6:30 starts are GLORIOUS !!!! Thank god !!! Happy Birthday Rock !!! You, me, Duh, GBG, and Scooter are the resident old farts, with me being the oldest (I believe, and sorry if I forgot an old fart or two) If anyone wonders where I am during games this year, I reconnected with two old friends I've known for 57 years who are both hardcore Nuggets fans, and I text with both during games, in addition to here and "the other place". My fingers are falling off texting. Wish I could crank them out like kids are capable of. Thanks!

Did anyone catch Vince Carter on First Take yesterday? I was at the gym, struggling to get through a couple of miles of jogging on the treadmill, and I was watching that without sound (but with captions). Kellerman asks Carter some question about whether he sees Jokic carrying the Nuggets to a win in Phoenix and Carter just has a pained, skeptical expression on his face for like 5 seconds before answering something like, “no, I’m pretty sure KD — who may actually be the best player in the NBA — is going to dominate and the Suns will win.” Kellerman ask some other question about Jokic impressively putting up a series of triple doubles and such and Carter gives some answer conceding that Jokic “is in the conversation” of the best X number of players (maybe top 50 in Carter’s mind, with Jokic battling it out with Jonas Valunciunas for a spot in the 3rd tier of NBA players) in the league, but he’s pretty sure this game will about KD dominating.
Maybe Carter is gunning for a promotion to Kendrick Perkins’ spot on NBA today.

BTW, does anyone else think that “the Suns have a depth problem” is a bullshit way for the media to avoid blaming their big money/star players? Personally, I think that guys like Payne and Landale and Okogie and Shamet and Craig are very decent role/bench players and held up their end of the bargain in the playoffs.
Its seems to me much more that their $138 mil core of Paul, Booker, Durant and Ayton is the problem.

The Suns don't have great depth but in all 4 of the losses, Phoenixs stars had rough games.

Its seems to me much more that their $138 mil core of Paul, Booker, Durant and Ayton is the problem. A totally healthy Suns team might have won this series. In contrast, we were healthy (though with bumps and bruises to Murray and Jokic). Missing two starters last night was too much for the Suns to overcome. I also should mention that Booker’s foot was reportedly sore from a fall in game 5, though Williams said he’d never use it as an excuse. Suns are reportedly going to heavily shop both CP3 and Ayton, so some changes are coming.

I think that guys like Payne and Landale and Okogie and Shamet and Craig are very decent role/bench players and held up their end of the bargain in the playoffs Those 5 guys combined to average 28, 11, 6, 1.5, and 1 in around 92 mpg. KCP, Bruce, CB, and Uncle Jeff's combined averages were around 30, 12, 4, 4, and 1 in around 88 mpg with good defense from most of those guys. So I'd say the Nuggets' bench guys were slightly better than the Suns' bench guys, and the Nuggets also kinda have a depth problem (who is guy #9?) so the Suns do have a depth problem. top 4 for each team: 80, 25, 20, 3, and 3 in 140 mpg vs 85, 30, 20, 4, 2.5 in about 145 mpg. Nuggets' top 4 were a bit better than the Suns' top 4. Oh, and the Suns' top 4 had CP0 miss 4 games and Ayton miss 1. Which, if the Nuggets had like MPJ miss 4 games and AG miss 1, everyone would be talking about our "depth problem". The Suns' replacements for those minutes -- Terrence Ross, TJ Warren, and Damion Lee -- combined to shoot 18/58 and 8/38 from three, basically putting up 11, 5, 2, 1 and 1 in 45 mpg on bad shooting and meh defense. The falloff there was pretty rough for them. So I guess ... I do think the Suns' main role players basically held up their end of the bargain, down to maybe the 9th or 10th guy, and their problem was that their top 4 guys weren't quite good enough *and* didn't stay healthy. I can't really blame Booker or KD over the course of the series, but CP0 being old and slow and Ayton being mediocre and then getting injured did them in.

Big muthergrabbin HB to the incomparable, Rock. 3 weeks from now, I hope to hear this from you
Our roster will be trashed now that we won the championship. Bruce Brown is leaving and we are finished. When other teams win it all, they get ring chasers. Not us, we just have players leaving. The curse is real. Nobody will fall farther, faster from a championship then we will. Also, did you notice our championship rings are smaller than the Lakers?
