The Nuggets in their previous prime of the middle 80's barely shot any threes. However, they were BY FAR the best mid-range teams in franchise history. Alex English was the Master of the mid-range, and in later years, that honor fell to Dre.
Even in the ABA, which invented the 3-point shot, there were very few players who fired them up. Louie Dampier of the Kentucky Colonels was the all-time greatest in that era, and although I haven't looked it up, I doubt he was anywhere close to the shooting percentages of good players now.

Jokic has passed Dan Issel to take sole possession of 11th in blocks. 30 more to break into the top 10 and pass Blair Rasmussen.
Four more threes to knock Gary Harris out of the top 5, three to tie him.

Understood on 3’s becoming a major utility later on in the nba - I still think it’s very cool what Murray is accomplishing.

I've watched thinking basketball podcast about Jokic. They had some discussion about is Jokic defensive liability in playoffs and is it possible to solve it. Second part was about is Jokic best offensive player ever. Not today, not center... Best. Offensive. Player. Ever. Now, I don't believe he is, but even to be mention in that context is insane. Then they said one stat line that wasn't mentioned above. And that define who Jokic is and what Nuggets basketball is.
Podcast was from December 31st, so data is from that day. Up to that moment, Nuggets with Nikola Jokic in the lineup had 33 assists per 100 possession. Not Jokic only, whole team. Only 3 times before team has had 30+ assists per 100 possessions with one man in lineup. GSW with Curry in 2017, and Nuggets with Jokic in last two seasons. Thats insane. But not as insane as next stat. So far, in history of NBA, biggest difference in number of assists for one team with and without one player in lineup is Cavs and LeBron(forgot year). Cavs, per 100 possessions, had 7 assists more with LeBron in lineup then without him. Second place is Nuggets with/without Jokic last season, 6.8 and third is Nuggets with/without Jokic two years ago, 6.5 This season, difference in number of assists Nuggets have with/without Jokic is... 11. Eleven. So without Jokic Nuggets have 22 assists per 100 possessions, with him 33. That is just not normal. The way this guy controls the game is just crazy. Like, we knew he was basketball savant, but he is true unicorn. Not sure when someone like him will appear(we see Sabonis plays same way, but they do not affect the game in same way)
ps. even though I don't think Jokic is best offensive player ever, I do believe Nuggets can win title with his defense. I actually think they gonna do it this year.

Jokic got his 400th career block tonight.
Another week or two to pass Nene on the steals list.

This should go here. Fatty in last 5: 4 triple doubles and 1 Sombor double(9 assists)
40/53 for 2 (in 3 games didn't miss a shot) - 75.47% 6/11 for 3 - 54.54% 18/21 for 1 - 85.71% 116 pts - 23.2 pts per game 66 rbs - 13.2 rbs per game 59 ast - 11.8 ast per game 7 stl - 1.4 stl per game 3 blk - 0.6 blk per game 15 tov - 3.8 tov per game 80 +/- (double digit +/- in every game) - 16 +/- per game
These are insane numbers, even for him. One might argue 3.8 turnovers per game is a bit too much, but for almost 12 assists and with those shooting percentages? Its not. Not to mention crazy consistency. He didn't rack up numbers in 3 games and was average in other 2, he had similar stats in every single game. Just fing crazy.
I honestly think he is playing his best season. This is peak Jokic. Only thing left, you know it, should come in June.
