Good, we don't need that loser here. Lmao I'd really love to know what exactly Luka did to make you dislike him so much. The guy is very clearly a winner as he has already shown in Euro and the NBA. Yelling at the scorer's table to give him an assist while he was supposed to be playing defense. The most loser s**t I've ever seen anyone do in a game. Showing up fat every year and chucking awful shots. Drinking and eating pizza on game days. Throwing tantrums instead of playing defense. He should be as good as Jokic but instead he's the king of empty stats. He refuses to be great and instead chooses to be good while fueling his ego at the expense of team success.

So which team is the most favorable first round matchup for the Nuggets — assuming no play-in “upset”? It seems to me its either the Pels or the Kings. The Pels have more size and on paper would seem to have more talent. But the Kings arguably have smarter players and one can make an argument that Fox is a tough cover for the Nuggets.
Thoughts?

Kings are now without Monk and Huerter, so they lack some of the depth and scoring punch they had before. And they're terrible defensively. The Pels would definitely be a tougher matchup in my eyes. I'd also rather play Phoenix than New Orleans, personally.

Suns just smoked the Pels on the back of one of those offensive explosions from Booker. Maybe next game it'll be KD.
They are dangerous.
No way they'll win the title but they are dangerous.

I don’t care who we face. Our biggest threat isn’t a team. It’s our own health.

crackhead take from Tony Kukoc: old.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1brqd33/toni_kukoc_despite_the_statistics_jokic_isnt_at/what would inspire Tony Kukoc to say something so patently imbecilic? obviously he isn't motivated by Croat nationalism since he name drops Divac, a Serb, as better than Jokic. is it just a boomer doing boomer things? and I had to google who the f "Dino Radja" is. apparently he played a grand total of 4 seasons for the Boston Celtics at a time when only Bill Simmons watched the Celtics. never made an ASG, made the playoffs once where he drastically underperformed (compared to his regular season numbers). never scored over 20PPG and had a TS% of .538. maybe he had an impressive run in Europe playing against Facu's dad but this was not overly impressive stuff. Never disrespect Croat nationalism regardless of how it appears at the first look lol. Trying to downplay Jokic to Divac's level leaves a nice space for him as he's regarded to be a better player than Divac in the Balkans. Those croats lol

Speaking of bad takes, SAS is championing SGA as his MVP, but ‘with all due respect’ to Jokic’s greatness.
Looking back, SAS has stumped for: -Durant in 2021 -Embiid in 2022 -Embiid in 2023 -SGA in 2024
I know the dude is basically famous for being a loud obnoxious moron, but JFC

I hate to say it, but I just think Kukoc is bigoted towards jokic - jokic is Serbian, Kukoc is Croatian - Kukoc has also been quite a nationalist for the Croatian stance.
Regarding Dino Radja - I went to boarding school in Boston when he played for the C’s. I won’t tolerate Dino slander - Dino could ball! Played four seasons and averaged almost 20 ppg for two of them.
Dino should have joined the Celtics in 1990, but I’m embarrassed to say that a US judge sided with his foreign team (in a lawsuit against the Celtics) and put an injunction on Radja playing in the nba.
Radja eventually joined the C’s in 1993 at age 26. This was also when Rick Pitino was the coach, who was complete garbage as an nba coach. Had Radja joined the C’s in 1990, he would have been an all star.
Only reason he didn’t stay in the nba is because pitino and the C’s front office utterly slandered him and painted Radja out to be a diva. Radja at age 30, with an injured knee, left the nba and had a great career in Europe.
Jokic is far better than Radja - but Radja - that dude could ball.

They have a difficult remaining schedule so I could see them falling out of the playoffs.

I don't know if it's being blinded by nationalism or what you see with ex-players trying to downgrade the quality of current generation while elevating their generation, that happens often. One of the more common ones is that defense is not played today and that one is one of the most ridiculous ones. I have anxiety attacks watching 90s games, nobody's being guarded on the perimeter, defenders are just crowding it down low. In today's game if your defender can afford to do that you're basically being played off the court. A lot of the guards you need to pick up almost at half court.
Regardless, Kukoc's take is obviously stupid.

I don't think people truly realize how tiring it is for defensive guards to chase around Steph Curry and run through 100 screens per game. In the 90s 2 guys played 1 on 1 and 8 guys stood still.

I don’t care who we face. Our biggest threat isn’t a team. It’s our own health. I still think the lack of quality size on the bench is also an issue. I think about games like the Mavs’ loss in which the Nuggets bench combined for 4 rebounds in 63 minutes. The Nuggets’ starters can’t do everything and going from last season’s playoff bench rotation of Brown, Braun and Green to Jackson, Braun and Watson is a big drop off in size and strength and athleticism and hands.

Bingo. There are so many more skilled players now and because of shooting ability all over the court, it is necessary to defend 2,000 square feet as opposed to about 500, and conditioning is 100X better, and offenses are much more complex since everybody on the court has the ability to shoot and score. The 91-92 Bulls had 0 starters who shot even 30% on threes in the regular season. The Nuggets have 3 starters shooting 40% and another shooting 35%. The game is played at a much much higher level now. And that is part of why I want Altitude’s Scott Hastings permanently retired. Even if he doesn’t say the words, there is an undercurrent of grumpy “in my day” in his constant vomit of verbiage and I’m sick of his know-it-all act.

with that being said, watching players like Shai initiate marginal contact, throw his head back like he got checked on the ice by Oiler great Dave “Cement-Head” Semenko (fu jimi) and get rewarded every. single. time. is beyond infuriating. the offenses are increasingly more skilled and intricate but the defenses are not being allowed to evolve alongside it. it's like basketball inflation.
