BIllups stepped out on the 3 pointer at the end. Melo stepped on the line for the 3 thats why it was only 2 points. The Refs didn't give the Lakers the game, in fact the Nuggets had more free throw shot attempts.
The Nuggets can only blame themselves...
GO LAKERS!

We didn't suck ass by any means. If our constants are defensive intenisty and ball-movement we will have a chance to win every game of the series. It will come to making shots and in all likelihood who makes plays down the stretch. If someone had told me that ft's would be the biggest reason we couldn't beat a team as loaded as the Lakers in WCF, I'd have taken it 100 of 100 times.

I'm with you Ruru. I definitely hear what you're saying, but knowing that we lost a game where if you didn't look at the score you would think we were blowing LA out, I can't feel confident. We win this game, it lets me know that we may actually pull out this series. Us losing is like "ok we played our best and still lost, how the hell can we win", you understand what I'm saying? Now JR, who was a disgrace out there tonight, now hyperextended his knee. I just can't feel to good, man.
There is 1 thing that is the absolutely truth and why I'm worried.Doesn't matter if Carmelo is hot or not, when JR is in the game, HE MAKES HIMSELF THE FIRST OPTION. And every time its the same thing, do the pick and roll. If it doesn't work, JR chucks a 3. I'm not basing this off of one game, that is the absolute truth. People always bring up about how he has 6 assist in a game or whatever. But people fail to realize when he's getting them assist its because he's dominating the ball. The reason why people love him is because he makes ridiculous shots and he has the tendency to get hot at any moment. People try to act like he's such a smart players because he put up numbers, but fail to realize he has an even lower IQ then people claimed Carmelo has/had.
The difference between the Cavs, Heat. Lakers, and Nuggets is one thing. They play through their superstar, we play away from our superstar. Bring up the "omfg, Carmelo has bad ballhandling" bull**** all you want. But it's not like he just gets the ball ripped from him. If you don't want Carmelo bringing the ball upcourt, give hit to him on the wing in the halfcourt. Why do we constantly go away from him? Yes, I know Carmelo can't get 100 touches a game and I'm not asking for it. But when he's the best player on the team and the game is close, I want him treated like Kobe. Give him the ball and make the damn decision. Now listen, I'm not going to bash Billups because he made some big shots this game. But even his 3 at the end with a minute left, over Gasol, was a bad shot. Even he froze Carmelo out a few times when Carmelo was opened. The truth of the matter is, we go away from our star player to much. It was pointed out in a thread the other day and someone responded with "As long as we're winning, it doesn't matter". Sorry, it does matter. Because constantly doing something 1 way, makes it a habbit. People hate me because I constantly point out things we do wrong, even when we're win. Truth of the matter is, everything can't go my way. I understand that. But playing through your star player should be a given and even with Billups supposedly adding leadership, and supposedly give the ball to the players at the right time, the fact still remains from when Carmelo was a rookie. We don't give him enough touches. Carmelo took 20 shots and made 14. Kobe took 28 shots and had like 10+ freethrows. If that's not a sign of Carmelo not geting enough touches, then what is?

f***ing had the game and choked it up big time, kmart with the dumbass foul sending kobe to the line for 2 and then ac lovely inbound pass straight to ariza. The effort and everything was there the whole game, if the nugs had another consisent performer on offense to help melo in crunch time we would of won.
Im sort of depressed with the way jr plays with melo, he's becoming quite the ball hog and always seems to freeze him out of the offense, i don't get it these guys are best buddy's off the court. Maybe melo needs to tell his ass and everyone to give him the god damn ball when he's hot. It'd strange that everytime the nugs lost in the postseason it's by two points and the fact that some dude on realgm guessed that our bench will only mustered out 16 points is incredeble.
Im not sold on the fact that the series is over, this is just the beginning of a great series and if we take game two then the nugs accomphished what they were after in taking homecourt away from the lakers.

Wow, you just blew my mind, dude! I've been saying the same thing for 5 years now. First it was Andre Miller, then AI, & finally this year we seemed to run the offense through Melo. Theres a reason why LBJ & DWade get so much rep. Besides being great players, their team runs thee offense through them most of the time. The Spurs don't go away from Duncan, & the Mavs don't go away from Dirk!!! Why do the Nugs seem to love working around melo. He continually proves he's the teams best player, yet there no MAJOR effort to get him the ball. Why is that GK?

Well nobody ever says anything about rebounding, but you don't win many road games in the nba when you give up so many second chance points. If that's something we just have to live with, it's gonna be a long series.
We only ended up plus three from the line and the lakers got an extra 16 fga's. The game shouldn't have been as close as it was.

But Melo cant do it all by himself. Thats why we bring in J.R
Yes, I gree common sense tells you that if one player hot, give him the ball. I wouldnt blame that on J.R cause sometimes when he hot, he dont get the ball through periods. Its crazy. I know Melo stopped getting the ball in the beginning of the 2nd quarter. But I dont remember him getting freed up in the 4th. Kobe harrassed him and we kinda shyed away from him
Just too many missed opportunites and mistakes I wish we could rewind and do over
