It's put up or shut up time for Jokic and crew. This series scares me a bit because of Ant/Towns and the 2 big lineup exposing AG. Game 1 the Wolves should be exhausted but we'll see if the Nuggets come out with the right energy.
Really hoping we see a mature run from this group but who knows. Really all comes down to Jokic and how he treats these games effort wise.

If we are to lose one game at home in this series, the first game is the most likely one.
We are clearly rusty or not in peak form, competitive-wise. They will be tired but are hyped up, having blown out a young team last night.
I see upset tomorrow night as 50/50. If we win Game 1, a sweep is possible. But if we lose, a tough and exhausting series lies ahead, most likely. Wolves will take us to six or seven games in that instance.

If the Nuggets lose tomorrow, I think they lose the series. The Wolves just played back to back Game 7s basically and now have to travel to play in altitude.
They should be absolutely dead tired considering they play a 7 man rotation basically. There are no excuses for the Nuggets to lose this game. None. If they lose it, they aren't doing much in this run IMO.
The #1 thing that worries me in this series is AG against a KAT/Gobert frontcourt but you can't really play MPJ at the 4 because then he'd have to guard KAT defensively. It's a very tough spot for AG. He's the key to the series IMO.

a G1 loss would mean next to nothing. the Melo era Nuggets were the Kings of winning G1 and falling apart shortly after. the T'Pups are rolly right now so stealing the first one shouldn't be some great shock.

Losing game 1 would only mean something if we can’t win a single game in Minny, which we will. It will likely extend the series, though, to 6 or 7 games. Not ideal for team health or rest.

This is the game that the Wolves should be most tired, emotional letdown game, so much going against them. If they come into Denver and take Game 1 it's a major concern. This team is supposed to be a contender. They should do to Minnesota what Boston is doing to Atlanta right now. |
