Didn’t see if it was posted here yet but MPJ’s interview with Josh Kroenke was a great listen. There are lots of great background into things like drafting MPJ and building the team around Jokic. Link? Edit; nvm. I see it’s been posted

Naz should've been a Nugget.
can't believe they're going to give Gogurt another DPOY when he's going to be played off the floor in the playoffs again (-68 +/- against the Suns this season). I know it's a regular season award, but there's about 0% chance Jokic would be a 3xMVP if he kept losing in the first round.

OG Anunoby is the dpoy. I don't why the 65 game threshold applies to this award, it's not most valuable defensive player of the year. it should go to the absolute best, which is OG. he has superstar impact without being a superstar.
so I would give the award to Herbert Jones, whose defensive impact is also out this world.

Gobert is worth the DPOY. It's a regular season award and he's the center for the #1 defense in the NBA. Gobert/Wemby are the only real options. OG/Herb Jones are fantastic defenders but the big is always going to get more credit because guarding 2 > guarding 1.

defensive metrics will always be biased towards bigs due to the rebounding advantage.
if Jokic had Melo's playoff record up to this point, would he be winning his third MVP right now?
it shouldn't matter, right?
at some point, there has to be some acknowledgement from the voters that Rudy's defensive impact usually craters when the games actually matter.
if the T'Pups had either OG or Herb instead of Gobert, they would be favorites over the Suns right now.

I view MVP and DPOY completely different. I don't think winning plays as big of a factor because it's only one side of the ball. Is it Goberts fault that for most of his career he was covering up for atrociously bad perimeter defenders? Look at those Utah teams. I don't see him getting exposed that badly in this series.

I thought Gobert defended Jokic extremely well in last years series. There's just no stopping the offensive GOAT 1 on 1.
Also Gobert was -28 in Game 1. So he was +10 the rest of the series. And I still maintain that was easily the toughest series the Nuggets played. If McDaniels/Reid were healthy that was going 7.
What's funny is that Phoenix is a scarier team to me than Minnesota, but it's a way better matchup for Murray. Just like the Lakers are a lot scarier than the Pelicans, but the Pelicans are a much tougher matchup for Murray.
TLDR - I expect Murray to be playoff Murray. I am very worried about MPJ/AG though. AG hasn't seemed right to me defensively most of the year.

AG will be alright. motivation/consistency has always plagued his career but he knows what the Nuggets need from him right now.

Nuggets have been a good defensive team all year. I think they’ll find another level in the post season. Offensively, more of Jokic + Murray is always a good thing. Only concern is Murray’s body holding up.

24 MVP 1st place votes are known.
21 are for Jokic. Still just Broussard, Stephen A, and Kendrick Perkins voting for someone else.
