This. 40 turnovers (!!!) in that game, and that wasn’t because of any kind of all-world defense. The Wolves were a complete mess in the 4th quarter and overtime despite Conley doing his best to carry them. (Tim Connelly has a real challenge on his hands with that very expensive yet disastrous looking team —- they owe KAT and Gobert a combined $392 mil —- very ouch!).

It wasn’t a particularly fast paced game and Lebron was gassed well before the end of the 4th quarter. The Lakers did get a couple of questionable calls/non-calls down the stretch — I’ll concede that — but overall they’re not scary and beating them in the first round would have fun.

My 1st round opponent preference in order:

1.Thunder (lack of playoff experience)
2.Pelicans (because Zion is injured and will miss 1st round)
3.Wolves (in disarray due to Gobert incident)

for no other reason than Malone has no idea how to game plan against Ingram and will be compelled to play Watson big minutes.

I think the Pels are the hardest matchup for us even with Zion out. Thunder are easiest. Wolves might be in disarray but I still think they have the potential to be tougher.

I like the Pelicans matchup because Jokic eats JV alive. They have no one to guard him. They do have some length which might make it a little tough for Murray and MPJ though. Can Murray play well while being guarded by Herb Jones? It's a tough matchup for him. 

I really like KCP on McCollum but Ingram is a really tough matchup for AG. I wouldn't mind seeing MPJ guard Ingram because he's more of a smooth/polished player than one that's going to beat you off the dribble/explode to the rim. MPJs lenght in the past has bothered some of Ingrams shots.

Obviously the Thunder are the easiest matchup but the Wolves still have that 2 big lineup that is the go-to in order to beat Denver. Towns on Jokic, Gobert roaming in help side. AG isn't going to make his 3s and even if he drives to the rim he'd still have to finish over Gobert. Not to mention that Finch knows Jokic well and Edwards always plays well against Denver.

No matter who we get, the Nuggets need to win the series in 5 or less if they want any real success. The Suns are probably going to make quick work of the Clippers so the Nuggets can't be killing themselves in a 7 game series against a team that SHOULD be dead for Game 1 after playing b2b Game 7s with just 24 hours of rest in between.

I'd bet my life that Malone would try Jeff on Ingram in that series.

My take is basically:

(1) I understand that it's fun to be the game-thread starter, and that if we don't have some kind of rules/expectations it turns into sometimes multiple people starting threads at once, so I like having a rule (winner keeps making threads; only posters with X amount of posts can start threads; no weird racists or whatever)

(2) The superstitions are dumb, and the posts about them can get to be pretty excessive, and there's a lot of weird conflict that basically amounts to "I'm going to pick a fight with someone because the wrong person started / stickied / posted in a game thread for my fake superstitions with made-up completely wrong statistics."
