Kennard, GP2, tre Jones, connaughton, hield, dosunmu, Gary Harris
Some of only guys the money works for. Looks like they'll be unable to move Zeke all year.
Having your 5th highest paid guy be a complete deadspot is hard to overcome, moving Reggie lowered their options too
This roster is thrown together with very little thought.

I only now realized both Calvin Booth and Jalen Pickett went to Penn State. Great job respecting Jokic greatness.
Pickett is our own Bronny. Only our star player dont care about him at all.

Wont be any less tension between coaching staff and front office now. Jokic and players likely side with the coaches. Not a good look and this should have been delt with weeks if not months ago.

karl recommends 500% more drunk UNC grads I just sit here and think many are missing the Forrest for the trees. We Replaced KCP for Braun. I can honestly say CB has played better then KCP offensively AND defensively. Nor has KCP played well for ORL. That was right decision. Booth does deserve a ton of blame. Not trying to sign GTJ was dumb. He'd of been perfect here. Would of taken him a million time over Russ. Just fits everything we're trying to do. Would of taken him over Saric as well. But emd of the day we are 0-2 not because if Russ and Saric or Braun but because AG, Murray, MPJ have not played well. The guys soaking up all our money. Nor has Malone coached particularly great. Yes teams are packing the paint and leaving shooters open. That hasn't stopped CB from getting to the rim. Why can't AG do what Braun does??? Nor has it stopped MPJ from getting wide open 3s which je hasn't made. There is a huge disconnect between Malone and Booth. I love PWat the prospect but on this team his lack of offense doesn't fit. PWat needs to play a 3 offensively and defensively and attack down hill on if he's left open from 3. Instead he plays the 4. I actually now think a lot of our issue at the 5 are a by product if playing undersized 4s. Nnaji for instance is also undersized his best trait is spacing the floor (yes that is been spotty the last 2 years) but also when he's played the 5 he doesn't get alot of opportunities to do what he's best at. Same now with Saric I've actually watched him alot over last few years and we aren't putting him in any chance to succeed offensively or defensively. I thought he looked more passable defensively after we started we started heading and rotating. But our bench issue is that we go way to undersized. When we went with MPJ at the 4 I thought we got good looks MPJ just needs to make shots. But you can't put Murray who's a traffic cone out there right now with Russ who's been great on ball defensively but gets lost on helpline and then have guys getting to the rim. If MP, AG, and Murray just play passable defense AND shoot a normal % first two games I actually think we win both! We need definitely need more from our bench. But our bench would look better if whatever starters were playing with them would give them something which they are not. I think Julian has looked more comfortable each game. If he can get to 10 ppg that will go a long ways as well. We need more from our other MAX contract guys. Just my .02 cents. |

CB is playing so well its not about KCP for me anymore. Its about how Malone, Jokic, MPJ are vocally worried about the amount of proven NBA quality shooters on the team and lack of spacing. Malone cant even threaten to pull someones minutes because the guy behind can barely play at an NBA level if that.

I was initially critical of the Saric signing but NT talked me into it.
I was highly critical of Calvin not signing a vet shooter like GTJ
Russ I still believe will even out performance wise.

This is the problem with not having competition. Watson was guaranteed a job and didn't even have to play in preseason. He's still raw as f**k. I'll give him 10-15 games since he didn't have a preseason but his offensive game is still a gigantic mess. Defense still good but I'm not sold on him either. His best role IMO would be developing as a secondary ball handler. |
