clips rebuild is going to last for quite awhile!

I actually like it for the Clippers. They aren't winning with the current core and George/Leonard are 32/33. They aren't winning s**t with them but maybe they got hot and go on a run and a couple rounds. Harden is Harden come playoff time but atleast gives them a little insurance when the injury bugs hit. Far from perfect but there isn't a perfect answer for the Clippers.

It very foolish to think Ballmer is wasting money (as popularized in sports media). He is a known loss-harvester and Clippers are just another part of it [1]. On top of that add all the trickery about the land for the arena that had MSG looking like idiots [2] and it's clear he's very much in it for the money as for the personal entertainment.

I actually think the Clippers are going to continue giving Bones heavy mins.
Their current roster is pretty devoid of big men. Honestly, they're going go keep one big on the floor from rebounds, and from there, positions 1 thru 4 are just gonna CHUCK.
No playmaking... no screens... just f***ing chuck it.
This is actually the perfect situation for Bones.

Balmer's team literally rewrote tax policy, which I love - depreciating contracts??? Incredible. My point tho is that - I don't think Balmer expects to live a long life. Soooo.... he wants a banner now, picks be damned.

Harden will not do much to make his dream come true.

I still don't know what to think about the Clippers. All of their "big 4" were at one time really good players. They can all still be the best player on the court some games. But there's no way they stay healthy for a whole regular season, and I strongly suspect at least 2 of the 4 will be in *bad* shape by the second round of the playoffs. But if they all happen to get enough rest and avoid injuries, they could come into the playoffs as the kind of team that could knock off anybody. Like if they're the 6 seed and they come in against an inexperienced 3-seeded TWolves team, do they advance and then have a series where they just go off against a 2-seed GSW team? But they could also show up in the playoffs and get swept in the first round.

I don’t see the deal panning out for the Clippers. Its just too much weirdness on one roster.

If Harden and Westbrook couldn't win together when they were young with a healthy Durant, they won't win together now that they're old and playing next to two glass cannons like George and Leonard.

Suns just choked a game away to the Spurs because of ball handling and turnovers... and this is with Allen, Gordon, and Goodwin as the point guards instead of Beal and Booker. Turnovers per 36 minutes, career: Allen: 1.3 Goodwin: 1.9 Gordon: 2.2 Beal: 2.6 Booker: 3.3
Team is averaging 16.25 turnovers per game.

They need a floor general and there isn't one on their roster. Paul aged out of the role but instead of replacing him they just decided to hoard shooting guards.

Spurs +2 in offensive rebounds, +2 in steals, +2 in blocks, +5 in FTA, and -7 turnovers. And all of those things came up down the stretch. Suns don't have good ball handling, and they don't have good non-soft size. Like Eubanks is their only big who I think plays like a big. Both of those weaknesses could end up costing them a lot this season.

Jay Huff has been cleared for action.
It took expanding the rosters to 18 to do it, but I think this is the first time in several years the Nuggets have had 17 healthy bodies. CG missed all of last year, Murray missed all of the year prior, and the year prior to that we were duct taped together for much of it. Minus Vlatko, whom we knew was down for the year anyway, this is as healthy as we can be.

Who’s going to guard MPJ, AG, Murray, Jokic and KCP. We beat them by 20 every game, 4-0
