Yeah if I'm the Pelicans I wouldn't trade him. Holiday also turns 30 before next season. LaVine/Beal are younger.
Beal would be my first choice. He was a solid defender at one point and he had a 5 year stretch where he was averaging 2+ 3's per game on .394%. When Harris was good he and a 22 year old Beal had very similar games. Beal was just able to expand his game. I think in Denver he'd average 20-24 PPG and his efficiency/shooting would be similar to what it was a few years ago when he wasn't the #1 priority for opposing defense's. He'd have alot more energy on the defensive side on the Nuggets as well.
Just took a quick peak and 36% of Beal's 2 pointers are assisted, and 64% of his 3's. In '16-17 when he shot 60% TS on 23 PPG 49% of his 2 point field goals were assisted, and 80% of his 3's were. His situation in Denver would be far more similar to that than what he's doing this year carrying an entire offense.

What is the position of need/player of need in the buyout market for TC? At this point we all know that he will get someone. Anyone up for suggestion/guessing game?
I have looked at the list of the players available and that are on the potential buyout market to be and picked these 3 as most likely candidates imo:
(assuming that position of need is most likely a shooting guard)
1. C.J. Miles (I have a good reason to think that he is the most likely candidate) 2. Marco Belinelli (Would be the player i would prefer, if he ends up on the buyout market - big IF) 3. Jamal Crawford (Long shot, he is old at 39, was out for a year, but maybe, just maybe he can bring some spark for few minutes if needed)

no one we pick of waivers will even play. Like Craig didn't even play last night
our players just need to play at the level we seem to think they are at. Not counting Jokic who is awesome

maybe cash in on MPJ if he doesnt improve the next months Maybe cash in on Malone if he doesnt improve the next months. I'll take KD 2.0 over Mark Jackson 2.0 any day.

you all want teams to gift us gamechangers. You dont want to teade beas, no murray, no mpj. why would anyone deal with us?
i suggested the same last year with Beasley and got a similar reaction. Yet the same people will complain that we didn't trade him sooner.

I was a big advocate of trading for Covington and that was without the knowledge of how high the Timberwolves FO was on Malik. we could've done Plumlee+Malik without giving a pick but Tim would've missed Mason's friendship too much or something.

imagine
Murray/Harris/Covington/Grant/Jokic
with
Monte/Barton/MPJ/Millsap
off the bench.
with Bart playing crunch time minutes
but that lineup would require a coach who isn't extremely sensitive to the feelings of his Trust Guys.

The decision was made to pursue an upgrade at SG rather than Covington. Ultimately, MPJ is our SF of the future and everyone knows it. You might as well trade mpj too if you’re going to get Covington, because now you give Malone plenty of reason to never play mpj and completely skewer his confidence.

I honestly think RoCo's presence would increase MPJs minutes. if Malone is happy with the defense, there's less panicky "I have to play Craig and Plumlee over MPJ" thinking.

It seems to me that Grant is pretty close to the same player as Covington. With Millsap and Grant in the fold, I don't see how adding Covington would increase Porter's minutes. There are only so many minutes at forward, and for now at least Barton is still the starter at SF. They already have 2 combo forwards in the rotation in Grant and Porter. For years, Nuggets fans wanted Covington. But once they got Grant, and Porter was able to play, I don't think there was a natural role for Covington.

as the Clippers game painfully demonstrated, this team could use another Grant.
I've long said this teams ceiling is limited playing an undersized SG at the 3 spot. having Covington would possibly give Malone the incentive to bring Barton off the bench give the starting lineup the defensive versatility/length to compete with the Clippers/Lakers.
and Malone is probably going to DNP MPJ after the Warriors game so I don't think his situation would be any worse than it is right now.

RoCo would have been amazing. not sure it was ever on the table.

teams are constantly putting out feelers making calls to teams about players they like.
it's unlikely the deadline was the first time Tim heard about the Wolves interest in Beasley,
