Another huge test. Suns are going to be better in Game 2 than they were Game 1 and the Nuggets need to come out with great energy. The energy defensively last night was fantastic and was a clear step above what it was Game 1.
Phoenix is going to make tough shots. The key is to not let them get easy buckets and not force shots on the offensive end. Need a big Jokic bounce back game.

We still have more rested legs and that's not changing soon. By saying that I can't see how they can raise their defense, improve ofense, get Ayton to produce more and at the same time we fall off the cliff and be much worse than in game 1

Nuggets shouldn't have any issues solving their defense. But there are many other things that can happen that can move in the Suns favor. Gordon dropped 23. That's not happening again. Murray dropped 34. Doubt that happens in B2B games. Bruce had 14 off the bench. Suns shot 30% from 3, Nuggets shot 43% from 3. Nuggets will regress and Suns will bump up. Nuggets had 9 turnovers, Suns had 16. Suns won't have 16 next game, I promise you that. People tend to over-react to Game 1s. It was a good game and Malone had a fantastic game plan. Game 2 will be much tougher to win. Phoenix will make adjustments on both ends.

Jokic shot the ball below 50% and that may change to our favor as well. KCP missed some wide open 3's, MPJ wasn't even close to his efficiency and CB missed all of his shots. Their main players all shot the ball over 50%. So if Durant and Booker can increase their efficiency to like 70%, then it's going to be a tough game. They're due to some shooting slump now. The only thing I fear is that our team comes out cocky tomorrow night. I hope that is not going to happen

And the suns are much better than Minnesota Going up 2-0 would be amazing but it’s going to be very tough.

The Suns are typically going to shoot a higher % from the field because they take more 2 point attempts than the Nuggets. The key in this series is to continue to have good offensive process and to prevent the Suns from getting easy baskets.
The Suns are not going to win this series if you just force them to make tough shots (which they make at a high clip). If you can prevent them from getting easy looks (lay ups, free throws and open 3s) they can't win the math game against Denver.
I think Game 2 Phoenix is going to come out with their hair on fire. Especially Ayton.

just continue playing focused and physical. as I said, Suns lack players who enjoys physical basketball. and they also loves ISO. Nuggets on other hand are bigger, stronger and can play through contact. I agree game 2 will be way way tougher, but Nuggets can still impose their will

I understand saying that Gordon scoring 23 isn't going to happen again - but -
1. Jokic did not have a monster game
2. MPJ had ONE three-pointer
Murray will FEAST if teams focus too hard on Jokic and MPJ. If they bring all the action to Murray (as Minny did) then Jokic and MPJ gotta be ready (they both will be).
PHX is also getting very minimal time to adjust before game 2 (and Monty doesn't adjust - potentially with the exception of inserting certain players in over others).
Game 3 will be a larger challenge because there will be 3 full days to counter - but even then.... how far are CP3 and KD's "well over age 34" knees gonna take you?

Rewatched the game last night.
Joker is an animal, slowing down the Suns with his hedging and chasing down guys when they get past him, sprinting down the floor leaving Ayton in his dust and dominating the glass.
KD is just sitting in drop coverage so he can provide rim protection. AG made him pay with the 3s. I would not mind subbing AG early, and sliding MPJ to the 4 - forcing KD to guard him on the perimeter. Plus, nobody but KD seems able to stop AG from playing bully ball so it makes sense to get him as many minutes as possible the few minutes KD sits.
