I would like Jokic to get more rest considering the load he has to carry is prime LeBron level and he is literally the opposite of prime LeBron athletically. Some posters are actually sane and understand what the rest means Another major advantage of the 1 seed is that you play the 8 seed who will have just played back to back game 7s. They also play that game on the road. And they'll be gassed. It's a major advantage.

Last year when our starters got 2 weeks of rest and then destroyed everybody on their way Would they have not destroyed everybody otherwise? Jordan played 82 games every season and never looked tired in the playoffs. Same goes for dozens of superstars over the years. I just don't think the data backs up the notion that 'extensive rest' is critical. They have 4-5 days off at the end of the regular season. So athletically you're comparing prime Jordan to Jokic?

Just look at the last year. So it didn't matter west or east

yeah, prime Jordan would play all 82 and never looked tired, but he also crashed out twice from 93 to 98 because of the insane physical and mental toll he subjected himself to.

Actually, the 8-seed is determined by the loser of the 7/8 play-in game hosting the winner of the 9/10 play-in game. So it is quite likely the home team of that game gets the 8-seed. IMO, the ONLY reason to hold guys out at this stage is to allow injuries to heal up (Murray) or if we have a top-2 seed locked up. If healthy, guys can and should play otherwise. The six day break after RS is enough to recharge the legs of our players.

There are plenty of instances of lower seeds making a run but ultimately fail. It's tough to consistently win multiple playoff series on the road.

No reason why the Nuggets can't rest guys against Portland, SA and Memphis. Have to get the Hawks and T Wolves games though. Why hawks instead of Portland spurs and grizz?

I don't see what athleticism has to do with it. Jokic is smooth and economical in everything he does. If anything that aids his durability.

it's a double edge sword.
it aids his durability, but the NBA is a league where speed and athleticism can generate you "free" points, so to speak. there are no free points for Jokic, everything is earned which taxes the body more.

This notion of a low seed winning the championship is absolute nonsense.
The only two teams to win a championship from a seed lower than 3 were both defending champions that coasted through the regular season (Bill Russell's Celtics and Hakeem Olajuwon's Rockets). Every other champion was a top 3 seed, and only 7 of them were the 3 seed.

There are plenty of instances of lower seeds making a run but ultimately fail. It's tough to consistently win multiple playoff series on the road. Neither of those teams won because they lost to a better, very well rested team. But as the 8th seed Miami won the East abd took out 3 teams with ease proving that seeds 1-7 didnt matter. Similar thing did the Lakers. They just lost to a much better team and not because they were 7th seed. In our case we know we're the best team and that's why we don't need seeding but rest and healthy team. Last year we didn't need seeding at all as we won on the road in each series. Besides, out FR was by far the most difficult opponent so 1st seed could have been costly and it's the same this year. We're lock for the 4th (probably for 3) and that is good enough.

Thunder sent SGA home and he won't play in Charlotte, status for the home game against the Kings TBD.
Hayward got hurt tonight and left the game after 13 minutes, Jalen Williams didn't play. Their status against Charlotte is unclear.

I was told there was zero chance Minny would keep the 1 seed.
