Malone will coach this team next season, there is no doubt about that. I prefer to stay positive
He had one of his worst games of the season last night tho. Why didnt we go to Jokic in the post more often?
I will say this tho, sometime in the 3rd quarter Malone was livid at the team because the Nurk PnR was killing us again. Ive never seen him that upset before, and he called a timeout. Coming out the timeout Faried draw 2 straight offensive fouls and Gallo almost a 3rd one. Just being in that right space. That to me made it obvious that there in fact was a game plan how to defend it, but the players struggled executing. Rest of the game plan, i dont know

We played better defense under Karl, Shaw and Hunt. Does that mean they coach defense better than Malone does?

They didnt have Jokic tho. Not gonna put all the blame defensively on him or anything of that sort, but he really is a horrific defender. I dont care what stats say, i watched last night game.
Makes the need for player able to make up for what he lacks even more important.

You say that but our defense was dead last at the point of the Dallas game where Jokic was still coming off the bench.

There could be plenty of reasons for that, along with Malone being terrible, but Its only a theory
Nurkic playing ahead of Jokic should make any team better defensively. But so much worse offsensivly too.
Maybe Nurk checked out before he was benched

But i agree, i'm far, faaar from being convinced Malone is a good defensive coach. But there are only a handful proven defensive coaches in the league
Look at Thibs. He has Rubio, Rush, Wiggins, Dieng, Towns... 5 individually very good defenders and they struggle defending

Malone is not going to coach again in the NBA other than the nuggz, he showed 0 coaching skills, I dont see why any team would ever consider him, even as an assistant. He got to go and I hope the $$ lost by not making the playoffs will make the owners upset

I dont see why any team would ever consider him, even as an assistant I think that's a bit harsh. I think he's a good assistant coach. The guys been around playoff teams.. he has alot of knowledge and experience.. just some people cannot manage a game. I think he's a smart guy and comes across as a great man and is respected around the league but working on scouting and player development is a whole other game to running the show |

Like nothing is good about his coaching or his teams, all we've heard about him after his arrival that he was the best to control DC in Sac. Some games and situations will tell all about someone, and last two loses were avoidable by any decent coach. |

KSE ate 1 year of Shaw's contract, right? I wonder if they would do the same for Malone. I predict no and he's here next year. Also, TC won't yet admit his hire was a bad one.

Hey, we don't have any rules against scattered thoughts. I'm trying to understand the thought processes of the powers that be in KSE. Do they base their letting go of coaches based on sports making decisions or the financial bottom line. Was the Shaw firing, a sport decision, an atypical move?

Isnt or hasnt Kroenke been majority/significant owner in Arsenal? Wenger should have been fired a decade ago if they cared about winning trophys
but Arsenal has been one of the if not the most profitable soccer clubs the last 10 years

and i never commented on the teammates being pissed at nurkic for leaving a game. i would love it if you could find that quote. cause i'm not the one that acts like i know what every player is feeling and thinking based on the few moment we get to observe them. you are the one that always make those farfetched assumptions. and i dont have a link to post, but it was one of the Mares podcasts where he said that it obviously never would be released to the public, but that multiple sources had confirmed that Nurkic in fact went that far.
