The L was disappointing but it was a great game and our guys represented well. When Karl substituted Carter for Anderson before the inbounds play, my wife and I both said "uh oh". Seemed like a mistake to go so small, and we've seen Carter throw away too many passes to trust him. GK's man crush for small ball got the better of his judgment there. If the plan was to get it in Chaucey's hands we should have had Melo inbounding the ball. He would have had better vision and passing angles than Carter. Then Melo could have run around a screen to find space on the floor, as opposed to letting the Lakers set up their defense to blanket Melo while we struggled to inbound the ball. And what kind of offensive threat is Carter? Andersen is a bigger threat to score off a putback than Carter is to score period.
Bad strategy decision by Karl.
Still looking forward to game 2.

Kobe's 40 doesn't bother me. I've said many times, he can score as much as he wants. Derek f***ing Fisher killed us. He hit 3s late in both halfs... stay at home defensively and let Kobe score.

Exactly. Good basketball IQ tells you that if you're winning and kobe is not on 3 point range, he can only get 2 points. Why help and let him kick it out for a 3. Thats just not smart basketball at all

Now that I have calmed down:
* the Carter pass has to rank high on list of all time bonehead plays. Here's a veteran guard with a timeout in his pocket...again I ask, what is his value....what does he do that Jones or Balkman could not offset?
* on the bright side, we were on the road and almost won despite sub par games from Billups, Smth, and Jones.

Tough loss but encouraging. I hope Karl can get out of his funk and let the team know that with better free throw shooting and a typical job by the bench and the Nuggs win Game 2 by 10.

It is beyond a bad strategy decision. There is absolutely no reason to have AC in there! He's not an offensive threat of any sort and he's too small to crash the boards. He's not even a great passer. So why the f*ck was he in there? The L was disappointing but it was a great game and our guys represented well. Miss 11 FTs, turn the ball over 15 times, get outrebounded by 9 and give up 17 offensive rebounds... you don't deserve to win the game. Melo was great, Kenyon was good, Billups was good, Andersen did his job... pretty much everyone else had a bad-to-horrible game. Put all those things together, and this loss feels like Game 3 in New Orleans, and Game 4 in Dallas. Games in which we really didn't play well, but had a chance to win at the end. We definitely let one get away here, but I certainly don't think it's the end of the world. Make FTs and we win, get a couple more rebounds and we win, take care of the ball and we win. We have a lot of room for improvement, but I'm not really sure where LA improves. We shot better than we usually do, and LA shot worse than they ususally do... I think that's about it. Co-sign.

I vote Chauncey to take over full coaching duties for the rest of this series. Karl can't cut it, his lineups and decisions are just so overthought. AC being a pg doesn't mean he's a calming force, that guy has turnovers that make JR look like he has Magic's BBall IQ and he can't f***ing defend bigger players, he's just too short for one, and while you'd think he should at least be able to keep guys in front of him...well he's mediocre at best in that. I knew that game was over when Karl decided to play AC over JR with the 7pt lead midway in the 4th. JR had just hit a 3 a few minutes earlier and showing signs, and while we had a lead its not like our offense was clicking on all cylinders AND Nene had to sit with foul trouble leaving us like 3 on 5 offensively with Melo/Bill/K.
I am fully convinced that we are the better team on the court, but LA has a HUGEEEEEEEEEEEE advantage on the bench.
Still I think we break that record for Phil after winning game 1s. I think we go up 3-1 heading back to LA.

I'm pretty sure Chauncey is coaching this team now, and thank jebus for that. Karl looked and sounded like he was gonna kill himself after Tuesday's game... the players had a much more appropriate demeanor. From what I saw from interviews at practice yesterday, the players' attitude has made its way to the coach.

Chauncey should coach himself and say "Stop missing bunny layups, b***h"

AC is a fine backup PG with a penchant for throwing retarded passes. But fopr a backup, his positives outweigh his negatives. And he bring s alot over Dahntay. Dahntay just blows......he is good at defending 3 or 4 players in the league, but gets hosed by full size SG's. AC's defense on Kobe was a hell of a lot better than Jones'.

Chauncey should coach himself and say "Stop missing bunny layups, b***h" Or make freethrows or stop taking dumb shots. Here I was thinking Carmelo had a low basketball IQ, now I find out his just may be higher than our champion point guard.
