Only good thing about Malone is he leading the tank. Whether he knows it or not.

I know we all hate Brian Shaw, but this is the same main group of dudes who put minimal effort into his coaching regime. He deserved to go, but how many coaches do we go through before we decide this Faried/Gallo/Chandler led locker room probably needs to have some fresh voices in it? Just keep quitting on coaches until Pop decides to take on a pity project?
It's like anything - sometimes a change of scenery helps everybody. FWIW, we applaud Gallo and Chandler signing and wanting to stay here, but at some point, don't you kind of wonder why they'd waste their peak years in this type of situation? Maybe something personality-wise that could also lead to kind of going through the motions from time to time?
I love Chandler, but I think you need stronger leadership voices in your locker room from your guys who play big minutes. I think he works phenomenally well as a complementary piece. I don't think this is the role for him. Nothing wrong with that. Not everybody is wired the same. Still like his game and really like the guy.

The 6+ years of Faried/Gallo/Chandler needs to end. That's been our core...pfft.

I love it. Maybe just remove the bad voices in the locker room since we've been playing this game for years now. How many signings or moves do we have to make to baby the locker room? If you have Boogie Cousins level talent, maybe you grit your teeth through his baggage. If you have Kenneth Faried level talent, you f***ing get rid of them and don't give it a second thought.
Nobody on this roster outside of Jokic is indispensable enough to hold onto with gritted teeth while they cause issues in the locker room, and Jokic is the opposite of that kind guy anyway.

I think it could be Butler, if not Millsap. He was someone I bet we had an interest in last year, and word is the Bulls are willing to trade him.
Or maybe it's Wall.

Just don't trade our pick, jokic or Murray.

Then what exactly do we have to offer?
John Wall IS a superstar. If we make Jokic untradable literally everything else has to be on the table.

Butler is a shitty vet from what I've read.

I don't want any of these guys when clearly our roster has much bigger issues that no one short of a top ten player can fix. And we aren't getting one of them But if we draft right, maybe we can have one in the next 5 years. What other option do we have? Keep rotating role players in and out of this mess?

I think there are bigger issues in the Nuggets locker room than Malone. I'm thinking the core group of players don't have any leadership qualities. I love Gallo, Chandler, and Faried, but these are the type of veteran players that need to be stepping up when s**t hits the fan. Unfortunately, and based on Malone's comments that's not happening right now. The players aren't holding each other accountable. All of you that have played organized sports knows what this is about. A teammate calling you out hurts a lot more than a coach yelling at you. That is the other issue with not having a star quality player on this team that will step up and take charge and hold teammates accountable. While I like the vets on the team, it might be time to move some pieces for veteran leadership.

Just don't trade our pick, jokic or Murray. I'd like to pull Jokic off the table, but if the Nuggets are going after a Butler or Wall (which is just our make believe wishes at this point), we have to be wiling to trade Nurkic, Harris, Mudiay, Murray and picks to make it happen.

Also, what's concerning to me in the post game interviews is that Malone, as others have stated here, is making comments similar to Shawful. Gallo/Chandler/Faried have been here 6 seasons and played under Shawful and Shawful 2.0 (Malone). I'm not trying to defend Shaw or Malone, but perhaps Gallo/Chandler/Faried lack professionalism, are too entitled, or are just too "Me, me me..". Throw a Nelson into the mix and bam, the coach loses the locker room.
I don't know. Gallo b*****es on the court a lot, but then announcers and studio hosts like Hanzlik will say Gallo didn't have a case. I remember when Gallo had a good game under Shaw and in the post game was snide in saying, "Well yea, I can play." Faried, for all his Manimal and hustle ways, has times where he just calls it quits. Ill Will just walked off the court after getting pulled without consequence it seems. I'm from Cincinnati and grew up playing the favorite sport in the city- baseball. The mantra is always respect and play the game like Pete Rose - all-out effort, hustle, heart and soul. If you dogged it on a diamond or sulked like Ill Will your coach made dam sure you weren't playing and delivered a message. Shawful and Malone don't do that. Our core babies run the show.
I think too many Denver fans, this board included, overrate Gallo and Chandler. The Manimal gets hyped because the Nuggets can sort of market him.
End it now. No more Gallo/Chandler/Faried. It's a joke we tried to be a playoff team with these three as center pieces.

Everything this season seems to be headed towards the same disarray that Shaw experienced his last year here.
Players are tuning out the coach, whining when they are being taken out of the game, barely executing anything resembling plays, being so flat-footed on defense, etc etc.
Something needs to change, many somethings.
Josh has squandered his role in his time as President. Perhaps it's time to look at new ownership? But with new ownership, there is always a possibility of the team leaving the city.
Definitely time for a change in players. As others have driven home, this is our 6th year with a Gallo/ Faried/ Chandler core and it hasn't worked out. When all of those guys have shown signs of disinterest or have been somewhat primadonnas in the past, you change that culture quick so that it doesn't infect the young talent. Same with Nurkic. Hasn't consistently played well when he has played yet b*****es about being benched.
This team sucks. Let's hope Malone doesn't try to rap in an effort to relate to his players.

What good will it do if we get butler or wall? 8th seed at best Butler/Jokic or Wall/Jokic is a better starting point for bringing in more free agents and rebuilding than Jokic/Murray or Jokic/Future Draft Pick. Bringing in a Butler or Wall isn't a cure-all, but rather a new start (that Joshie can mess up haha).
