to be fair, the 6ers post-Hinkie were victims are pretty bad mismanagement like: maxing both Al Horford and Toby Harris and having to give up draft capital to trade the former. choosing Ben Simmons over Jimmy Butler drafting hometown hero Mikal Bridges and trading him for Zhaire Smith, whose NBA career quickly ended due to an diagnosed sesame allergy the obvious Fultz over Tatum I could go on. I know fami will vomit reading this, but the 6ers could've easily won a championship if they didn't make so many glaring obvious mistakes. It looks like that in hindsight, but try to remember the rationale at the time, al decisions looked fairly legitimate. Young stars on rookie contracts with space to overpay some players. Tatum was 3rd, not second, and Fultz was viewed by many as #1 no brainer. Jimmy came to 76ers after a (rumored) massacre in a practice game and started making “problems” again. While on the other side you had a young player compared by same even with LeBron. It’s not easy, and there is no guarantee that such a long tanking will result in any better result than a reasonable rebuild.

yeah, to be fair, the Sixers could have won a championship if they'd made the right picks on a bunch of fronts, but they also could have ended up with someone like Exum or Jabari Parker instead of Embiid, RJ Hampton instead of Maxey, they could have missed on their two-way spot instead of signing Shake Milton ... like I think they made an above-average number of mistakes, but they also made plenty of solid plays. The Process wasn't unworkable in concept, and if they'd executed a bit better they could be like the current Celtics, but they could also be like the TWolves.

fair point on the "there's two sides to the what-if game via the draft", but I do believe whiffing on Mikal Bridges was an inexplicable blunder at the time.
there is no what-if however, on going all-in on a Tobias Harris/Al Horford duo in free agency, the latter of course playing the same position as your franchise player. nor is there no what-if on letting Butler walk when he was the best player during a playoff run where they were one lucky Kawhi shot + OT away from beating the eventual champions.

This Miami team is tough as hell. Not sure who'd be a better opponent for us if we make it thru

apologies to Brad Stevens, Bill Simmons, Matt Damon and the rest of the Boston faithful, but it may be time to admit defeat with the Celtic core.

The only way I can choose between Miami and Boston is homecourt and annoying Celtic fans in ball arena

20 point playoff 4th quarters, since the NBA began tracking the stat in 1997: Further proof - Jamal truly is one of few players in the league that can single-handedly win a game for you.

Grant Williams will have to be traded if Celtics lose this series. What a foolish thing he did, waking up Butler.
Their coach, Mazzulla, will be canned too. Udoka will be back with them if he isn’t going to another team.

I love the Heat.
big fan of Spo. It's pure joy watching that plucky band of undrafted and washed misfits powered by that basketball psychopath Jimmy Butler knock off an overrated Eastern conference contender one after another. literally any other season I would be rooting for them to win a ring. but it is what it is.
