First attempt at an olive branch to the fanbase? Carmelo is at the Avalanche game tonight in a Peter Forsberg jersey and an Avs hat. Maybe he finally listened to all the fans saying "if this guy acted like he cared about this city at all, we could forgive the way he left"... Who cares about Carmelo? He won’t ever win me back as a fan.

First attempt at an olive branch to the fanbase? Carmelo is at the Avalanche game tonight in a Peter Forsberg jersey and an Avs hat. Saw that as well. Was watching in the background during the Avs game. He's got a ton of Avs gear on. His son was wearing a Redwings jersey tho lol it does seem to be a way that athletes/teams PR try to get some easy love from a fanbase. You saw it tonight with Jokic giving MacKinnon the Hart trophy. Both teams are owned by Stan/Josh as well. Still think he's absolutely SOL tho. I could see him getting a celebration at a game or something eventually but I'd be shocked if he ever gets his number retired. I don't even care personally but it's lowkey hilarious how Jokic was the next superstar after Melo and wore 15 and won a championship lol

100% Trump only cares about one thing...grifting from the suckers. All Trump voters are missing something upstairs, in different places. For many it's fear. For others it's hatred. Some a one-issue. Guns. Jesus. Misogeny. For many, they're just as dumb as a post. Or a combination of all these things. Heaven help us is he somehow wins. I think the key going forward no matter who wins is meeting the other side with compassion and a genuine desire to understand Namecalling probably isnt the way to go

Nuggetshipster, you're right. Even though my feelings are strong, and I believe the correct ones, there are people here, and out there, who I like and would like to remain on good terms with despite political differences.

Obama, whose neoliberalism gave the US Trump in 2016, whose machiavellian machinations in 2020 cursed the planet with that demented warmonger Genocide Joe because he couldn't stand having an actual progressive in power undermine his modest center-right incrementalist "legacy", is now vote-shaming black men and calling them misogynist for not sufficiently supporting Kamala. that's a bold strategy cotton, let's see if it works out for them!
this just goes to show Obama's alleged "political savvy" was just a product of the DNC machine.

The only reason Trump was able to win after Obama (aside from our racist and antiquated Electoral College) was because Obama was our first black president, and Trump was racist White America’s retribution, though I realize many non-white voters voted for him too, and a large minority of white voters including me voted for Hillary. Van Jones coined the term “Whitelash”, and that’s exactly what it was. Without this racist element in our society, Hillary Clinton would have been a 4 or 8 year president. The rest of your comment is irrelevant since our Middle East policy is, more or less, the same regardless of party. In other words, you personalize it on Biden too much and regurgitate a Trumpian style nickname, “Genocide Joe”, that the pro-Palestinian protesters came up with. I agree our country supports a country committing a genocide, which disgusts me, but it’s bipartisan with the exception that the GOP would give Netanyahu even more of a blank check to commit atrocities any way and anywhere he wants.

Biden is a self-described Zionist that views Israel's hegemonic dominance over the entire Levant as the top national security priority that supersedes all other foreign and domestic concerns, even as their proxy state takes a bulldozer to US standing across the globe. Bernie would have stopped this madness by now. and even though I'm highly critical of him, I believe even Obama would have read the writing on the wall and put a end to Bibi Milekowsky violently remaking the Levant in his image.

I think you’re dreaming if you think any other president would have had a materially different impact on Israel’s behavior, post 10/7. Our country has one steadfast ally in the region, Israel, the only democracy in the region, and no president would have banned weapons shipments, not even Bernie, though he talks a good game from the sidelines.

Israel by no definition of the word is a democracy. in the words of the preeminent human rights organization B'Tselem, Israel is a Jewish supremacist state from the river to the sea. I promise you neither of us know more about the dynamic of Israeli society than they do.
I'm old enough to remember Obama on his way out from abstaining from the United Nations Security Council resolution demanding an end to Israeli settlements on Palestinian territory. the figurative roof did not fall in on his head. the US allows the Zionist state to commit these heinous crimes against humanity because they don't oppose their ultimate aim: hegemony and imperialist dominance.

Israel is not a democracy. You don't get to call yourself a democracy if most of your population lives in an open air prison. f**k outta here with that noise.

All the polling was conducted before the Univision town hall the other day, I’m sure. Notice Harris support is 2/1 over Trump among women, while it’s within margin of error among men. Just shows how strong the abortion issue, combined with Trump’s misogynistic appeal to men regardless of ethnicity, plays into polling results. I still think Harris is the favorite to win Nevada, Arizona, and Colorado (maybe not all three) which have the highest non-Cuban Hispanic populations. Florida, which has the Cuban American voters, will likely go to Trump. No surprise.

Just look at America with how we treated Native Americans, almost wiping them out, and more recently Vietnamese in our imperialistic war which you are too young to remember. Even more recently, which you should remember, we invaded and occupied Iraq on false pretenses and destroyed so many lives in that country that actually dwarfs the Gaza genocide so far. Is America “not a democracy”? All a democracy means is that voters get to select their leaders and hold incumbents accountable. It doesn’t guarantee such leaders won’t be genocidal.

as the US were disenfranchising the Africans they forced to work on their cotton fields and violently colonizing land that belonged to the indigenous population, they were by no definition a democracy. they were a settler-colony that had two sets of laws and allowed a partial vote to those they deemed worthy. just like Israel.

In old times, the early America was an oppressive state that enslaved Africans. But when it crossed over to being more of a true democracy in the 20th century, it still committed atrocities and lied to its population to manufacture consent for said atrocities, Vietnam and Iraq being the most clear examples, but the underclass inside America is also being held down due to propaganda and other lies that have made wealth and income inequality obscene in its extremity.

Did the half of the country that didn't support the Vietnam or Iraq wars end up in an open air concentration camp and subjected to genocide? no? Then I guess that was a stupid ass comparison, huh? You gloriously missed the point of the argument in the first place. The point was that the people of Palestine have no voice in the "democracy" so it isn't actually a democracy. If you and me vote between us to beat the crap out of four other dudes and nobody asked them, what happened wasn't a democratic process.

If you and me vote between us to beat the crap out of four other dudes and nobody asked them, what happened wasn't a democratic process. It doesn’t matter WHERE atrocities happen. Villagers in Vietnam and families in Iraq didn’t ask for our country to be in their countries, causing death and destruction. Our democracy still destroyed the lives or quality of life for millions of people in those war torn countries on the basis of lies. What Israel is doing in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, and soon elsewhere isn’t to “their own citizens”. These places are not part of Israel either, though the far right in Israel and their Orthodox citizens want to make it so by annexing with illegal settlements. The Palestinians in Gaza and West Bank have no country of their own, and that’s the problem. They never had voting rights in Israel because they aren’t in Israel and aren’t Israeli citizens. Your analogy isn’t valid since they are outside Israel even if right next door. BTW, the Arabs and Palestinians who live inside Israel are citizens, though with second class status. Democracies can be some of the most warlike and brutal countries imaginable. Even pre-WWII Germany democratically elected Hitler and the Nazis.

Gaza and the WB are separate from Israel the same way Kashmir is separate from India or the Western Sahara is separate from Morocco. Israel occupies their land, dominates their lives, deprives the population of any rights and subjects them to military rule. the fact Israel wants the want the land and not the people is irrelevant. any claims to democractic values is invalid until they 1. end the occupation 2. give Palestinians the same rights as ISraelis.
