I think Watson should have alleviated our concerns, after his 40 minute 16/5 game against Mavs, which included a second straight game winning block at the end. All young players are inconsistent except the top ones in the league. Watson is gaining valuable reps and experience playing with starters while AG is out. It should really help his confidence and overall development as a player. One week alleviates any Peyton Watson concerns. Meanwhile it’s apparently way too early to be concerned about Saric? I see no way we can trade Saric for value without adding our 2031 FRP. Your boy Booth gave away all our 2nds like Halloween candy this offseason. That’s because 2nds aren’t really assets in the next few years while Jokic is here. They will always be around picks #50-55+ overall. Such picks are easily acquired if necessary. It’s nothing to sweat over. It’s easier to see promise from a player’s actual progress during a time he’s playing major minutes, especially a young player, than it is to draw sweeping conclusions about another player who has logged 44 minutes this season and is currently out of the rotation. I don’t know what to make of Saric, but his track record suggests he will contribute at some point during season, or be dealt. Booth is not “my boy”. I see him as no better and no worse than a fictional GM who might be hired to replace him. He’s human and makes mistakes. He also executed deals that won us a chip, and drafted three guys who are contributing to wins right now. Why cry bout it.

Off the top of my head you called me and/or others who posted about displeasure about specific actions by the front office glib, malcontents, "blowing smoke up our asses", pushing an agenda, crazed, spoiled, embarrassing, children, and now for me specifically, angry and emotional. Don't tell lies about me, I won't tell truths about you. You're not new to this board and I'm not either, even if I'm not around as often these days. You routinely use personal intelligence insults or dismissive language as opposed to dealing with subject matter. I checked back in because of a win streak and there is GBG bringing up my name when I wasn't even on the board (spoiler: to insult me, not my argument, naturally). So let me find a 0 Days Since I Used Personal Insults sign to help you hold yourself accountable with your newfound religion. At least a violin. I'll happily bow out and leave you to it. Honor system that you'll keep the sign updated when you fall off the wagon. You’re sort of proving my point with this response. Two moderators, rock and Lothar, liked my post that got you bent out of shape. So take your complaints to them. Lmao whats this supposed to prove? Thats the mods here are s**t snd actively take sides?

Post-ACL, Saric's rate-adjusted numbers were comparable to or better than his career averages pretty much across the board. It wasn't until February of last year that he started suddenly looking useless. Shooting and rebounding both fell off a cliff. And there wasn't a new injury; he had a "general illness" (sounded like a stomach bug or something of that nature) that made him miss a couple games, and then he just ... IDK ... something was off. So is the ~25 game sample size we have of him from then on during GSW's season plus here enough to say "wow, so washed"? I don't really think so. It looks to me like he might be inside his own head, might have a conditioning/discipline issue, but I don't see the connection with any sort of ongoing injury that would make me say "he's washed" the way, for example, Barton was after the lower leg / ankle stuff. He isn't washed, nor he has some serious physical issue(I hope, we don't know this) Problem with Saric is, he is very... I don't even know how to say this... strange? He already had episodes like this previously in his career. I'll give you example. This is story from Aca Petrovic, head coach of Croatian National Team in that time. In 2016 Croatians were in shambles, whole their team was falling apart. They went to Italy to qualification tournament, and no one expected anything from them. However, surprising everyone, they won the tournament and went to the Olympics, where again, they had no expectations. They won first place in their group, in front of Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Lithuania... However in quarters they got to play us, and they were very good, leading at half. However, in second half Bogdan and Serbia's defense took over, and completely demolish them in third quarter... Saric, who was exceptional in qualification tournament and group stage of the Olympics, had really bad game in quarters... But thats OK, happens. Whole story continue next year, 2017. Croatia had same team back, everyone was considering them potential surprise in 2017 Euro. Serbia, Spain and France sent teams without their major players(Serbia was without Jokic, Teodosic, Raduljica, Markovic, Kalinic...). But during stage games Saric seems off. he was playing bad, he was silent, hasn't spoke with other players, looked uninterested. Aca Petrovic said he tried to talk to him couple of times, asking him what was wrong, but Saric was silent, saying everything is fine. He wasn't fighting with others, he wasn't making any problems, and even if he had some issues, he didn't voice it out. To this day, as Petrovic said, he has no idea what happened, and he said he probably never will. He still has no issues with Saric, and Saric never said he had any issues with him(or any player for that matter). Saric still plays for National team and never quit on them. Whatever happened between 2016 and 2017, he kept for himself. btw, 2016-2017 was Saric's rookie year in NBA, and he finished 2nd in ROY voting, behind Brogdon, so he was playing some good basketball...

