well, I keep hearing the Nuggets need to trade Jamal for an "All-Star PG" and he's the one that's going to be available. So youre pushing for Young?

The Nuggets were 2 for 19 from three in that PDX game in 2019, with Jokic scoring those two. That won't happen again. I might be wrong, but I think Craig got one also? Cant remember. I do know both of Jokic's threes came in first quarter. And I think lead was 19, not 17. Again, might be wrong on that too. Also, in that game, Blazers also shot like crap. Dame was utter crap, like worst player on the field next to Jamal. They both had horrible games. Feels like most of our game 7s have been pretty sloppy, low scoring games. Beat San Antonio 90-86, shot under 40% from the field and 2-20 from three. Lost to Portland 96-100, shot 37% from the field and 2-19 from three. Beat Utah 80-78, shot 37% from the field and 8-31 from three. Beat LAC 104-89, shot 49% from the field and 13-37 from three. Better shooting, but then had 20 turnovers. That said...in all those games our opponents also shot extremely poorly too, so it didn't really hurt us. I could definitely see this game going in a similar fashion, though I don't really think a grind it out type of game is necessarily great for us against this Wolves team. Our role players usually shoot the ball better at home, but not exactly confident in anyone having a hot night against their defense. Hopefully all the previous experience will be a benefit...though the Wolves also have guys who've been there before, too.

I think guys can get nervous, but there's also gonna be some fatigue and a lot of physical stuff that refs will let go.
The key to games like that is not to get killed on the glass, which has been a huge advantage for the wolves in the playoffs. We need all 5 guys to rebound and not stand around like they were in game 6.

Guys I don’t know how you do it. I feel sick thinking about game 7. I wish I didn’t care so much but unfortunately I do. When my other favorite teams play, it’s never even 1% as bad as this is. Losing sucks but it only hurts when the nuggets lose. It’s just sports, right? Like my brain gets it, but the rest of my body doesn’t. The only comfort I find is this same situation played out in 2019. Up 3-2. Lost a second round game 6 on the road. Then lost game 7 at home. And that was to my most hated rival and we blew a 17(?) point lead. Losses rarely get worse than that. And I got over it. It eventually goes away and just becomes an annoying memory. The pain does disappear. Tomorrow is going to really hurt but it’s only temporary. Life goes on. if all you saying is true, there is something very wrong with you. why do you even watch sports? if Nuggets lose tonight, I will sleep for 2-3 hours, then get up and go to work. if Nuggets win tonight, I will sleep for 2-3 hours, then get up and go to work. its not the same, ofc, I will be down if we lose, but my world will not end... and I will watch first game of WCF, regardless of Nuggets result cause I love watching basketball. I am emotionally invested in Nuggets, but its not question of life and death. Im not a kid anymore. When my first girlfriend left me, I spent two days in bathroom crying. But I was 16, and I thought that was it, my only chance for happiness ended just there... two months after that I though I was in love again and world never looked so pretty... but when you are 16, you do tend to exaggerate, its kind of normal. but not when you are grown ass man. newsflash: Nuggets will not win every season! that's not how sports works!! Good post. Even though I vent here, in the real world life is good. But I appreciate the perspective. Sometimes I just need to hear it. Tonight will hurt but life goes on and it’s just sports. There are real problems in the world that millions deal with. Basketball is nothing compared to that. Just entertainment. Oh and btw only 2-3 hours of sleep?

If the Nuggets break even on the boards and turn the ball over less then Jokic will take care of the rest.

I said when we were down 0-2 Nuggets in 7. everything is going according the plan. yes, 2-3 hours sleeping. game starts at 2AM here, which means its going to start 2:15. its going to be over around 4:30AM. I need to wake up at 7AM, cause work starts at 8. I like when game starts at 8PM Denver time(4AM here). Then I go to sleep around 10-11PM, so I have enough sleep before game, and after game I go to work... but its playoffs, which means my sleep will suffer through first two rounds. thats why I usually take two weeks of vacation late April, combine it with May 1st holidays. but vacation is over, I start working tomorrow... and conference finals and NBA finals are easier to handle

Don't you know? Scott Foster is on our side according to NBA twitter. We got this.

yes, the league is conspiring to elevate the Nuggets because the 22 year old American extrovert that gets compared to Jordon on an hourly basis is not as marketable as Jokic, the foreign introvert that prefers the company of horses. smooth brained take.
Wolves fans are just crying because Marc Davis lets them get away with murder. but Scott Foster is probably the ref least swayed by home crowds so they have no one to blame but themselves if they lose this game.

Honestly I'd usually be pretty confident the Nuggets win here. Best player on the floor. At home. More experienced team. Those are 3 huge factors in a game 7.
The problem this year is you never know what team shows up. I said it all last year and still feel the same way that an A+ Nuggets game gets you a W. Our ceiling and best is better than anything any current teams can produce.

Well, if you and Matt Moore say so, as he did on his LockedOn podcast today, then I guess we are in great shape! Seriously, we SHOULD have this. We SHOULD win. But stuff happens. Let’s watch and see.

Matt MOORE’s podcast was great - imo, he’s the best commentator out there. He also predicted that minny would win game 6 - so I like his analysis.

If I were a casual fan, I’d pick minny.
If you look at our victories against minny, we’ve had to shoot over 50% in all of them, which is right above our season average (49%). That is a very hard barrier to meet, especially in a game 7 where everyone’s legs are shot.
Minny, on the other hand, is maddeningly consistent inside the paint, basically shooting 50%+ in all games, inside the 3-point arc. With minny also having more size, they get more opportunities to put back misses.
The Calvin Nuggets weren’t built to defeat size. We were built to beat finesse teams that rely on slashers and shooting guards (Dallas, phx, clippers, Boston). We weren’t built to defeat size, and TC’s project in minny basically flew under the radar.
But game 7’s, like the 10th to 12th round in heavyweight boxing are full of surprises and x-factors. So here’s mine -
1. GS: Minny players literally think they’re golden state. They never miss an opportunity to Chuck from the 3. As the series has gone on, their 3-point average has dwindled from 40% down to 30% for the most part. Our guys have to keep minny out of the paint and force them into 3’s.
2. Our guys: We have to shoot 48% or better - basically meet our average for the year.
Ultimately the biggest xfactor is that jokic and Murray got to sleep in 3 straight days, in their own beds and regenerate. Couple that with Minny’s fatigue (as showcased by 3-point percentage) I can pick our guys to win.
On a sidenote - If Minny wins and wins the championship - Good chance they sell for a massive price this summer and oncoming ownership goes above the 2nd apron to keep the core intact at least for 1 or 2 more seasons. If minny loses? They’ll stay in some kind of flux, causing major pieces to be jettisoned (which means minny will no longer be contending during our guys’ window.
I don’t mean to add additional pressure - but tonight is really the championship for this year and next year.
