Wow...the game is earlier than usual.
Melo's picture is hilarious. It was his second basket after halftime, and since it was an AND1, he started screaming, "I'm Back! I'm Back!!!"
Edit: Nevermind about the timing of the game; I didn't realize it was set to Mountain Time.

DEFENSE: Awesome. Definitely no need for doubles on Dirk in this series. I was pissed when they started doubling him some in the 3rd and opening up the perimeter. Taking away one or two dimensions of his game is all that's necessary.

What was up with the ratty retarded kid sitting next to Cuban? Wearing a dirty t-shirt jumping up and down like a fool. Did Cuban bring some buddies with him since the Special Olympics were canceled in Texas?

Taking away one or two dimensions of his game is all that's necessary. Agreed. Double-teaming a jumpshooter is a pointless concept. Moreso with Dirk because he has the height to pass over the double, and the shooters/slashers he has around him are more than likely to find and make any wide-open baskets. I didn't see the first half of the game, but in the second half I was impressed with Birdman's defense on Nowitzki. Bird's length is something that actually bothers Dirk; on the contrary, it seemed to me like Dirk found K-Mart to be an easy match-up (but maybe it was because he couldn't miss).

Game two:
Start JR Use Balki instead of LK
We need to force their hand when it comes to Barea. Make him defend either Chauncey or JR. I'm not saying he hurt us today, but we could really jump out on them if he gets another start. It could help Chauncey get going too.
LK doesn't really have an exploitable matchup in this series and he has the potential to really hurt us on the defensive end. He's too slow for Howard, too small for dirk, too weak for Bass. Balki can matchup with any of the three much better.

Who exactly are we saving Balk for? Kobe...or Lebron?

He wasn't really retarded, obviously I wouldn't pick on your people like that. It was just a geek trying to kiss Cuban's ass. Was sitting near him, not with him. Your hero probably hates retards.

Dirk was 5-5 when Kenyon gave him the elbow. After that, he went 6-16 the rest of the way. He had 10 points in the first six minutes of the half. Then he had 18 more points in the following 35. Looks like he folded to me. As for the refs, go to hell. Our best player played about 5 minutes in the first half and ended up with 10 total shots for the game because of foul trouble. There were countless other fouls that could have been called on the Mavs. (remember the replay where JR was hit in the face as he hit a spinning shot?) Did we get away with some? Of course we did. No question about it. On the other hand, we attacked more. The Mavs offense was either get it to Dirk for the midrange shot or kick it out for a three. Almost 1/4 of their shots were threes. Our ball movement destroyed theirs (28 to 17 in assists with the same number of made baskets) And in the final quarter, it wasn't the FT that determined the game. The score went from 86-82 to 97 to 82 with 2 Denver FT. (and no questionable calls on the Nuggets in that time period) The better team won the game.

I don't think I've ever once said before that I like Dahntay's offense (and for good reason), but I enjoyed watching him post up on Barea. Not only is that such an easy matchup to exploit, it's a good way to knock the kid around a little bit when he's on D that hopefully will take him a notch or two out of his offensive game. He was a total non-factor in game 1.

I even specifically remember three consecutive possessions where we posted up Nene, Melo, and then Dahntay.

You are a post wh_ore. How did you rack up nearly 1000 posts in a little under 2 months? You even managed to break peanut's record.

In all fairness tho he hasn't been doing that for a while