Players are humans too. They have stuff outside of their professional lives that could affect their performance as pros. They sure as hell aren’t perfect machines. Maybe only Jokic is the exception? 🙂
We don’t know Saric, or what he might be going through. He clearly wasn’t in peak condition when camp started. All we can hope for now is that he works through his issues, and is back on the floor contributing when we inevitably will need him, for one reason or another. It’s still only first half of November. I think he will get straightened out. But I’ve been glass half full of late.

Saw a clip from Mares on Kevin O'Connors podcast and he keeps referring to Calvin Booth as Cal. Legit makes my skin crawl.
Same guys who said people were saying they were shills for the front office are referring to their GM as a nickname. I mean, come on lol

I mean, come on lol Yeah, that reminds me of the Rockies pbp announcer, Drew Goodman, who is a total shill for that losing franchise and has been for 20 years, calling the players by their first names. Never sat well with me for him to be a complete homer and act so chummy with the players and coaches. Modern America is like this, though, where lines are blurred between journalism and public relations. Mares might be falling into that PR trap.

Never sat well with me for him to be a complete homer and act so chummy with the players and coaches. Modern America is like this, though, where lines are blurred between journalism and public relations. Mares might be falling into that PR trap. I mean I don't consider anybody at DNVR journalists. They're like new media where it's basically just fans with access to their favorite team. I do think there is a spot like that in the media landscape though. I do appreciate their pre and post game shows. They're all in good fun and Mares does do some very good film breakdowns. That being said, it's just an embarrassing look to be doing something like that on a mainstream NBA pod IMO. Like you wouldn't be calling someone a nickname unless you have a relationship with them (I think lol?). So all of that leads to you being looked at as a PR person for the front office and can really make it difficult for you to criticize the team/moves made. Like you said...he fell into the PR trap. And I understand part of it because it allows you access to the team. But you also can't just be a shill and that has been a major concern from fans regarding them this year (and they obviously heard enough noise to comment on it) There was drama last year when Vogt drunk tweeted (an assumption by me to be fair) about Murray being at the podium and watching a UFC fight the entire time. Murray called him out on it, pretty sure DNVR and their crew backed down, etc. I thought it was a very fair point by Vogt but he tweeted it and it was worded extremely poorly and unprofessionally. https://www.reddit.com/r/denvernuggets/comments/1bcptb8/jamal_looking_for_brandon_vogt_after_his_tweet/Video of Murray calling him out above lol

I never saw tweet, but Vogt was right to call Murray out. You can't come out on press conference and watch video on your phone, giving 100% crap about journalists. We all know how much Jokic hates press conferences, but every time he goes out he is 100% professional and respectful. Murray is getting his 50M per year because of people like Vogt, no matter how insignificant reporter Vogt is. People don't remember, but NBA was shitshow that looked lots like WNBA today until ESPN sign first major broadcast contract with them.

I've always thought that Saric is undersized, also with short arms - ultimately, he's just not a banger - and we need a banger. Our bench needs rebounding. Saric ain't it.
He can be going through whatever the f**k he wants to go through - but he doesn't have the mechanics to be a good rebounder.
Our true backup C is DeAndre, unless we waive Pickett and sign someone else (which I kinda hope we do).

That group should play fast, gamble more on D and run on O. They should have a shot blocking, rebounding, running center to maximize their style of play. I’d continue to use Zeke for now to see if he can get something going. Go to Jordan if necessary or in certain matchups. Look around the league to see if there is a mid-season trade that makes sense. I’ve never been a Bagley fan (I’m not sure there are any left), but he has an expiring $12 mil contract that caught my eye. Maybe that’s an option for a Nnaji trade.

Joker questionable for tomorrow's game due to personal reasons. I'll make the game thread once we have a better idea of whether or not he's playing.
Ideally we should be able to beat Brandon Ingram and a buncha G-Leaguers even without him, but confidence is not high.

I wouldn't mind giving Jokic an entire week off to be honest. The Pelicans entire team outside of Ingram is out. There is no excuse for the Nuggets to not win that game even without Jokic.

I'd be much more confident if Gordon were back. A whole game with Zeke and DJ (or Saric?) at the 5 might be ugly. I don't think PJ is an option even though they called him up; I'd bet on him to foul out inside 10 minutes.

There's still no excuse to lose. it's literally Brandon Ingram, Trey Murphy in his 2nd game back and a bunch of G League guys. Do I think the Nuggets could lose? Of course. I'd put it at a 40% chance.
