I get it, defensive is important and it's constantly stated good defense wins playoff series (I'd like to see all the stats to support such a claim), but that said, the Nuggets have the altitude advantage for home games. The franchise should just issue an edict to all GMs and Head Coaches that offense, built around tiring out the opponent is the way to run the team. Always embrace that identity. That said, defense can still be coached.

This is another reason Malone sucks. He doesn't strike me as a leader who understands how to manage problems and player personalities. Malone should be a TV analyst, but only the guy that covers the late game nobody watches.

If I were Malone, I'd keep WC out of the starting lineup tonight and start Juancho instead. Send a message to the team that our playoff push is about "we", not "me". All hands have to be on deck and bought in. Chandler obviously said what he said. Even if off the record. We don't know the context, but he is clearly not happy with his role or even being stuck on this team right now. He shouldn't be treated as though nothing happened. Malone's above quote is some pretty weak sauce for a HC who thinks he has control of his team. And definitely another sign that he does, indeed, suck.

Bump.
Malone ruined our season. Got lucky with Jokic, but THAT'S IT. He needs to go.

I don't know why I'm hesitant to join the fire Malone camp but he has done nothing to convince me that he's the coach for the future yet.

Nurkic in the doghouse, upset, wants out. Nelson b*****es about minutes, eventually rewarded Leaks about Chandler wanting a trade, does an interview where he doesn't deny it and talks about inconsistencies which fans have noticed all year, than gets caught again saying he wishes he was traded Barton comments about the Nuggets needing to decide who are they are from top to bottom after getting lit up by a former end of the rotation guy that the coach/franchise traded. Faried calls out the coaching.
Malone had 2 stud C's, fails to utilize them both at the start of the season, takes like 30 games or whatever it was to realize Jokic is that guy, doesn't even bother trying Nurkic/Jokic together with Jokic's new found role. Watch tonights game, where was Jokic? Outside, Nurkic inside. We never saw 2 22 year old young stud C's even get to attempt to play together with 30 minutes a game and proper usage. Didn't even get to see it fail. Has let Barton/Nelson run wild to finish games, as Malone calls Nelson his "finisher".
Malone has had quite the year.

Bump. Malone ruined our season. Got lucky with Jokic, but THAT'S IT. He needs to go. Yep. Not sure what else anyone could point to to back up Malone. He lucked into Jokic. If he didn't we were going to end up a bottom 10, most likely bottom 5 team. He does not deserve another season. We've seen enough. Terrible substitutions. Terrible rotations. Plays favorites over guys who suck but have experience. Ran Nurk out of town. Pinned Mudiay to the bench. And finally, has led the Nuggets to a 1-39 record entering the 4th down 6 points or more.

I've mellowed on my Malone hate. don't get me wrong, I still want him fired lol but he did play his Mark Jackson role of bringing stability and culture change after the dark years of the Shawful era. it's just time to take the next step and bring in our Steve Kerr.

Malone is a cool guy, but he has lost control. Once that happens, you're generally finished.

Bring in a defensive minded coach... Hollins for example and just run your offense around Jokic, why is it that hard?!
Thought Malone calls himself a defense coach

Well if Malone really is losing the locker room, and it somewhat seems like he is and you add on how he ran Nurkic out of town...I think there's a chance he gets fired. It most likely won't happen but there's a possibility. If we finish these last 8 games 2-6 or something that'll tell you a lot about Malone and our vets.
My ideal offseason.
1) Fire Malone. 2) Gallo walk 3) Plumlee walk 4) Trade one of Barton/Chandler.

I don't know why I'm hesitant to join the fire Malone camp but he has done nothing to convince me that he's the coach for the future yet. Certain posters will act like it's just fans being fans but the Jokic/Nurkic situation was a massssssiveeeee f**k up. Now the players seem to be backing up what we said along with two players Chandler/Nurkic being straight up unhappy here. Watching Nurkic talk to the Nuggets players, they couldn't give a s**t. Usually when you have a good coach, guys back him up. Nuggets effort has been inconsistent all year. Basically what's in Malone's favor is Jokic going off for 19/11/6 for 42 games. Like without that were screwed. So basically Jokic playing amazing, gets Malone credit, even tho he missed it because remember he literally has a quote where he more or less calls Jokic a role player, and to lower expectations earlier in the season. He stumbled on Jokic when the Nuggets were falling apart and his season got saved.

My favorite thing Malone did tonight was Plumlee threw an alley oop off the backboard, Faried could be heard on camera saying "what the f**k was that?" and then Malone took him out next whistle. Faried got penalized because of Plumlee's s**t play. Definitely think that played a part in Faried being pissed after the game.
