Its like people here expect us to blow out Atlanta at their home, with our injuries Dude did you watch the game last night? People aren't mad because we lost on the road to the Hawks. People are mad because of how we lost to the Hawks last night. We were down 11 entering the 4th. A combination of Murray/Juancho/DA/Jokic was firing on all cylinders on both offense and defense. We actually missed a lot of open shots at this point too, I believe 4 straight opens 3s..but they got stops every single possession. One or two of those 3s go down, we probably take the lead with this group. This is also a point sometimes where a ton of coaches will ride the 5 guys that got them back into the game. Murray and Juancho were both playing with extreme intensity. Murray was playing phenomenal D on Schroeder and Juancho was hitting the offensive glass on every possession. What did Malone do? He put Jameer and Barton back in the game, both who were unbelievably bad last night. Why not reward the guys whose effort got you back into the game? Why do Juancho and Murray have to come off the floor just because they are rookies? Malone does not hold any of our vets accountable. Malone drew up 0 plays for our best player in the final 4 minutes. Instead it was Jameer dribbling into traffic and turning the ball over. Barton and Chandler both isoing 5 feet behind the 3 point line and making a move to the hoop with 5 on the shot clock. Sometimes as a coach you have to say...Barton and Jameer don't have it tonight. They don't play team basketball. Lets see how this lineup can close a game. Everyone knows whats going to happen with our team in the closing stretch of a game if Jameer and Barton run the show. 90% of the time we are going to lose. We've seen it time and time again. Nobody is mad because we lost the game. We are mad because we have a coach who plays favorites and doesn't hold certain guys accountable specifically because they have NBA experience. And we are mad because Will Barton thinks he's Russell Westbrook and Jameer Nelson thinks he's Kyrie Irving.

Its like people here expect us to blow out Atlanta at their home, with our injuries No, people expect Malone to ensure his team has a solid game plan, makes sound decisions, and puts forth maximum effort. Did you watch the game? Barton was all about Barton. His offense, on a 24 second clock, was about 4 seconds of dribble down court fast for a missed three or failed drive to the hoop. Malone doesn't hold guys accountable when they make poor decisions or go rogue in hero ball. Honestly bro, if we all bumped this thread praising Malone for his ability to adapt in the second-half to make it a close game with ATL, you'd probably post the opposite saying what's been posted by many in the thread already criticizing Malone.

Malone is causing discord and strife in Nuggets Talk land. That's a fire-able offense.

I listened to that podcast just to see if I was off with my assessment of the game, but Adam was pretty much saying exactly what I and everyone else said last night. It's not rocket science...a very simple eye test.

can we chill?
we played seven guys last night. SEVEN. (plus five mins of O Bryant)
this is the options we normally have to play at the PF position:
Faried - out Chandler - out Gallo - out Arthur - out Hernangomez - started at the 3 and played 33 minutes O'Bryant - played five minutes (he's a end of the bench type of player)
Malone said he wants to see Plumlee playing with and without Jokic. Yes, good. BUT he said, for like 5-10 minutes per game... last night, what options did he have?! they played next to each other for like 25 minutes. I liked what I saw from Plumlee and Jokic. Keep in mind, they had ONE practice together! it's not too hard to understand that it will take time especially for a player like Plumlee that is going to learn the Jokic role in our offense (which is by far the toughest one since its the most important one). The all star break therefore comes at a great time, Plumlee can learn the offense. He's athletic and he can run, guess who can do the same - kenneth faried. and he's been GREAT next to Jokic so I'm excited for those two guys playin next to each other as well as backing up. Plumlee had some great passes too AND he played some great defense on KAT and 2-3 possessions out on the perimeter when we had to switch him on a guard.
Chillax. It's easy to point at Malone when we lose and it's easy to point at Jokic-Plumlee pairing after one game. But it shouldn't. You're welcome Thymes for defending your boy Mason.
#2 Plumlee fan out
EDIT: aaaand #1 Malone fan, by far.

Blaming Malone for that loss is just silly. The team missed a ton of easy shots and I think that win against GS got to their heads a bit.
Having a 7 man rotation plus JOB doesn't help either because there's nobody to fall back on when your shooters are cold.

Saying he's Mike Brown isn't necessarily bashing him.
Brown had LeBron to make him look good. Brown wasn't able to get anything out of his players when Bron would go to the bench or when he left.
Malone is in the same boat with Jokic.

That is quite a rant. Malone has not exactly been a savant as coach of our team. But, Jokic surely has been. Just a revelation as to how great he already is. Commenter suggests Malone stumbled into Jockic's greatness, and I mostly agree. The team is 12-5 in games Jokic plays 30+ minutes. Which begs the question, WHY has Malone played Jokic 30+ minutes in only 17 of 57 games? Last night, the clueless coach did it again. He played Jokic just 25 minutes, and Plumlee 23 unproductive minutes. Jokic was a +5 in his minutes, Plumlees a -20!
Then, Malone threw Jokic under the bus in the post game presser! Should have been the other way around, but Jokic is too much a consummate pro to do that.

First, he benched Nurkic, Nurk pouted, got traded for garbage.
Second man up? Mudiay.
Wash, rinse, repeat.
We need to fire this man before he destroys the rest of this wonderful young core. Nurkic was already destroyed (so much to the point that we had to ship out a 1st with him!!) and now the same is happening to Mudiay.

duh, Malone is not getting fired anytime soon, so don't waste the energy. I firmly believe he gets to stay through 2018, unless both Malone and TC are let go at the same time. He is a poor in-game coach, and a bit too reactive for my taste. When he removed Nurkic from starting lineup in December, he had several consecutive DNP-CDs. That's just wrong. Malone destroyed Nurk's confidence and attitude. He may do the same with Mudiay, but I doubt it. Nelson won't hold the starting job long. Either he gets hurt or stinks us up. Mudiay is better alongside Jokic than ball-dominant shoot-first vet like Jameer, who won't defer to our young star enough on most nights.

Enough with Nurkic. Nuggets fans are so obsessed with the aftermath of trades

I feel he totally threw Jokic under the bus last night. He doesn't make those comments about other players.
It's one game, but I hope we don't see Malone splitting minutes evenly between Jokic and Plumlee. If Jokic plays badly, I hope Malone doesn't openly criticize him while other guys get a free pass.
