Not a single player that is able to beat his man 1v1, not a single player that is able to drag double team and create open look. We never had that type of player in Jokic era. Every time he sits, every bench unit sucks, no matter the combination. This is where Malone gets exposed as a tactician. With Straw and MPJ on this unit, there is scoring available if they run some plays. |

Every time he sits, every bench unit sucks, no matter the combination. This is where Malone gets exposed as a tactician. With Straw and MPJ on this unit, there is scoring available if they run some plays. Honestly against a zone is the one time you'd want a guy like Saric on the floor. He can flash to the FT line and playmake. Zeke is a horrible fit against a zone. |

Malone has a lot of "tactician" faults. Bench is never Malone fault imo. You need to have a dribble penetration or good PnR to create an open shots for Straw/MPJ. We dont have a PG that can beat his man off the dribble or a proper backup C |

Westbrook is absolutely a difference maker on the defensive side of the ball. Look at those defensive possessions. Him and Braun just blow everything up.

Now comes to portion of the night where I question the sanity of Malone and Booth for having Trey active tonight, especially with Jamal back. 9/50 games burned for no reason at all.

Even in his prime Russ was not able to be effective in half court offense unless he had a lob threat (Steven Adams) who also was setting best screens in the NBA in that period. Russ with Zeke or Saric at this age is not what you think he is in half court offense that HEAT forced us to play with that full court pressure into a zone. |
