AAU ball is good for us. we have the continuity. we have the chemistry. we have the "teamness" as our old friend George Karl would put it. let Silver de-incentivize what made the NBA great during the 80s/90s. sure, it brings in the casuals during the regular season, but when the games actually matter and guys like KAT & Edwards, KD & Book, Dame & Giannis, Tatum & Brown and the zombie LAC superteam take turns going 1 on 1, the Cow Town Nuggets are going to have a real shot at repeating even with the one of the worst benches in contender history Lol.

Not true. All Star games in the 80s and 90s were excellent and competitive. those were different generations of players. now you have bunch of sissy multimillionaires. just think how these players grew up? when they kids, they play some tournaments where everyone is a winner? even if you lose, you get participation trophy. wtf is participation trophy? oooo, my boy Jimi will cry if he doesnt get the trophy and the kid who beats his ass on the court will get one! kme, kme, this is bad for kids, kme, kme! and girls and boys are same, so they get to play against each other! so everyone gets to be a winner, cause you Americans looooove winners sooooo much. praising them, building statues to alive people(this is even crazier), wanna take pictures with them, etc, etc... ah the timeless whining "kids these days are soft..." said by each generation before. Ironically they are the only ones whining... Players today are making business decisions (like not risking it in a circus game) and want their fair share of the pie. They are the ones bringing in the money, not Dolans, Balmers, Cubans or SV tech bros of the world. Money is well earned. League needs to find a way to properly incentivize the players, and just giving them a proper warmup time pregame is not gonna cut it. Many of these players were lifted out of poverty by the game, by putting a s**t tone of work and competing to the maximin of their ability as kids, carrying the weight of their family expectation their entire childhood, yet you think that participation trophies have anything to do with making them weak. You're giving too much weight to a "problem" that exists only in some corners of twitter, and is far from the real world problems. BTW those trophies exist in preschool and it's fine, those are little kids, let them enjoy it, life will teach them otherwise fast enough. And at that age yeah there is not much difference between boys and girls. NBA is not pushing WNBA for some woke reason, they're just looking for an additional source of income in the NBA offseason, a profit motivated move. I'm doubtful they'll succeed but time will tell. Same goes for "woke" Disney, Marvel... they're not woke, they're just recycling old topics in different color in order to extract more profit. end yes Euroleague has 1st, 2nd teams but they mean jack s**t, unlike the NBA's meaning supermax money, that's why ppl don't care. Euroleague and European regional/national leagues are stacked with NBA rejects, so the growing up theory means jack s**t. Oh an these hungry European players (Jokic and Doncic) as usual really dominated last night... A discussion on restructuring player compensation to better reward regular season effort and AS activity is the only valid discussion here, all this other stuff is just bullshit.

I'm not arguing that the all star games should be more competitive - especially due to injury concern. But clearly - the players aren't going to play, so the leagues need to figure out something to make these events entertaining.

You can't win a championship with a backcourt of Murray and Luka. That's almost Dame and Beasley tier defensive ineptitude. If you're going to add Luka to this team you absolutely have to move Murray, because if you have them both that means you have to get rid of a guy like KCP and dump his defensive assignments in Jamal's lap. And nobody wants to see Murray try to stop Ant or Booker every time down the court. And Luka? He couldn't cover Facu in a phone booth.

it's not Murray we need to jettison in this hypothetical scenario, it's MPJ.
Luka is a poor perimeter defender but he's averaging nearly 9 rebounds per game and he's ranks #2 in post-up defense accoring to Synergy. he's also a good thief, averaging 1.5 steals per game. there's no rule against playing him at the forward spot and letting AG take the better matchup, like we do with Mike currently. and the plus side is he's on another planet than MPJ offensively and we can stagger him with the bench to much greater effect than the status quo.

we don't need a bench with that star power. Luka is the scrub carrying king and can do a much better job than Murray at making the Brauns and Zekes look like NBA players.

The crazy part is - contract wise, MPJ, Zeke and picks for Luka can work.
I'm all in but who knows how many firsts this would take.

well, we're not trading Murray for Luka either. this is just hypothetical dreamland talk. Murray/KCP/Luka/AG/Joker could work and would probably end up with the same amount of championships as the Dubs.

The question is, would you give up both Murray and Mpj for Luka lol?. That would be the price plus picks, not just one of the 2.
