Reeves is not Steph curry.
Reeves isn’t tall and has slow mechanics. When he gets hot, it’s usually because teams leave him open.
Landry Shamet has already given us a master class on why we don’t leave subpar players open.
Reeves looks good when you dare him to beat you. I don’t think we’ll need to double team any of the lakers (unlike Booker or edwards) which is further reason why I’m confident about this series.
Book and Edwards gave me something to worry about. Reeves doesn’t. Keep a man on him - that’s all.

I felt the same way after watching LAL in the MEM and early parts of GSW series, but LeBron turned back clock during last two sin of GSW series. He was much more aggressive and he went down into the post and got to the rim. Everyone thinks they are going to put Jokic into a ton of PnR's and I'm sure they will somewhat but I actually think they are going to have Jamals man ball screen for LeBron and try and force a switch and then he's going to take Jamal into the post and either get to the rim or force a double and LAL can shoot 3s well enough to hurt us in that situation IMO. Especially Dlo and Reeves. |

Who is guarding Joker? You know AS wants no piece of him and, even if he did, Joker pulling him out to the perimeter greatly diminishes their defense. AD as a help defender could be very rough for Jokic Why cant Vando defend Jokic? Its not like Jokic have never struggled against smaller defenders |

Jokic struggles against smaller defenders like PJ Tucker - who has a 7'3 wingspan, legs like tree trunks and the temperament of a honey badger. PJ tucker despite being 5 inches shorter than Vando, is 40 pounds heavier than him.
there is no timeline where Jarred Vanderbilt can effectively be the primary defender on Jokic. nor can Rui Hachimura. nor can hobbled 40 year old Lebron. nor can a version of Tristan Thompson that is currently playing at 0.25 speed. if Ham doesn't put AD on Jokic, it's going to be a very short series for the Lakers.

Ive seen Joe Johnson shut down Jokic. Pretending that its not possible is foolish is laughable.

Do i understand how the game of basketball and human psychology works? Yes
I don’t think LAL will waste and risk AD fighting with Jokic every possession. We will soon know

To avoid confusion. And also to annoy Duh (MULTIPLE posts)
- I say why cant Vando defend Jokic (did not say shut down)
- I say Jokic have struggled against smaller defenders before (he have at times)

Vando is nothing to worry about offensively, but he is a pretty damned good defensive player, and one TC shouldn't have traded away. He is especially talented at rebounding, which is something Joker has dominated in our first two series.
This is a legitimate concern.

He can be a shooting threat, though limited. People here are taking guys like Vando and Reaves way too likely. Hell, they can’t even spell his name right (it’s not “Reeves”). Generally, Nuggets fans are overconfident about this series and haven’t done their homework about the Lakers, including here at NT. This genuinely worries me, because if this attitude extends to the players and coaching staff, we are gonna get burned. |
