Luka has gone from the precipice of being the best player in the nba, to a whiny petulant child playing some of the worst defense ever seen…in a week. Jokic has locked up best player in the world going into next season which is nice at least. Lukas defense in the finals is what people say/think Jokics defense was like 2 years ago. Just embarrassing, That means nothing if he's again treated as a work horse and not a PO asset that wins you series. Also if the FO doesn't do a major trade it'll be another frustrating post season as we all know what Malone will do Also Doncic was considered the second best player in the world (the best remaining player in PO's) and in how many games in the finals he was the best player? None! He wasn't even the best Dallas player in every game. If Jokic is not the best Nugget in a PO game that is a guaranteed loss, the question is just by how many points. I didn't see that you're evaluating Doncic in a similar fashion as Jokic. Jokic IS the best player in the world by a small margin not by a lot so the second best best player demands the same level of judgment and criticism

All I have to say about last night's game is that some people have actually wanted us to get Luka before......LOL

Remember when erik was dunking on me for saying Luka is a lazy fat idiot who refuses to play hard and Porzingis had a 100% chance of getting hurt again?
Well, turned out I was wrong because Porzingis has been hurt twice since I said that. 200% chance of injury.

a chucker that whines all game, blames everyone else when things go wrong, is allergic to defense and s**t the bed when his team needed him the most on their championship run.
Luka is more Melo than Jokic.

We would have won the championship this year, had we not collapsed in game 7. Sorry guys - hurts as hard as the Broncos-Jags 1996 and Rahim Moore 2012 (for those of who cheer for the broncos too).
Minny basically took our bench off the table. We had minimal size coming off the bench, especially because Malone refused to play PWat and DJ (which is why our starters completely ran out of legs). He really didn't trust anyone to take on Minny's size.
Had we played Dallas, PWat and others are on the floor for a much longer period of time, giving the starters ample rest.
Chin up - If we're not getting the chip, I'd rather lose in the second round than the fourth. Our guys are going to spend the summer eating s**t, and coming back this fall with a f***ing chip on their shoulder. Minny is entering cap-hell and is going to lose some very critical parts (likely worse than our loss of KCP, which will partly be absorbed by Pwat and Strawther emerging - Minny's conversion will be far harsher). We will win it all next year.
Enjoy the summer all.

It would be cool if Dallas wins at least one game otherwise they're going to embarrass not only themselves but the entire west. We all know what the narrative is going to be if Boston sweeps them

Didn’t even watch a minute of this game when I saw it was a blowout in first half.

I didn’t watch a minute of this game either.
But amidst all of the handwringing about the Nuggets, my thought is this — the Nuggets would have won it all this season if they played in the shitty eastern conference. With a much easier schedule and far less standings pressure, they could have coasted to some extent all season, played some of their young guys more, and been fresher heading into the playoffs. A reasonably healthy Nuggets team beats either of these teams — the Mavs don’t have enough good players and the Celtics’ top players suck by the standards of top players in the playoffs. I actually think the Mavs would be tougher playoff opponents.
The eastern conference is just so so so bad. The Celtics are really good when Porzingis is healthy and far from great in the frequent times he is hurt.

that was a controversial take two weeks ago scooter (that the Nuggets would beat either finals team)
pound for pound the worst finals I can remember. even though last years finals ended in 5, the storyline of Jokic establishing his legacy as an all-time great vs the South Beach underdogs that overachieved their way to the finals was far more engaging than the freaking Celtics winning a championship by default because they play in the junior conference and lucked out even more facing the 5th seed from the West that benefited from injuries/inexperience during their fluke run.

If they just rested the starters 2 weeks before the PO's. I hope some of the blind ones will start seeing thru or they'll keep convincing themselves how the depth of Houser Tillman and Pritchard is something we needed to win it again lol

I wouldn't put everything on luck when it comes to Dallas. They gave their starters 11 days of rest before PO's. They punted the last 2 games and lost #4 seed because of rest. That has nothing to do with luck That was some smart game outside of the BB court. They overachieved in their run because they were smart and they knew their personal. Luck comes after you do smart things. Same as in life

Last spring they played 2 months of playoff basketball — each month of playoff ball is like 2 months of regular season ball — while the Mavs were relaxing on vacation. There is no “smart” that would provide the Nuggets with a much easier eastern conference schedule. Some things in life are completely out of one’s control and it’s just bad luck that they play in the much tougher conference during Jokic’s prime. It is what it is. One has to be fair with this perspective, though. The Nuggets took advantage of the situation to get Gordon and KCP and one year of Brown for cheap. And maybe just maybe they can do some version of that again.

I think the Nuggets would made the finals had they beaten the Spurs and finished as the top seed.

I never said that punting couple of games in our case would do wonders. We should have punted the last 2 weeks of the RS (same as last year) which would have given us about 20 days of rest. Even 15 days of rest would have been good enough to repeat it. They would have erased the entire season. No way we lose 20pts lead in game 7 with rested legs. We did the dumbest possible thing we could and we were eliminated in the dumbest possible way (historic choke) as we deserved it.
