It really does deserve a ton of credit from the Nuggets FO/ownership doing all that. Maxing Murray/MPJ that early? I wouldn't have done it. I thought it was insane and the numbers absolutely backed it up. They basically said f**k leverage .. let's build culture. If you don't it changes things. It was a super ballsy move. Holding them both when you have a generational superstar and your paying all that money and it's just leading to disappointment? I absolutely pull the trigger on certain deals and I've always been a big fan of both. Imagine paying Grant and not getting Gordon? Gordon buying into the culture 100% was massive. Could have easily fired Malone so many times and he ends up being exactly what we needed when it mattered most.
Nuggets have basically prioritized patience, being player/coach friendly, and focusing on culture since the start and got the ultimate reward. Makes it so much sweeter even if it was annoying at times when it didn't work out. Nurkic, Bones, all those "nice" and "friendly" moves eventually paid off because you had a team of guys that went all in. Genuinely feels like the good guys won which at time has felt like a rarity in the NBA.

He’s basically the same size, tough nosed defender, can generally hit the three ball and finish at the rim. Could be a secondary ball handler. Difference is durability and versatility. Brown has a unique ability to play bigger than he is, particularly on defense. Also not sure we could afford to bring Gary back anyway. Man, Bruce is gonna be tough to replace. |

Disagree on Garis.
What we'll miss most about BB is his ability to drive and score - that was HUGE during the playoffs. PWat and Braun will be defensive additions - but if BB doesn't come back, what we need is someone who can just drive with ease, with the 2nd unit.
