Just because Jokic doesn't care doesn't mean Embiid should've been rewarded for his three year media campaign. Jokic was the best player last year and it wasn't close. Jokic is literally having an all time great peak right now and it should be reflected in the awards, but it isn't. Like LeBron and Jordan before him, he's been screwed over.

OK — change of subject.
Former Nuggets assistant Jordi Fernandez now head coach of the Nets. I wish him luck. He’s going to need it.

I hope the Nets give Jordi the grace period he deserves. we all know the coach is the first to get scapegoated (#firemalone) but a team led by Mikal Bridges is not destined to win many games.

Look at how crazy close this vote was: Of course the NBA had to ruin all the mystery and intrigue by announcing the only two awards whose winners were in question first.

Steph Curry Clutch Player of the Year. I’ve never heard of this award. Is it new?

Steph Curry Clutch Player of the Year. I’ve never heard of this award. Is it new? 2nd year. Named the trophy after Jerry West. Went to De'Aaron Fox last year.

Seems kind of silly to announce more stuff after the MVP but oh well. KCP has been gunning for All-Defensive Team all year but I don't think he'll get it unfortunately.

Tyrese Maxey wins the Sportsmanship Award.
Maybe he can explain to Embiid what that is.

Sportmanship Award is my least favorite participation trophy
they might as well call it the 'Thank You For Not Being Draymond Green or Patrick Beverely' award. the barest of minimum.

Australia and France have announced their preliminary Olympic rosters. Australia still has 5 cuts to make and France still has 7, but at the moment our old pals Jack White and Evan Fournier are on their respective national rosters.

Puerto Rico still has a chance to qualify. I wonder if Strawther will be on the squad? They added Markus Howard to their roster last week.
Howard won the Euroleague scoring title this year.

Edey 7'3.75" barefoot at the combine. So probably over 7'5" in shoes, and he grew half an inch since he measured 7'3.25" last year.

Maybe it's just me but Edey seems like a typical big stiff that is able to be impactful at the college level mostly because his size is overwhelming. In the NBA I don't know if he has enough skill to make up for his lack of agility. But that said, as a 2nd round pick and a backup big to play 15-20 mpg, there are certainly worse guys taking up roster spots right now.
