MPJ has been good for most of the year. At the end of the day the Nuggets are 8-6 after 14 because of 1 guy and 1 guy only. It's not the bench. It's not the spacing. It's Jamal Murray. Simple as that. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like he has any pride and is content just being a loser now. Porter has been okay, sometimes. His splits are down across the board and his defense has been atrocious compared to last year, which was his best defensive season by far. Splits are down ever so slightly but he's done a much better job as a playmaker this year. At the end of the day he'll always be limited by playing on this team. Was lights out and got the Nuggets back into the game in the 3Q and then never touches the ball in the 4th. Has a hot quarter every few games and then never touches the ball again. It's Malone's biggest flaw as a coach.

They are now vets on this squad and yet Jordan is still explaining basketball to them during the games like they're Trey Alexander or Julian Strawther out there. Neither of them has learned a damn thing playing next to Jokic all these years. Aaron Gordon has, which is why he's the only one of these guys that's a useful player when Jokic isn't on the floor.

I like Strawthers effort. He's boneheaded sometimes but so was PWat last year. This year is going to be huge for his development. True. We are lucky that Jokic is only 24 years old so we have time to develop our youngsters... He's not even close to why we lost this game. Had some huge defensive plays 2nd half.

x.com/NBABlackburn/status/1860202060697993631Brother...there is no way to get Jamal going. He's incapable of dribbling past a single human on Earth. No free points means he'll only have a good game when he has a hot shooting night and those are more difficult when you're primarily on ball and can't beat anyone.

Compare MPJ and Murrays game logs this year. MPJ contributes on a nearly nightly basis. Jamal has had what...1 good game this year? 2? Coming off an extension.

I thought Porters defense 2nd half was good and he was huge reason we got back in the game. Then we inexplicably just ignore him. Because it's Murray time!

Swap Tyler Hero with Jamal and we are 12-2 instead of 8-6

Not being as trash as Murray is not a valid excuse. Murray is his own problem and his performance is not a free pass for Porter to play like a rookie six god damn years after he was drafted. Why has Porter's defense fallen off a cliff compared to its already mediocre level from last year? You can't blame Porter's regression on Jamal.

Swap Tyler Hero with Jamal and we are 12-2 instead of 8-6 You could say this about 50+ guards in the NBA. Replace Murray with Jared McCain and the Nuggets are 12-2.

MPJ has been a net positive this year IMO. Murray has been one of the worst players in all of the NBA. They're not the same. MPJ is not costing the Nuggets wins (for the most part). Murray is. On a nightly basis.

List of useful players we have right now: Jokic Braun Gordon (when healthy) Watson sometimes Russ occasionally Strawther And that's it. You have to include occasionally Murray. Had a good game in Memphis. He’s just underachieving. But he’s on the “useful” list. Just cut his minutes when he’s shooting poorly. Played 39 minutes tonight with Russ playing well. CB just 29. Flip that. It’s on Malone.

2 men game is dead , time to figure out something else Malone Honestly it's a good point. The two man game only works when Murray is a threat. He's not a threat anymore.

I sincerely don't care to give credit to a max contract player for that.

If Jamal doesn't get out of his slump tomorrow against the Lakers I'm giving up hope.

You still have to include him on the useful list if you’re including Strawther. Contract has nothing to do with it. You are listing “useful” players on team. There are eight when AG is active, including Russ, Watson, and Straw from bench.

If Jamal doesn't get out of his slump tomorrow against the Lakers I'm giving up hope. Liar. We are going to grow thousands of gray hair this season bitching about Jamal and we would still hope that he will show up in the playoffs. But if he is the same in the playoffs again, you must trade him for whatever there is on the market or blow it up.
