Allstar is just the word used for players that are consistently one of the best players on the floor. A legit force of a player.
I dont think anyone cares if Murray makes an allstar game

So like…at what point are people going to be concerned about Murray? He’s looked like complete s**t for 4 months now and everyone is running to give him a max. Crazy that people are pretending like it’s not concerning that Murray can’t get by 35+ year old international players. I really fear giving him a max will end Jokics realistic chance at another title. We need to upgrade our 2nd and 3rd options. I agree completely. I'm sure Jamal has a few last second amazing victories left in him, but the odds are he will be mediocre most of the time, and absolutely NOT worth signing to a max or anything close. Now would actually be the time to see if anyone is willing to make a decent offer. Let's face facts, he will never be a consistent star player. If we DO decide to sign him, the Nuggets have every right to demand he sign a workout and weight clause, and that's being ridiculously nice and understanding, even if Jamal bristles at the thought.

Nobody would be complaining if Murray played 70 games a year and gave you 23-24 PPG. He's constantly hurt and will give you 40 one night and 11 the next. The guy also talks s**t when he's playing great and then throws a temper tantrum when he's playing poorly. I have no idea how last years playoff run didn't sour people on Murray. He played like s**t and he acted like a spoiled, entitled fool. He used to be good though. So that means he'll be good again.

Guys unfortunately murray is getting maxed 100%
It’s sucks but we have no choice. He knows it. His agent knows it. The nuggets know it.
If we let him walk we gain absolutely nothing. We have zero ways of replacing even 25% of his production
Nba rules are stupid and it’s going to hurt us again

How long does it take for shin splints to heal? Or do they? Jamal might be slowed down by that condition that we read about in the latter portion of last season. He might have also been slow-walking or sandbagging (or whatever term you want to use) his performance for Team Canada as a personal business decision. Shin splints definitely heal. It’s a super common injury for distance runners and it doesn’t mean the end of a career. It just requires rest and then ramping back up. I would have strongly preferred for Murray to not play for Canada since he wasn’t healthy at the end of the season and he probably needs to get some rest before ramping back up. He needs to get healthy but barring some Brandon Roy type injury I don’t see why he cannot. He’s not 36.

After Olympics and seeing how Murray does when defense is actually played, I really feel like he’s just THAT good in Denver because Jokic maxes out every teammate. Maybe it’s really time to trade him

Both things can be true at the same time. It is stupid to trade Jamal and it is stupid to max him in my opinion. Sadly you can only chose between those two options (or let him walk).
So, max Jamal and pray that Felipe can have epiphany moment with him as he did with Joker in 2018 when it comes to his work ethic in the gym. Also, pray that Westbrook can add some wood to that fire. Mental tantrums and cockiness/childish behaviour is tolerable if the production on the court is similar to what he did in our title run.

Remember when Westbrook went after a fan on the sidelines who was taunting him right after a game ended at Pepsi Center? I worry we will lose a game at home where he goes 2-14 shooting, gets booed, and goes after a fan again after the loss. Sometimes he can’t control himself. If that happens, we will be desperately looking for another backup PG.

There are several quality point guards that we can trade Jamal Murray + assets (2031 1st, Zeke Nnaji, Michael Porter Jr) ...
1.Trae Young 2.Cade Cunningham 3.Ja Morant 4.Jalen Suggs . . . .
If we had a decent GM, it would be possible

Here is the list of NBA PGs who have a proven ability to be the starting PG on a championship team and have a realistic shot at another one: Jrue Holiday (who is 34), Jamal Murray. (One can argue Kyrie Irving, although he’s a small 32 year old guard and isn’t playing point guard on his current team).
End of list.
One can argue for other lead guards (of course there are guys I like) but until you’ve seen them win 4 playoff series in a row, the jury is out on whether they ever will.

