Until now, the two losses that I remember hurting the most were 2009 WCF game 3 and game 7 loss to Portand at home
Fortunately I did get over them eventually. Pretty quickly if I remember correctly. I still remember the games. Still sucks but the pain and frustration are gone
Losing in the nba finals? This is going to be rough

Nuggets fans should relax and realize this year isn’t their only shot. Jokic and Murray are not going anywhere.

Did a little math and vegas has us about 40% to beat the Celtics It’s possible to win but the “what ifs” are killing me. I don’t know how long, if ever, until I get over a finals loss. We aren’t Miami, Boston, golden state, LA, Milwaukee, or even the spurs back in the day where you lose the finals and it’s ok - you’ll make it back This may be our only chance. It’s so insanely tough to make it this far (took denver 50 years) I’m not going to make it until Thursday and even though I fully expect a loss, when reality kicks in it’s going to be the worst sports experience I’ve ever gone through. 6 of our 8 playoff rotation guys are signed for next year including all five starters. Jokic, Murray, MPJ, Gordon, Braun, and Watson are all signed for 2025 and KCP has a player option. Jokic, Porter, Braun, and Watson are signed for 2026 and Gordon has a player option. Jokic and Porter are signed for 2027. We have our firsts in 2024 and 2026. We still have a lot of guys 25 and under (Watson, Braun, Gillespie, Nnaji, Porter, White, Kamagate). We're a dynasty in the making. All we need is a few quality finds in free agency like we got with Bruce this year.

Y’all are coping very well. I think the reason most of you are having an easier time feeling okay about what happened last night is that, on average, you’re about 40 years younger than me. I could taste what would likely have been our first championship. The Finals against Miami would have been our’s to lose. 80%+ chance, at least, that we have a parade. You know how long oldsters like myself and TNF have waited? For me, almost 40 years. For TNF, add a decade to that. This was our best chance. We may not ever get to the point of having an 80% chance at a chip again in our remaining lives. For you guys who might live 40 years further into the future than us geezers? There’s always next year, next decade. Maybe even a title in the year 2065 when I’m either 111 or, more likely, dead! Bro - my wife and I watched the game last night and cheered hard for the heat. Boston played better tho. I can’t be that upset at the result. As others have said tho - Boston is utterly beat up right now (look no further than their 3 point shooting as confirmation. Not to mention our size advantage, and that their pivotal 6th man is injured (partially b/c the ECF has been so grueling). Our guys are getting a massive benefit of rest, thanks to shutting the lakers down so swiftly. On paper, no team is built to destroy the Celtics more than us, with a long stable of perimeter defenders. Honestly - we actually match up more advantageously with the C’s than the heat - heat have some size, with the shooting - Celtics have more quickness (which we can match) but no size. Booth built this roster to destroy the Celtics. Really not worried about either outcome.

I literally walk around all day lamenting a finals series loss, 4 days before it’s even started. Every once in awhile I’ll catch myself and think “game 1 is Thursday” but it doesn’t help much. I know you guys are annoyed by my pessimism but this is where I vent. It helps to get some of these feelings out. It’s like NT is my sports therapist for my sports depression. This is literally unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I do appreciate you guys and reading all the posts. Even jimi who I know hates when I post 😅 Anyways the ride has been amazing, unexpected and stressful. Glad to experience it with you guys but in about ten days I’ll probably have to disappear for awhile.

Glad to experience it with you guys but in about ten days I’ll probably have to disappear for awhile. You in the game 4 WCF thread: "In what? It’s a blowout We can never have nice things The next two days are going to be absolutely brutal "
... "Yup Knew this game was going to be bad Now game 5 is must win and we have to endure 48 hours of laker fans and media “the lakers are back in it! They figured it out! They are coming back to win the series!” I need to stay away from all social media" You in the game 3 WCF thread: "Great yes, in that we cannot have a bigger lead after 2 games than 2-0. We held serve. We did the best we could But now the lakers have 3 of the last 5 in their place. Where they haven’t lost once. If we lose tonight the series changes. Then game 4 is must win for us and we are 72 hours from basically win or go home. Somehow we have to win one of the next 2 and I don’t see how that’s possible" ... "this series isnt over. all it takes is one lakers win in game 3 (which they are favored) and the series flips. it then becomes a must win for us. on the road. in a game where they have all the momentum. 2-0 is nothing. I hope the team is focused and not taking this lakers team lightly. this series is NOT over" You in the game 2 WCF thread: "It was a fun run guys But this series is over The nba gets its wish again" ... "Yeah but let’s not forget - if the lakers win (because of rui or anyone else) we are going to get destroyed by the media. They will create whatever stories they want to fit their narratives. Not to mention we have to goto LA and they have stolen homecourt A loss tonight could be the end of the series for us"

Let the Celtics and Heat merge and Nuggs will likely still emerge victorious. Team with best player usually wins

Faci: I’m aware that sometimes my predictions aren’t 100% correct
But this is just what I believe unfortunately. I do try to take solace in knowing that since I’ve been wrong before , maybe I’ll be wrong again. The stress is incredible however

Miami is now gonna be glad just to make it if they win. Their confidence has to be down, god I hope they pull off the win tonight.
Denver in 5 if they do. Maybe 4.
