Last thing I'll say on politics: PSA for anybody on women's/reproductive health. If you haven't lived through it directly or have friends or family who have, you genuinely may not know. And that's not your fault. "Abortion" as it typically gets characterized is the tip of the f***ing iceberg on what all is rolled up into this issue, and what is put at risk. If you miscarry (a lot lot lot lot more common than somebody deciding to terminate a viable pregnancy), there are a lot of risks and medical options that all live in this f***ing world of politicians asking the doctor, "mind if I take a peek?". The excruciating ass medication you take to help move a completely nonviable pregnancy through your system is what they so callously call "the abortion pill". Or when you miscarry, you can get a procedure to ensure everything is out of your system and severe complications are avoided. Also medically an abortion. Hey why don't we just ban them after a period of time! Great - certain states have tried 6 or 8 weeks, when you probably don't know your pregnant or are not even close to out of the highest risk period for miscarriage. What if you have a severe complication at 25 weeks? This is absolute high risk to the mother stuff, and here comes Mitch McConnell to tell you tough s**t. To say nothing of fertility treatments and what not that got banned in Alabama for a period of time and congressional republicans has been unwilling to vote to protect for some reason even though in election season they're all for it. And then yes, your classic excruciating decision to end a pregnancy for whatever that person's reason is. Why the f**k is it the government's business? Why is that not a personal decision? And why don't men recuse themselves outright from this given they have no personal health stakes? What about classic boogeyman late term abortions? You know, where the woman goes through massive physical and emotional changes that come with a pregnancy - all the sickness, hormones, gains a massive amount of weight, back issues, can't sleep at night, pisses every six seconds, doctor's appts- goes through absolutely all of that hell maybe with a partner and maybe completely alone - and then makes the decision to not proceed. That basically doesn't happen statistically because read above all the stuff they signed up for and went through, and where it does happen, there's probably significant information that's nobody's f***ing business but hers as to why they're doing what they're doing. It's not a real issue. Citing a case here or there and not bothering to understand the story is f***ing trash. Now on the idea states can decide - why would public health, and arguably the most important public health issue to our civilization - be state to state? States don't get to decide who they admit or care for on anything other f***ing issue. And it's great that a state like Colorado hasn't restricted access. But they're very much open to federal regulation. That's not remotely set in stone. End rant. Women don't deserve this s**t. The people who support him hate women. They want women to suffer. Pointing out that his policies are harmful to women is basically a campaign ad for him. |

Why on earth do the Democrats still parade the Clintons around? Bill is a disgusting old fool for innumerable reasons and nobody, at any point in time, has ever liked Hillary Clinton (not even Bill). You won't hear me praise Dubya for much but at least he had the sense to f**k off and go away after he was done being a war criminal.

Voted straight-ticket red, all the way down to city council today. The R's are having a major shift. Uniparty (Romney, McCain, Cheney) has been banished from the GOP. This is no longer a party beholden to defense and pharmaceutical companies. Honestly - never been more proud to vote Republican than now. No party is perfect, but this is a renaissance period for the GOP. Here is a new avatar for you in your support of the modern day GOP.  Fami, Jimi, and Camby all putting a swatiska up to describe me. I love that I'm one of the few "minorities" (with brown skin) in this forum, and yet whitties in here call me a "nazi." It was Dean Obeidalllah, the Muslim attorney and progressive Sirius XM radio talk show host, who said today’s GOP under Trump amounts to a White Power movement. And he explained that nonwhites who are part of the party are simply there out of selfishness in getting in on some of that white power and all its benefits they perceive. Famous Trumpist nonwhite pols and celebs are lavished with benefits from party members, as they show a sort of fake diversity of the movement for propaganda purposes.
I’m not saying any nonwhites here who support Trump are here due to selfishness or are bigoted themselves, because they most likely aren’t. But the general rule of thumb, according to Dean, is that nonwhite Trump supporters are not considering other nonwhites when part of the Trump cult. He says they are also often doing so based on a mistaken belief that Trumpism isn’t a white power or hate movement. I’m not quoting Dean word for word, but I heard him explain it on his show.
IMO, people join cults for various reasons, and should not be pigeon holed into a single reason as to why they do. But Trumpism is a form of political cult, as its most devoted supporters won’t quit, no matter the damning new facts that come out about Trump and his people later on. It’s unfortunate.
Again, I’m Jewish and hesitate to use the swastika. But there is something very fascist or authoritarian about Trump, as told by his generals and those who were closest to him last time. For anyone to deny that is to close off one’s mind to new or factual information.

“Nazi” is just a label. I’m not here to insult people. Just want to explain to them how wrong and captured by the cult they are, IMHO.
The fascism is real, though. Evangelical Right gives Trump the power to rule. And I’ve used the term Christofascism to describe them. Trump isn’t religious. He believes in only one God, HIMSELF!
But he will try to invoke many of the worst elements of Project 2025, while his buddy Elon Musk tries to strip the government to shreds. His closing argument is that America’s economy needs to crash and the people need to go through hardship in order to gain longer term prosperity. Elon Musk is a dangerous NUT, and a fascist too.

It’s a special brand of evil, potentially, whether one wants to label it Naziism or not. It’s UnAmerican. It’s beyond disgusting. Still, I try to use facts and logic in my posts, and to minimize the insults as they are based on emotions. Such emotions are understandable as I just said, but I try to use different argument techniques. |
