Since the G-League season starts today and we've sent Hunter Tyson and Jay Huff down to Grand Rapids I figured it was a good time to start this thread.
Like last year, I'll post G-League stat lines from our Nugs rostered players. I'll just post the most recent line and the running total, not a running log of every single game in every single post like last time.
Players with G-League eligibility this year: Christian Braun Peyton Watson Julian Strawther Jalen Pickett Hunter Tyson Collin Gillespie Braxton Key Jay Huff
Obviously we're not sending CB or Watson down, and Strawther for now seems to be the 10th man so I doubt we'll see him sent down unless he lands in Malone's doghouse later in the year.
Key and Gillespie will eventually need to spend some time in the G-League simply because they both need to be inactive for 32 NBA games and they've only been out for 2 each so far.
I think Pickett will also spend a good chunk of time down in the G, but not until Jamal is healthy.
Losing faith we'll even see Kamagate brought over but if you hear any news about him this year, post that here as well.

I turned on the game midway through the 2nd quarter but it seems like Huff is on a minutes limitation. Only 9 minutes in the first half and Andre Miller played Hunter Tyson at the center position whenever Huff was off the court. The Gold don't seem to have a lot of size.
Tyson 3/10 shooting for 12 points, -9 in 21 minutes Huff 0/3 shooting for 0 points, -4 in 9 minutes
Gold down 12 at the half, reminiscent of last year. Will post complete lines for Tyson and Huff after the game.

Point guard just posted up Tyson, drove him backwards, and hit a turnaround jumper right in his face

Any time Tyson doesn't have the ball on offense he's just standing still at the nearside 3 point line elbow. No movement without the ball, not setting any screens, not boxing anybody out. Just a pure spectator.

At least Brimah is playing the bench 5 now instead of Hunter.

Four consecutive times Tyson has run the baseline he has been muscled out of bounds.

Huff has Drummond/Zeke hands when it comes to catching passes or rebounds, but he has surprisingly nice handles and touch around the rim for a 7'2" guy

Gold lose 112-99.
If you're wondering why the shooting lines don't add up to the right number of points, it's because except in the last 2 minutes the G-League has players take one free throw worth two points for a two shot foul. So Hunter's 4 free throws were worth 8 points.
Hunter Tyson: 24 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 0 steals, 0 blocks, 4 turnovers, 0 fouls, 7/19 FG, 3/8 3PT, 4/4 FT, -8 in 42 minutes
He had a much better offensive fourth quarter, hitting most of his field goals in that time. In the first three quarters the only good thing that could be said about his offensive game is he got to the free throw line and he hit the offensive glass. He was bricking everything, throwing up dumb shots, being passive without the ball in his hands, turning it over, getting muscled around the court, not making obvious passes. Fourth quarter he looked much more in rhythm, and he did play a ton of minutes out there. Overall a frustrating offensive game but he had some really nice flashes.
Defensively he's bad. Not strong enough to deal with the big guys, not quick enough to deal with the small guys, not making the right rotations, not moving his feet enough. He doesn't look good mentally or physically on the defensive side of the ball.
Jay Huff: 15 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 0 steals, 3 blocks, 2 turnovers, 3 fouls, 5/8 FG, 3/4 3 PT, 2/2 FT, -3 in 28 minutes
They eased him into the game, only playing 9 minutes in the first half. In the second half he looked calm and completely in command out there. Very much reminded me of how Jack White looked all last year in the G-League. I don't know if either guy will ever be a rotation NBA player, but they both look like they belong at a higher level than the G-League. He had a few "stone hands" moments out there but he took smart shots with confidence, he boxed out, he played tough and physical defense, he communicated well, he kept the ball moving on offense.

Gold lose 116-93. Didn't watch a second of this game so all I can do is post the stat lines and update the averages.
Tyson tonight: 21 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 0 steals, 0 blocks, 2 turnovers, 2 fouls, 8/21 FG, 0/10 3PT, 3/3 FT, -21 in 33:45
Huff tonight: 11 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 0 steals, 6 blocks, 0 turnovers, 4 fouls, 4/8 FG, 1/4 3PT, 1/1 FT, -10 in 28:25
The two things that stand out from those lines are 0/10 on 3s from Tyson and 6 blocks from Huff.
Season Averages
Tyson: 22.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.0 steals, 0.0 blocks, 3.0 turnovers, 1.0 fouls, 37.5% FG, 16.7% 3PT, 100% FT, -29
Huff: 13.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.0 steals, 4.5 blocks, 1.0 turnovers, 3.5 fouls, 56.3% FG, 50.0% 3PT, 100% FT, -13

Gold lose 100-94. Again, I didn't watch so all I have are the statlines.
Hunter Tyson: 19 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 0 steals, 0 blocks, 5 turnovers, 3 fouls, 5/18 FG, 1/4 3PT, 6/6 FT, -8 in 39 minutes
Jay Huff: 28 points, 14 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 5 blocks, 0 turnovers, 4 fouls, 10/15 FG, 4/8 3PT, 2/3 FT, -2 in 26 minutes
That's a freaking monster line for Jay Huff. Another inefficient shooting night for Tyson.
Season averages
Tyson (3 games): 21.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.0 steals, 0.0 blocks, 3.7 turnovers, 1.7 fouls, 34.5% FG, 18.2% 3PT, 100% FT, -37
Huff (3 games): 18.0 points, 9.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.3 steals, 4.7 blocks, 0.7 turnovers, 3.7 fouls, 61.3% FG, 50.0% 3PT, 83.3% FT, -15

Really not sure what the plan is with Braxton Key. He's only played 10 minutes across 4 games but he's burned 9/50 active games already. They should send him down now, while all the other forwards are healthy.

Grand Rapids had a day game today. Apparently they sent down Huff before they sent down Key or Pickett, because Huff made it to this game but the other two didn't.
The Gold lost 115-90. They're now 0-7 on the year.
Jay Huff: 24 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 0 blocks, 4 turnovers, 1 foul, 9/17 FG, 2/6 3PT, 2/2 FT, -28 in 32 minutes
Season averages
Tyson (4 games): 22.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.5 steals, 0.0 blocks, 3.5 turnovers, 1.8 fouls, 37.5% FG, 23.3% 3PT, 100% FT, -42
Huff (5 games): 19.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 0.6 steals, 3.2 blocks, 1.8 turnovers, 3.4 fouls, 61.7% FG, 44.0% 3PT, 80.0% FT, -50

Tyson finally missed one, Huff was there for the offensive rebound and the foul.
Pickett shooting well too, has immediate chemistry with former college teammate Andrew Funk. Still getting into some ball handling adventures but nice shooting, creative passing.
Huff looking solid, as always.
Gold actually gonna win one it looks like. Up 71-36 with 2 minutes left in the first half.

Full statlines after the game, quick and dirty halftime lines
Tyson: 22/4/1/0/0 Huff: 12/8/3/0/1 Pickett: 12/6/6/1/0
You can tell the three of them have been getting a lot of work together with the Nugs. Crisp passing between all three guys.
The key to this first half was the Gold always having an open man flashing with his hands at the moment somebody stops Pickett's dribble. The Bulls have been attacking his ball handling and so far he's punished them by making the pass on time. His only turnover so far has been on an offensive foul.
