No guarantee Thunder will be the 2 seed There is literally no way this will happen. If anyone think Dallas will try and beat OKC which would shift them from the 1-seed and their higher seeded potential 2nd round path then they're crazy. They will literally lose on purpose, without making it blatant. The only reason to play the starters against Memphis - and it's a big one - is because it's quite likely Phoenix wins and you absolutely want home court vs Minnesota should you meet in rnd 2. If Minnesota wins and Denver loses, Minnesota is the #1 seed and OKC is #2. Or at least that's how I understand it.

Hawks should be relegated to the G league. I know they're in the play-in, but they've played way too much G league defense this season.

Caruso would fit so good with the Nuggets.

Laker forum debating whether they should tank the 7-8 game to get OKC.

yeah, called it in the MEM game thread. if I were a Laker fan, tanking a game to get OKC is worth it. even if their plan backfires and they fall out of the play-in completely, it's still preferable to getting swept out of the first round in my opinion.

lol if the Suns take out the Wolves and the Lakers take out the OKC. that would be hilarious for the doomer crowd.

I'm stunned at how emotionally fragile the TWolves are proving to be. They should have come out guns blazing today and they completely 'turtled.'
The Pels were a much better matchup for them, as the TWolves could more effectively use their size against them.
Maybe the TWolves find their groove again - but again - much as did we to the Grizzlies last year, we broke Minny.

The injuries to Adams and Clarke are what broke Memphis that year.
Also Ja and Dillon Brooks being idiots.

Call me crazy but I will literally always fear the Lakers because of their whistle. 3 of the 4 games last year were extremely close late too.
I'd be nervous about the Pelicans too because of Herb Jones on Murray. I'd literally rather play the Thunder than any other team in the West playoffs.

that's certainly a rational fear based on 40 years of indisputable evidence but it wasn't bad luck why they couldn't get a game from us. not even the refs can help LA when Jokic and Murray decide to hit another gear. I don't know, maybe they win one of D'Lo doesn't s**t the bed again. but he's a mental midget so I wouldn't count on it.

We are losing a huge advantage over last years WCF. Rest. The lakers were much more worn out by the time we faced them. They will be much more rested if we play them in round 1. Plus the refs of course

The Lakers don't have to beat the Nuggets just once. They have to do it 4 times.
Having lost about 8 or 9 in a row.
You always have to respect LeBron and AD but I just don't see that happening.
That being said, it'd be amazing and not shocking if the Pels win. Hard to beat the same team twice at home within a few days.
Also there's still a chance the Lakers "don't try very hard" vs the Pels. If they avoid Denver they have a huge shot at the Conference Finals.

Broken: Your best player goes on a mindless bender, and culminates with your team losing in the first round - not even a 7 game series, despite being the 2nd seed. We broke the grizzlies last year - much as we just did to minny.
