Nuggets are still awful. One chance we have in this game, Wolves are almost as bad as we are.
So this game will be decided by who sux less. and if that is the case, Im not optimistic, cause Nuggets are sucking big time now. But hey, we still have Jokic, and there is a big chance that Randle will be as bad as Jamal and MPJ combined, so we shouldn't just lay down and die.
Oh, and I will be sleeping this time. There is no way Im staying up at 2:30 AM to watch this shitshow.

Minnesota has also been uneven, but I would assume Minnesota covers 4.5 at home given they have 2024 NBA quality three point shooting, they bottle up Murray every time, and they will not allow Jokic to score 1:1 at will. I would crowd the paint, especially in crunch time, and make Jokic a passer.
Certainly hope I'm wrong. I would do backflips and eat crow for a night if Braun or Watson or Russ or Gordon hit 4 3s and they won. Those four combining for four 3s may be unlikely.

Thought I'd repost this here.
It's just. game 5, but will be interested to see how we play vs. MIN. They've only played 9 players all season. Their 9th guy is Joe Ingles who looks washed. Their only consistent 3 point shooters are ANT and Naz, and I think Divincenzo will break out of his slump. I think Conley may also be washed, and their defense isn't nearly what it's been. If I'm DEN I'm matching up as follows.
1- Conley - Murray - this should be a matchup that doesn't give Murray as much fits, but obviously between screens and switches he won't be able to stay on him if MIN wants to for the action.
2- ANT - Braun - Braun did the best on ANT last playoffs, ANT is going to get his, it all depends on the efficiency IMO.
3 - McDaniels - MPJ - Putting MPJ here, and telling him to hard help in the paint and to rebound. This should simplify his rotation as there is less worry of McDaniels beating us from 3, would rather MPJ late out to McDaniels then late rotating under rim.
4- Randle - AG - also a simple matchup. Randle may actually give AG some physicality fits, but I'm living with Randle ISO'ing down low.
5 - Gobert - Jok - We will play Jok on Gobert and probably hedge the Gobert/Ant Pick N' Roll.
Team Defense - MPJ and AG need to hard help on Pick n' Roll actions. Make Randle (who has shot 3 well though on small sample size) and McDaniels beat us, don't lose because we give up Gobert layups or by playing drop coverage and ANT bombing from 3. I'm short closing out on their non-shooters and making those guys beat me. As for the bench. This would be a game I play AG alot more backup 5, even in lineups with Saric. I'm not putting Saric on Reid. I'd put him on Ingles if I can. When Reid is in they're going to run Pick n' Pop, need to be able to switch that. If it's Reid and ANT or Reid and Dante I would prefer being able to switch that action. Not give Reid 3's OR whoever is on NAW or McDaniels needs to be rotating extra early to closeout on Reid.
Team Offense - This will be an intereseting matchup of the benches. MIN bench has been atrocious defensively and team atrocious when Gobert sits. Our bench hasn't been great offensively, need to see what we can do there. MIN won't have the two towers in same way they did last year, Reid and Randle both smaller than KAT. That double won't be nearly as effective. Looking forward to the game and to see what else we need to work on.

Is it unreasonable to ask that the nuggets don’t get down by 15 for once?
Pretty sure we have been down at least 15 every game. This is unsustainable and would result in 30 wins at best

Just listened to Bill Simmons podcast where he hammered mpj and Kroenke's. He also said that Hawks have 4 wings that are better than mpj. Remember, we could have had 2 of those 4 for him and to be more precise the best 2 out of 4. Having mpj alongside Jokic as a max player is more than a crime. Disgusting how the best player in the world is treated

Even small markets yes I still believe that. I dont think our front office is competent to pull it off though. what I still dont understand is how we are the only team who cannot sign free agents. I get why the lakers, celtics, heat, knicks, etc get players shouldnt we be in the next tier? instead we are dead last. |
