After years of Joshy using them as his plaything...this one is about the Nuggets players (and coaches even though Malone's rotations are goofy), not the ownership. Ownership did enough to not interfere, which I suppose is an upgrade from the 90s. Holy s**t. It’s like a reunion in here! Cara, dean Josh, poop, Catalan and everyone else who have returned. This is awesome! How have you been okie?

By reaching the finals, this accomplishment begs the question.... Is this the best Nuggets team of all time? all I know is this milestone makes Jamal's knee injury 100x more tragic. if this is the Jamal we got first season back from ACL surgery, I don't want to think of how he would've performed in the playoffs following the bubble. let's just say I would've loved our chances against the FraudSuns, injured Clippers and Bucks.

TC and Booth quite clearly didn't share the same defensive values.

Anthony Davis in this series: 26.8 points, 14.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.8 blocks, 1.3 steals on 49/50/88 shooting splits
He put up that line and still got utterly dominated by Jokic.

TC and Booth quite clearly didn't share the same defensive values. Agreed, they all have their differences. But i bet they overall had pretty similar views. Snd Josh definitely has influence. They are still cheap as f**k but he has a good understanding of whats needed to build great teams. Arsenal as well.

I don't think it's even arguable that the Kroenkes are great sports owners. I don't know dick about Euro soccer so I won't comment on Arsenal or Arsenal WFC, but on this continent they've owned or partially owned 6 teams Rams - 1 Super Bowl as full owners, 1 Super Bowl as minority owners Avs - 2 Stanley Cups (first one was before they bought them) Mammoth - 2 NLL Championships, playing for a 3rd starting Saturday Rapids - 1 MLS Championship Crush - 1 Arena Bowl as minority owner (with John Elway and Pat Bowlen; league went bankrupt when the real estate bubble popped in 2008) Nugs - playing for their first NBA championship
If the Mammoth and Nugs both pull it off they'll have 10 championships in less than 30 seasons as a sports owner in North America.

Are they or are the Nuggets used to being neglected from the Ascent/comsat days? I've seen too many first-rounders sent out to dump salaries and too many deals for cash considerations.

Yeah Josh has been pretty great honestly. Malone made an interesting comment in his presser how they had patience early on which is pretty rare for this league. Especially given how much there spending. They could have easily panicked and forced a trade/fired Malone or allowed TC to make a panic trade if that's what he wanted to do. They are cheap when the roster/winning isn't there but that's the vast majority of owners in markets like Denver. When it comes time to spend they do. Nuggets have basically been elite at finding FO talent as well. We didn't pony up for Masai and nothing changed and we got TC who helped build the foundation of the team. TC than wanted his payday and we said nope and Booth made all the moves required to take the team to the next level. IMO it's pretty clear there's some form of brain trust here. Just way too much evidence. Nuggets ownership doesn't put a huge value on the GM position and the ship keeps headed the right direction no matter the loss. As an Av fan you see the different in how they manage the front office between the two teams. Gotta give credit where credit's due and there's alot to go around for where the Nuggets are right now. Obviously the bulk of it goes to Jokic/Murray and the rest of the team but everyone's had a little bit of a hand in getting here.

Not doubt there's been some cheap moments but they've spent when it was needed for the most part. All the MPJ/Murray injuries when you have an MVP had to be tough. Pretty great argument that we maxed MPJ/Murray earlier than alot of teams would have as well. Would have been easy to try and trade 1 of them to save a little cash. Especially MPJ. If they traded MPJ along with some assets to get a player back who was actually healthy on a shorter deal to save some money .. I think alot of the fanbase would have been fine with that at the time. Ownership has shown a ton of patience with this Nuggets core/Malone and it's paid off with the first ever finals app.

Not sure about that as part of what makes this team great is Booth getting defensive-minded players in KCP, Brown, and Braun that I doubt Tim would have gotten. The team Tim created with the AG trade was good but still had major issues on the wing with Barton, Campazzo, and Dozier. That steaming pile wasn't going to be fixed by Tim, meaning it probably would have derailed Denver before the Finals.
