How does this man still have a job at ESPN? Precisely because he's an idiot. This is a network that employs Stephen A Smith, Pablo Torre, Mike Wilbon, Kendrick Perkins, Brian Windhorst, Chris Berman....

I cannot understand how anyone can not have jokic on their ballot. You could literally hate jokic wirh all your heart and it’s still a slam dunk top 3 vote.
I wish these people were held accountable. How can he have a vote anymore? He is clearly incapable of making correct decisions. He doesn’t know the nba.

For decades nobody got 100% of the HOF vote because a bunch of traditionalist dickheads didn't want anyone to get a higher percentage of the vote than Babe Ruth. That means multiple Hall of Fame voters saw a ballot with the names Willie Mays Hank Aaron Greg Maddux Ted Williams Joe DiMaggio Nolan Ryan Bob Gibson Jackie Robinson Rickey Henderson Roberto Clemente Frank Robinson Stan Musial etc And they voted "no, these guys don't belong in the Hall of Fame" And those clowns got to keep their votes. It's literally the same reasoning they used to deny Jokic this year. "Jordan never got 3 in a row, so now nobody else can either"

"Jordan never got 3 in a row, so now nobody else can either" I get not wanting to vote jokic first I can completely see putting embiid or giannis ahead of him. Even without “voter fatigue” I’m asking how do you not have jokic on the ballot at all? It makes your nba opinion completely irrelevant. It would be like giving Martha Stewart an mvp vote. How does mark jackson not receive backlash for this?

rock 22 hours ago It’s strange how little this bothers me. I just want playoff wins. These awards, stats, records etc mean so little I agree with past rock. Jackson is an idiot, let it go.

I honestly don’t care that jokic didn’t win but mark jackson leaving him off of his top 5 does bother me. There needs to be accountability

multiple things can be true at once:
- a championship is much more important than all of the individual awards - I like when a player on our team, or a player who I like watching, wins an individual award and it's OK to celebrate that kind of thing - Usually these awards are meaningful and given to deserving players - sometimes the awards are given to less-deserving players for narrative reasons - Jokic was the better player during the part of the season he wasn't coasting, by an enormous margin - Jokic coasting allowed Embiid to get close enough that the narrative won out - anyone who left any one of Jokic, Embiid, or Giannis off of their ballot did something clownish and should be considered not trustworthy to vote on MVP in the future

Mark Jackson's explanation: he should have put Jokic in the top 3. When he filled out his MVP ballot he wasn't thinking and put one center, 2 forwards, 2 guards as if it was a first-team ballot.
... wow.

Lots of bullshit/ridiculousness, it would have been nice for him to win it, he probably should have .. but he clearly didn't care down the stretch so it is what it is and now it's time for him to get a ring which will be the ultimate f**k you.