Steph Curry would also be on that list, even at his age. But Steph isn't being traded, and even if he was he makes too much to be traded for Jamal. (inb4 someone starts putting together Jamal + MPJ for Steph + Looney trades)

PG doesn't matter. That part is irrelevant which was shown this year by Boston as they didn't have a true PG. In the NBA you win when your stars show up and you get a contribution or two from your role players in a key spot.
The Nuggets are never winning a Championship without Murray playing to a similar level as he did in the Championship run. The Championship run was a gift from God as Murray only had to go against one quality defender the entire time (his worst series)
Mares posed it on DNVR today as there is a lot of chatter around the NBA that maxing Murray could essentially mean Jokic finishes his career with 1 championship (exactly what I have been saying)
GMs get paid a lot of money to do their job. Pretty sure a guy like Murray who is a playoff killer would have a ton of value around the league.
Whether you believe in Murray or not is one thing. I believe when healthy Murray can still play at a pretty high level. He has intangibles that you can't teach and that are special. But how can anyone trust that he is going to stay healthy when he has multiple injuries every single year and is the most gassed guy on the team every single year.
I'm hoping Murray going from an NBA Champion to the #1 reason a team got bounced and didn't win a Championship will be the wake up call he needs, but the Olympics have me thinking that Murray may still be asleep.

(inb4 someone starts putting together Jamal + MPJ for Steph + Looney trades) Not on my list just because he doesn’t have a realistic shot at another title, in part because he’s not getting traded and won’t win another one with the Warriors. But he’s been bad in the Olympics and since he’s 36 it’s reasonable to wonder if the expiration date has passed on him winning in June at the end of an 8 month season.

PG doesn't matter. That part is irrelevant which was shown this year by Boston as they didn't have a true PG. This is absolutely ludicrous. They started both Holiday and White, while Pritchard played in 18 playoff games too. They literally played three point guards. Not having one specific point guard have to bring the ball up every single time up the court is not at all the same thing as not having a true point guard. It's like you're not at all acknowledging that the Celtics relied heavily upon the ball handling, shooting, vocal communication, and playmaking of those three guys. Do you think the Celtics still win the championship with CB and Strawther instead of Holiday and White? I mean what the hell are you even saying? Do you not understand how colossally boned we are if either Murray or Westbrook miss significant time this year?

Not in their ball handling/play making. Tatum and Brown lead the team in assists and did most of the heavy lifting in terms of running offense. Also, Murray is going to miss time. He misses time every year. And the Nuggets will be fine because they have Jokic. But come playoff time will they be fine if Murray isn't healthy/playing at 90% of his peak level? No. Because you cannot win in the NBA playoffs if your stars don't show up. Depth doesn't win Championships. Stars do. Hence why Calvin should not just be running to the podium to give Murray a max contract. Jamal Murray is not a max player, just like MPJ is not a max player. Stop f***ing ruining Jokics prime with subpar talent around him. Giannis got Dame. Embiid got Harden. Steph got KD. Lebron got AD. Luka got Kyrie. Can we add that level of star to the Denver Nuggets please?

Tatum and Brown lead the team in assists and did most of the heavy lifting in terms of running offense. Absolutely ridiculous take. Facts are not takes. The Nuggets won a Championship with their secondary ball handler being a shooting guard who played as a PnR roll man the year previous. Tatum lead the Celtics in assists in the finals. Brown was 2nd. Jrue 3rd. Horford 4th. Same with touches in the front court. Tatum 1, Brown 2. I also want to remind you that the Nuggets won 48 games with the following PG rotation: Monte Morris/Facundo Campazzo/Bones Hyland. So I rest my case. PG depth doesn't really matter for the Nuggets because they have Nikola Jokic. Jokic is good enough to carry any dogshit roster to 45+ wins. You need Murray, MPJ and AG playing at a high level in the playoffs to win a Championship. Good luck with that. Also no idea why you're acting like I'm happy with this roster. It's just better than last years roster. Every team has holes. It's impossible to have 15 quality NBA players. The Nuggets have a pretty good top 8. That's really all you can ask for considering their cap space.

"The Celtics didn't need any point guards except for the three they played and two they started in every single game" Hence why I gave you front court touches too. You know, the guys with the ball in their hand in the half court making most of the crucial decisions. Derek Fisher was more important than Shaq and Kobe because he played PG. I mean give me a f***ing break dude. What do you want from the Nuggets? If your biggest concern about the team is their 3rd string PG sucks, you're not paying attention to the s**t that really matters. Be concerned that the starting PG of the team is going to get a max contract after playing the worst basketball of his career in the playoffs and then the Olympics. That's the only thing that matters for the Nuggets right now. The Nuggets could have the best guard depth in the history of the NBA and aren't winning a Championship if Murray has another playoff performance like last year. Also should point out Murray is one of the slower guards in the NBA in terms of getting the ball past the center court line since that is obviously part of what you're alluding to with White/Holiday aka ball handlers to bring the ball up the court. AG has experience doing that and the Nuggets literally had to do it because Murray couldn't handle full court pressure.
