probably worst team in the league, and half of them are injured... but its good to have one blow out win.
good thing is that MPJ is starting to find his footing. other thing is Jokic is taking 4.5 threes per game with 60% shooting. thats insane.

Loved the energy in this one. Utah sucks, but when has that ever mattered for this team? I'm happy with a blowout.
Tyson's been pretty solid. Never thought I'd type that sentence, but he's looking much better than he did last year. Good for him

So proud of Straw - knew he could be our bench scorer - gives me great hope for the season.
The real difference for me tonight though was DeAndre (and benching Saric). I really hope Malone is readied to deploy DJ for 10 to 15 mins per night. That's not a lot of ask of him, and if he gives us 5 to 10 rebounds during those mins, then we win most of those games.

Colorado needs to bring back the death penalty for Booth if we really have to rely on DJ playing 10mpg

Christian Braun through 6 games as a starter:
14.5/5/2/1/1 on 52/42/88 with some pretty good defense.
Extend him while you can.

Really love how MPJ has approached the last 2 games and some of it may simply be that Murray is off the floor so he's getting more opportunities. But he's not just standing in the corner and shooting. He's been attacking his defenders and getting to the rim/using his dribble and footwork to open up his pull up game as well.

Great news too is that his shot looks smooth & he has no hesitation with it. He's a starting to just let it go wjen he's open + his ability to get downhill amd get to FT line is huge. DEN currently taking 27.8 FTs compared to 19.9 last year. That's such a big positive for this team. Russ, Braun, Jok, and AG all getting to line at good clips!

He was so aggressive that 1st quarter. Well get a TOR squad next, that will be missing Barnes. Wiuld love to see us put them down early, but they also just beat SAC so won't be necessarily easy. MPJ up to 37.5% from 3. His shooting getting back to his norm. Hopefully we keep using him more offensively. Keep him engaged!

If MPJ accept last year of his contract, and I dont think he will turn down 40M, Jokic, Jamal, MPJ and AG will earn 185M I have no idea what Booth plan is, but for next season Nuggets are 195M with 11 players(without Saric and Westbrook) and in 2026. its gonna be worse... deal with Gordon plus projected salary cap increase will keep Nuggets under second apron, but there is no way they can sign anyone to anything above 10M and if CB continue playing like this he will get 20M, if not more.

They might as well package nnaji saric and picks now for an expiring that can help this year. Having saric and nnaji on books next year makes no sense. Nnaji saric 31 1st for Schroder.

Selling Fami scouting stock with Tyson looking somewhat playable Sample size. Happy as hell if I turn out to be wrong but I really, really don't think I am. The more you see the more you'll see his limitations.

The more you see the more you'll see his limitations. But was it a scenario with the gold where he had too big a role? Like maybe in a much smaller role he can just focus on playing defense and taking open 3s?

But was it a scenario with the gold where he had too big a role? Like maybe in a much smaller role he can just focus on playing defense and taking open 3s? Taking open 3s is literally the only thing he did period last year. The only defense he played at all was swiping at people who happened to dribble near him and occasionally getting steals. He rebounded worse than the guards, he didn't box out a single person all year, he didn't set any screens, he almost never passed, he never ran the court. He literally just stood at the far side elbow at the 3 point line and pouted whenever he didn't get the ball. For an entire season.

The more you see the more you'll see his limitations. Just last night. He stayed in front of his man consistently. He navigated screens well and he moved correctly on rotations. Doing just that and spacing floor is a net positive for the Nuggets. His only bad defensive play was when Collins took him down low. But Braun also struggled eith Collins in that situation.

Hunter needs to show he can make a 3 before we can have realistic hope for him. He doesn’t make 3’s at this level, not even in preseason. Maybe it’s in his head, but it seems maybe the college 3 was the limitation of his efficient range. Also, let’s see a good stint from him against a playoff team, not against Utah.

Nuggets will have 2 players costing over 50M, one 40M and one 30M. you can't build team that way. and since Jamal just sign an extension, I think they will move MPJ sooner rather then later, taking whatever deal they can. if they somehow can deal MPJ and Zeke, move them off the books, they can get two 20M guys... its far from perfect, probably going to hurt us in a long run, but you can't have 4 players costing over 170M. that leaves you with 10 minimum contract players and rookies. thats unsustainable. you need 3-4 rotation players that worth 10-15M each along 2-3 high paid guys. thats your 6 man rotation, plus two veterans and two guys on rookie deals. thats how we won title. we had Jamal, MPJ and Jokic on max deals, AG and KCP earning less then 35 combined, plus BB, Green and CB to make 8 man playoff rotation. AG cost little more then we would've liked, but we got Bruce for nothing, so it evens out. but trying to get Bruce Brown type of player every year for 5M is fools gold. its not happening.

I will agree with you here. While Tysons shot looks fine, he hasn't shown he can actually make 3s efficiently yet. That's my biggest concern with him.
