I don't think I've ever once said before that I like Dahntay's offense (and for good reason), but I enjoyed watching him post up on Barea. Not only is that such an easy matchup to exploit, it's a good way to knock the kid around a little bit when he's on D that hopefully will take him a notch or two out of his offensive game. He was a total non-factor in game 1. I really like Dahntay some people don't but he never gets down and it gives confidence to guys who need it. His physical game on Barea and Kidd, and Terry can frustrate them Keep it up

something else i noticed from game 1...
after that kmart elbow on dirk....dallas did nothing. 3 guys ran over to nowinski, to see if he was okay. and then terry's punny ass ran up to kmart but got intercepted by nene and did basically nothing.
that's a truly soft team. kmart does that to lebron, garnett, kobe, gasol, duncan...someone does that to melo/billups...you're at least gonna get some pushing and shoving.
the mavs just take it like b*****es.

ah well... I guess we don't get to see mega-hottie julie browman anymore. Julie Browman grew up in Evergreen Colorado, and loves working in her hometown. You will see her on Nuggets broadcasts as a reporter and anchor, as well as on the George Karl show and other Altitude programs. Julie graduated from the University of Kansas where she worked at the college radio station and majored in Journalism. Her first job after she graduated was at KOA radio where she produced for Dave Logan and Scott Hastings. After much therapy, Julie moved to San Diego where she was on the air at XTRA Sports 690. She was part of a morning show and also co-hosted USC football pre-game shows. After a couple years of radio, Julie moved on to be the weekend sportscaster at KGTV in San Diego. Favorite sports movie: The Natural Favorite movie overall: The Gladiator Favorite sports book: Jim McMahon Autobiography Favorite movie overall: Majical Thinking Favorite sports moment: Being on the field in San Diego when the Broncos won their first SuperBowl! One of the best scenes was when the players carried John Elway off the field on their shoulders. Favorite home team moment: When the Nuggets beat the Suns in triple overtime at home. Can't beat that excitement and the crowd. Favorite band: Creed (despite the fact that they broke up) The best thing about working at Altitude: Definitely the people...and getting to interview Doug Moe! Person I’d like to meet: George Clooney When I was a kid, I wanted to be a: Veterinarian www.altitude.tv/bio/default.aspx?ID=iFr8lB786VQ=

Awesome. Definitely no need for doubles on Dirk in this series. I was pissed when they started doubling him some in the 3rd and opening up the perimeter. Taking away one or two dimensions of his game is all that's necessary. Agreed. Double-teaming a jumpshooter is a pointless concept. Moreso with Dirk because he has the height to pass over the double, and the shooters/slashers he has around him are more than likely to find and make any wide-open baskets. I didn't see the first half of the game, but in the second half I was impressed with Birdman's defense on Nowitzki. Bird's length is something that actually bothers Dirk; on the contrary, it seemed to me like Dirk found K-Mart to be an easy match-up (but maybe it was because he couldn't miss). Its somewhat misleading if you only saw half the game. A significant difference between Dirk at the beginning and Dirk in the second half was just fatigue. We wore him out. Bird did a great job, but also I think Dirk was just getting tired. It was the same thing in the first two games against NO -- they hung with us for 2 1/2 quarters, then our defensive intensity took its toll on them and their offense started falling apart. This game went along in a very similar way.

He knocked him around and stuck with him tight the whole game, even when he was making shots over him (which was a lot) he got worn down, he was useless in the fourth. If you are going to say he's fatigued give due to the guy who fatigued him most.

Altitude is definitely a factor. Prime athletes, presumably required to be playing at elite levels can still be affected by such things. It takes upwards a week for full acclimation to normal behavior. For full acclimatization (at least as far as any individual is going to) can be months or years. I'm sure it factored in, but a good game plan takes that into account and it looked like we did.
