I'd rather have a chance of losing in the finals than actually lose before then.

Although everything is possible I still don't see how we can lose to this Heat team. We're way better then them and these PO's are showing that the East is still a joke. Their line-up with Strus or Martin, Vincent, Robinson, Butler and Bam comon Because they play D and can shoot insanely well Miami only made 21 more threes than the Nuggets this year, but we shot at a higher % Nuggets 38% Heat 34.5% I don’t see a lot of heart from this Boston team either.

I rather have homecourt against the Heat, than having to go on the road for game 1 against the Celtics (they also get the benefit of corrupt officiating)
Bring on the Miami Heat

Having homecourt in the NBA Finals is all you can really ask for

I'd rather have a chance of losing in the finals than actually lose before then. See I know this is right. This makes sense. This is how sports work. Yet my heart can’t take it. I have eventually gotten over all the old playoff losses. 2009 game 3 and 2019 game 7 are two of most painful games I remember. But no longer painful. I hope losing in the finals will also eventually be just a memory.

It's going to take a historic choke job to not make the finals and basically be a foot note in NBA history if the Heat beat us. You honestly can't ask for a better situation right now as a Nugget fan. It's like years of shitty luck finally leveling out. We just need to not pull off one of the greatest choke jobs in history and we'll get to try and win a ring against a team that doesn't have a generational superstar/face a superteam. Out of all the past championship teams who would you rather face over Miami? .. Raptors? Spurs with an older Duncan/Leonard on the rise? If the Nuggets close out L.A .. it's about as good of a situation as you can hope for.
I don't care how much Boston choked .. Miami is the better matchup. Home court for Denver is absolutely massive. Boston missed so many good looks tonight and both Tatum/Brown absolutely choked. If Miami is going to shoot the lights out than so be it. Between Boston completely falling apart and Miami having back to back games shooting 50%+ from 3 it's a huge win for Denver IMO. Butler is a beast but outside of that your basically loving every single matchup for Denver. Even Herro. If he comes back he should be pretty rusty and it potentially shakes up the rotations/chemistry the Heat have been working with.

The Heat are way too small. Especially if Love misses real time.
Bam - 6'9" / Zeller 6'11" Love - 6'8" / Robinson - 6'7" Butler - 6'7" / Martin - 6'5" Struss - 6'5" Vincent - 6'2" / Lowry - 6'0"
We will bully them even more than we bullied the Lakers.

I forgot that Herro should be back for the finals.
It was a 4-6 week injury and it’s been 4 weeks.
They’ll get 20ppg back with him, but it could also throw off some of this crazy chemistry the Heat have going on right now.
I also think I remember Herro struggling last year or 2 years ago in the playoffs and their fans absolutely dogging on him.

We've seen how Bam is guarding Jokic. Who can guard AG? Is Vincent going to guard Murray. KCP can guard Butler. He'll get his but not 40 a night

Yeah and even if Love is back .. it's a dream matchup defensively. I know he doesn't play alot of minutes but for those 15 minutes your licking your chops. They also can't attack our defense like the Celtics could. I watched the game tonight and both Brown/Tatum were missing awesome looks. They didn't get shutdown. They choked. Brown is like 2-20 from 3 this series. Tatum shooting 25% from deep. It's not like the looks there getting are drastically different than what they've seen all year. Herro will be interesting. It's a hand injury. Being inserted in the finals after that is a huge ask .. but if he's available than it'll be hard for the Heat not to roll the dice on him.

The Heat love to double the ball. That's their bread and butter on defense. If they try that against us, Jokic and Murray are going to carve them up with passes.

Obviously you can throw KCP at him. But you can also exploit Love when he's on the floor. MPJ can cover Love and you can use Gordon's size on Butler for a bit.

On DraftKings, Nuggets are -220 favorites to win the championship. Heat are +230.

I feel a little more respect should be afforded to the team that just wasted two of the Eastern elite. Miami is like fighting a honey badger, yeah we *should* win, but it's going to take everything we have to defeat them.

Yeah we'd have alot of different options on both sides of the ball. AG on Butler would be the first one I'd like to see. I just don't see how Miami will guard Denver across the board. That's a situation where your basically hoping for Boston take 2 and Murray/Jokic to go brick mode. Home court can't be talked about enough either. That's beyond big for Denver if both teams get the job done. IMO Denver was the best team remaining but starting out a series with 2 games on the road is just tough. I forget the exact numbers but the winning % in games 1 and games 7 for teams with HCA in the finals is pretty absurd. I wanna say like 70%+.

I don't mean to disrespect the Heat .. just looking at the reality of the situation. If they win a ring this year it'll basically be NBA history. When's the last time a lower seed like that made a run? 1999 with the Knicks? Closest comparable would be I guess the Raptors in terms of star power? That took GS getting destroyed by injuries. Maybe if you wanna argue and say Butler is on Hakeem's level than you could include that one year with the Rockets. I personally wouldn't tho. Spurs with an old ass Duncan/young Leonard could be argued but you have the Pop factor. Not trying to take away from the Heat but Giannis wasn't healthy. If your watching this series .. your watching Tatum/Brown get good looks and just straight up brick them. Like the Nuggets played better defense on KD than Miami has on Tatum/Brown. So much basketball left to be played so not penciling anything in but if the Heat finish off the Celtics .. I don't think you could ask for a better year to be in the finals. It does put alot of pressure on Jokic I guess. If we finish off the Lakers and he's an All-Time great he'll need to destroy Bam and the Nuggets will basically have zero excuse.

Dream's Rockets won a title as the 6th seed so there's precedence.

Dream's Rockets won a title as the 6th seed so there's precedence. They got Clyde Drexler at the deadline and he put up 22/10/7/1 in 41 minutes a night in the Finals.
