Those are G-League shooting numbers, not NBA numbers. Davon Reed shot 42% on over 5 3pt attempts per in 35 G-League games this year and couldn't even get a 10 day contract from the Grizzlies while playing on their G-League squad. Torrey Craig shot 39% for his career in the G versus 35% in the NBA. It's a whole different beast. Tyson does not have better handles than MPJ and his G-League defense this year was worse than rookie MPJ's NBA defense. Tyson shot 41% from 3 on 9.2 attemps. That's elite. I know it's a g-league and that's why I said "if he could transfer that to nba". Mpj has the worst handle in the entire universe and that means worse than Tyson. It's all about a chance. I would like him to get a chance at least as JS got his His play in the G-League doesn't justify a chance. I'm telling you unequivocally that he's a significantly worse G-Leaguer than Jack White or Jalen Pickett, let alone Watson/CG/Key/Huff. And no, he didn't shoot 41%. You're looking at a partial 17 game sample because the G-League year is split into different phases (Showcase, regular, playoff). For the full season of 28 games he shot .393 on 8.8 attempts. He also had an assist to turnover ratio of 0.98 and fewer win shares in 28 games (1.1) than Key had in 13 (1.3) or CG had in 12 (1.4).

This is a bizarre debate to have at this point in the season, but I’ll add this — intangibles are super important for guys who are in roster spots 13-15. Bones is a very talented young rotation level player and his attitude got him traded for a bag of basketballs. These guys spend a million hours together and attitude, work ethic, smarts, selflessness, enthusiasm etc. are super important for guys who are expected to play very little in actual NBA games.
Malone seems to really like Tyson. That and the fact he’s a good shooter at 6’9” gets him at least halfway there to sticking for awhile on the Nuggets or some other NBA team.

Again, what evidence is there of these intangibles or that Malone likes him?
He's slow footed, slow to react, not particularly tough, and he played fewer NBA minutes this year than anybody on this year or last year's rosters. He's not a high motor guy, he's not a high IQ guy. He ain't setting screens, he ain't cutting without the ball, he ain't defending, he ain't passing, he ain't boxing out, he ain't rebounding. He's standing still and shooting spot up shots.

2nd round picks aren't playing on contenders. End of discussion. Tyson will be gone just like Pickett will be gone after their first NBA contract.

I think Tyson comp is closer to Trey Lyles than it is to Tyler Lydon. So, yes, I think he has a chance to make an NBA rotation. If not our’s, then somewhere else if we pull off a summer trade.

Lyles plays hard, defends, boxes out, and rebounds. There is nothing about his game similar to Tyson's. I have no idea where you guys are getting these evaluations but I actually watched every NBA minute and probably 75% of the G-League minutes he played. Unless his off-ball game, strength, footwork, IQ, and motor drastically improve he is not even worthy of a two way. All. He. Does. Is. Chuck.
