MPJ does provide spacing and has had a good shooting postseason (42% from 3), despite three straight bad games against Minny. We have poor to average 3PT shooters throughout the roster (KCP usually is good on lower volume, though). If MPJ gets traded for a bonafide AllStar, which will also require packaging Watson and using Zeke as salary filler, that AllStar had better have floor spacing in his arsenal. Otherwise, the paint will be packed and Jokic will have to expend even more energy, even with an AllStar on floor with him. As for Murray, I fear his aging pattern might turn out to be very similar to Will Barton, who aged out of the league rather quickly due to all his leg and soft tissue injuries that robbed him of his athletic abilities (slashing and leaping were great in 2016, not much to speak of by 2022, and his defensive mobility was gone). Murray could already have peaked, and might enter a downhill slope for his career in his late 20’s. That sounds crazy, he should be in his prime at that age, but his legs are old. Shin splints themselves are a grave sign that he’s aging quick, and add all the other stuff on top of it. If we can get an AllStar PG, even if a bit older than Murray, in trade, then trading Murray has to be considered. KSE isn’t shy about doing such a thing, as the quick early season trade of AI to Detroit for Chauncey Billups showed us in 2008. They saw AI’s legs going south, and pulled the trigger. Murray might be next. a lot of your Murray prognosis appears like wishful thinking considering you've been rooting against him basically his entire carrer. This is unadulterated bullshit. I don’t root against Murray. I try to give unvarnished, objective opinions based on what I see as a concerning trend. But for laughs, show me my posts where I have “rooted against” Murray. And, no, opining he will never be an AllStar doesn’t count. Again, it’s just an objective observation and opinion. I’d be thrilled if I’m wrong about that.

Wouldn't happen but Mitchell for Murray straight up would be a clear upgrade. Very well could be an upgrade, hypothetically. But Mitchell has some physical issues too. If only LaMelo Ball didn’t have his chronic ankle problems, he’d be my guy to trade for. Of course, Curry had those issues too, so Ball still has a future. As for older PGs, I’d have to study the list and come back with a few names. FVV comes to mind, for starters.

Bottom line is the Nuggets have to get Jokic some consistent help and their #2 and #3 scorer are never going to be consistent. They're not 22/23 years old. They are what they are. The good thing about Jamal is he can be effective when he isn't scoring with his playmaking. MPJ can't.

you just reminded me last night that you used to say Jamal was the next Randy Foye.
but GBG, I don't care, truly. I want to talk about the game, not have another s**t flinging content about your thin skin.

People who claim others here aren’t fans of this or that player, or this team, are beyond annoying. Just because we all have diverse opinions and don’t always agree, doesn’t mean the fan we disagree with is actively “rooting” against a given player, or taking joy out of the player’s failure. It’s classless to ever accuse other fans of not being fans.
Every sports fan expresses their fandom in different ways. People like JB are the lowest common denominator on sports forums. He needs to apologize but won’t, of course.

Again, an opinion at the time I posted it (2016 or 2017) that you didn’t agree with and turned out to be wrong. Doesn’t mean in any way, shape, or form that I “rooted against Murray” then, or that I root against him now.

In my opinion, the "lowest common denominator" of spots fans are those who develop an irrational dislike of players they don't enjoy for whatever reason, never miss an opportunity to highlight and spam a game thread when they don't play well and use the opportunity to prove how vindicated their biased takes were the entire time. that to me, is worse than bots.

Again, you fail to even see the point. Pretty ignorant if you actually, truly think I “root against Murray”, or hope he fails. If he fails, the team loses. And I definitely want the team to win as much as possible, both in RS and playoffs, as well as into the future. 2025-2030 might not be so good if we don’t recognize a physical decline in a certain player or players, and are slow to retool the roster. This is just my opinion, and I’ve been wrong before, as you point out. But there is no f***ing way I actually root against Murray or anyone on the Nuggets. We all have our favorites and our whipping boys, but it doesn’t mean anyone here roots against players they might call “losers” or frauds or whatever. I hope you can see the point I’m making now, but I won’t hold my breath.

I think this game is pretty simple. The Wolves are going to double team Jokic all game and force the other guys to make shots. Do you have confidence in the other guys on this team? I do not. Therefore I am picking the Wolves. Hope I am wrong but the Wolves have the much better defense and that is typically what wins a Game 7. Should the Nuggets lose this game, it is time to move on from MPJ/Murray. MPJ is a lost cause at this point that can't be counted on. He's basically a opponent dependent role player and you can't pay a guy a max contract that can't play in certain series. Murray cannot be counted on to stay healthy. 3 of 4 postseasons now. The Nuggets franchise owes it to Jokic to surround him with other elite talent and lessen the workload that he has. Terrible take. The other guys playing minutes are all NBA champions, fgs!

....and then Nuggets Proboards decided that Murray should be traded for Donovan Mitchell, the ultimate Iron Man.
EPILOGUE: Donovan Mitchell didn't play in the Eastern Second Round against the Celtics, due to injury.

As long as he doesn’t fake injury during the playoffs - yeah - Mitchell would be great I guess
