It’s worth considering that AG will turn 30 before the 2025-26 season begins. Combine that with the fact there will not be that many teams with $35-40 mil in cap space next summer, and I’m not convinced he’s going to hold out for the 4 year/$150-160 mil deal mentioned here.

We shall see. I hope AG does take the extension but somebody is going to offer AG a four year $150-160 mil contract. That means he would potentially lose in the $10-20 million range during the life of that extension. This is generally enough for most players to take a chance on free agency and why I'd bet against AG signing the extension. Guess we can hope AG doesn't care about $10-20 million less. Frankly, that extra $10-$20 million would have to come from a good team in a low tax state, which rules out California and New York teams. After tax and cost of real estate, it isn’t a huge difference between Denver in 4.4% flat state income tax Colorado, and those other states. Maybe a return to Orlando would be appealing to him if they finally look like an EC contender in 2025, and I’m sure he still has lots of personal connections there. Miami, Houston, and maybe one or two other teams could make a financial difference. But in truth, I don’t think any of them offer anything to AG like a Jokic to play with. 80% that he signs extension with us, and sooner is better from his standpoint due to obvious risks, IMO. Not sure about 80% he signs the extension as maybe half that number. He can always sign for the same amount next summer with Denver but Brooklyn is the team that I suspect would make a huge offer for AG in free agency that would force KSE to match. Whether AG is interested playing in New York is unknown. Houston already has Jabari Smith so I doubt they'll make an offer. However, I still believe the main threat will probably come via a sign and trade option to a team desperate to make a leap. The Kings seem like that type of team and are a logical destination as AG next to Sabonis is a good fit. Kings could ship back some decent talent/expiring deals along with a pick. Regardless, still think AG signing with Denver is a good possibility but not convinced he will do that via an extension.

Remember when NT thought BB should accept what we could offer? Like 11 a year The goal is for AG to come straight from winning his 2nd ring in 3 years right? Teams for suuuure will overpay Unless people here think we will be just another playoff team

Nuggets media day today. No excitement here whatsoever.
Yall can pretend everything is good and that Calvin didnt suck the life out of this franchise. But this little excitement for what should be the glory days is not healthy.

You have an all-time great in Jokic and you can't even attract 1 all-star to play with him?! Not even a ring chaser?! I'm not even excited

But this little excitement for what should be the glory days is not healthy. Besides Westbrook what is there to be excited about? Our 1st round pick tore his achilles, we gave a max contract to a guy who just had arguably the worst playoff run ever, etc. Who can be excited to watch Jokic burn out trying to carry inconsistent 2nd and 3rd options all year? Murray has taken a ton of s**t from basically everyone in media. He can either do what he did in the playoff run and act like a spoiled, entitled loser or he can prove them wrong. I'm hoping it was just a scenario where he along with his teammates got too high on themselves and didn't take the season/playoff run as serious as needed.

Admittedly it is a tad steep price wise for a streaming service at $19.95/month but at least it is an option now.

Those that said we will be better without KCP and that Booth is right in keeping us away from the 2nd apron. Season starts now

I'm referring to a CURRENT all-star not a washed up 36 year old former all star -- that no other team wanted to sign. Paul Millsap was the closest thing to an all-star that Jokic played with but he was a major disappointment. And Millsap was an actual all-star in Atlanta, never in Denver. If I remember correctly, Millsap was obscenely overpaid -- similar to how Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr are grossly overpaid now. We can't even get an all-star caliber player like Lauri Markkanen (who was a one time all star in 2023) next to Jokic ...just overpaid, injury prone bums like Jamal and MPJ

The biggest thing that I took from media day is Nikola Jokic needs more teammates like Aaron Gordon.

I am, as always, super psyched for the new season.
Usually end of June-September I just focus on baseball, college football and nfl but once training camp/media day/preseason gets close I get excited. Can’t wait for the first preseason game.

Too bad they can't have Mammoth and Rapids games on the new streaming service. ESPN and Apple respectively bought the streaming rights to all NLL and MLS games so we're SOL there.
If they can make a deal to get Rockies games on there it would add a lot of value. Maybe some Eagles AHL games or something. This is also where a WNBA or NWSL team would come in handy.
